AnimeMan: The 13th Princess’s Overpowered Servant
Chapter 716 Chapter : 717
Chapter : 717
The wall was far away. It was covered in shadows. The flashing red emergency lights barely reached that side of the room.
Ken used his flawless, perception. He did not use a flashy spell. He just looked very closely. His dark eyes pierced through the toxic yellow mist. He saw right through the thick smoke.
He spotted something very interesting on the back wall.
It was a large, square panel. The panel was made of thick, reinforced glass. It sat high up on the concrete wall. It looked like a small observation window. But there was no room behind the window.
Behind the reinforced glass, Ken saw a complex machine. The machine was a large, mechanical cylinder. Thick wires connected the cylinder to the main power grid of the laboratory. The cylinder glowed with a very deep, intense green light. The light perfectly matched the color of the toxic sludge on the monster.
Ken watched the machine behind the glass carefully. He noticed a very specific pattern.
Every time the hidden cylinder pulsed with green light, the glowing core on Gargantua's chest pulsed a split second later. The hidden machine sent a massive wave of raw Solurius energy through the air. The monster absorbed the energy instantly. The monster used the energy to fire the radioactive orbs.
"I called it," Ken smiled a goofy, lazy smile in his mind. "The real router is glued to the wall. That glass panel protects the main energy core. The monster is just drawing power from that wall unit. It is a wireless charging station."
Ken finished his chocolate cookie. He dusted the crumbs off his hands.
He knew what needed to be done. They needed to break the reinforced glass panel. They needed to destroy the hidden machine. If the hidden machine broke, the wireless charging would stop. The monster would lose its infinite energy supply. The monster would finally become vulnerable.
"But I cannot just walk over there and smash the glass," Ken complained lazily to himself. He let out a loud, dramatic yawn. "The wall is very far away. Walking takes too much effort. I would have to dodge all those green orbs. Dodging requires cardio. I refuse to do cardio."
Ken looked at Princess Iris. He looked at Naomi. The girls were getting very tired. They breathed fast. They sweated. Their magical shields flickered. They could not last much longer. The infinite attacks were draining their stamina .
Ken realized he had to act. He could not wait for the girls to find the hidden glass panel. The room was too dark. The toxic mist was too thick. They were too busy dodging for their lives.
He needed to break the glass panel himself. He needed to use a projectile attack.
"I need to shoot the glass," Ken reasoned casually. "But I have to be subtle. I cannot use a giant laser beam. A giant laser beam is very flashy. It will ruin my background character disguise. Everyone will ask questions. Answering questions requires talking. Talking is very exhausting."
For the record, this copy came from the author's official page without permission; the chapter there supports its creator.
Ken thought about his favorite animated television shows. He searched his mind for a good idea. He remembered a very old, very famous anime about a spirit detective.
"The spirit gun," Ken decided happily. "The main character points his finger like a gun. He shoots a tiny bullet of spiritual energy. It is very fast. It is very precise. And if I make the bullet invisible, nobody will even see the attack."
Ken nodded slowly. It was a flawless plan. He would shoot the glass panel. He would pretend to miss the giant monster. It would look like a total accident.
Ken prepared to make his move. He stayed safely behind the overturned metal desk. He waited for the perfect opening. He waited for everyone to look away from him. The lazy slacker was ready to solve the massive puzzle boss without lifting more than a single finger.
---
The underground laboratory shook violently. Gargantua took a massive step forward. The concrete floor cracked under its giant steel boots. The monster raised both of its arms. The glowing green core on its chest burned with a blinding light.
"It is charging a massive attack!" Sayma warned loudly. She pushed her glasses up her nose. She typed frantically on her digital tool. "The energy levels are spiking! Take immediate cover!"
Princess Iris gripped her silver rapier. She raised her holy crystal high. "Hold the line! Protect Risa!"
Naomi dashed in front of the pink-haired healer. Zinia raised a thick rock wall. Laxmi prepared to throw her hottest fire. Luna summoned a giant wall of wind. Ira raised a thick shield of high-pressure water. The 13th Unit braced for the worst.
Ken Eliot sat behind his metal desk. He realized this was the exact perfect moment. Every single person in the room was focused on the giant monster. Nobody was looking at the lazy boy in the corner.
Ken pulled his right hand out of his sweatpants pocket.
He raised his hand. He extended his index finger. He raised his thumb into the air. He curled his other three fingers into his palm. He made a perfect shape of a hand gun.
He pointed his finger directly at Gargantua.
Ken slouched his shoulders. He put on a goofy, relaxed expression. He looked like a silly kid pretending to play a shooting game.
He aimed his finger carefully. He did not aim at the monster's glowing chest. He did not aim at the monster's head. He aimed perfectly past the monster's right shoulder. He aimed directly at the dark concrete wall far behind the beast. He aimed precisely at the reinforced glass panel.
"Bang," Ken whispered silently in his mind.
Ken channeled a microscopic amount of absolute, god-like magical energy into the very tip of his index finger. He compressed the energy tightly. He made it dense. He made it invisible.
He fired the energy bullet.
The invisible bullet shot from his fingertip. It moved faster than the speed of light. It made no sound. It left no magical trail in the air.
The tiny projectile flew across the massive laboratory. It zipped right past Gargantua's shoulder. It missed the giant monster . It looked like a total, pathetic miss.
The energy bullet traveled through the toxic yellow mist. It reached the back wall.
It struck the reinforced glass panel directly in the center.
CRASH.
A loud, shattering noise echoed through the large room. The sound of breaking glass was very sharp. The thick, reinforced glass panel exploded into a million tiny pieces. The glass shards rained down onto the floor.
The invisible bullet did not stop there. It passed through the broken window. It hit the complex mechanical cylinder hidden inside the wall.
The hidden machine sparked violently. Bright blue electricity arched across the wires. The deep green light inside the cylinder flickered rapidly. Then, the machine exploded in a shower of sparks. The machine died . It stopped glowing. The wireless power transmission was severed.
Gargantua froze instantly.
The Solurius Behemoth stopped moving. Its massive steel arms hung frozen in the air. The beast did not release its massive attack.
