The blindingly bright green core on the monster's chest suddenly dimmed. The light faded significantly. It turned from a bright, toxic sun into a dull, sickly glow. The slow, terrifying heartbeat sound changed. It slowed down drastically. Thump. ...... Thump. ...... Thump.

The toxic green sludge on the monster's armor stopped bubbling. The sludge turned thick and hard. The beast looked sluggish. It slowly lowered its arms. Its movements looked very clumsy and tired.

The 13th Unit stared at the monster in confusion.

Laxmi dropped her bright orange flames. She blinked her golden eyes. "Did it break? Why did it stop attacking?"

Zinia lowered her solid rock wall. She frowned a confused frown. "It looks like it ran out of fuel."

Sayma stared at her small digital tool. Her dark eyes went wide behind her thick glasses. She clicked her silver pen very fast.

"The ambient radiation absorption just stopped!" Sayma reported loudly. Her polite voice carried a huge wave of excitement. "The creature's primary power source is disconnected! The infinite healing mechanic is disabled! The monster is running on reserve battery power!"

Sayma pointed toward the back of the room. She pointed at the shattered glass panel on the wall.

"The true energy core was hidden behind that glass window!" Sayma deduced brilliantly. "Something broke the glass! Something destroyed the transmitter! The monster's chest core is just a decoy!"

Naomi spun her twin silver daggers. A bright, confident smile spread across her face. She looked at Princess Iris.

"The trap is broken, Princess!" Naomi yelled bravely. "It cannot heal anymore! Now is our chance!"

Princess Iris realized the massive opportunity. The invincible monster was finally vulnerable. She did not know what broke the glass panel. She did not know how the transmitter got destroyed. But she did not waste a single second asking questions. She had to strike right now.

Princess Iris gripped the handle of her silver rapier tightly with both hands. She stepped forward. Her violet eyes burned with absolute resolve.

"13th Unit! Stand back!" Princess Iris commanded smoothly. "I will finish this!"

Princess Iris closed her eyes for a split second. She reached deep into her royal bloodline. She channeled her maximum holy mana. She gripped her glowing white shard of the Core of Luminus. The shard amplified her energy.

"Infinite Prayers!" Princess Iris declared passionately.

A blinding, beautiful white light erupted from her back. The light pushed the toxic yellow mist away . The laboratory brightened immensely.

The light gathered rapidly in the air behind her. It formed a towering, radiant angelic avatar. The avatar was gigantic. It possessed massive, glowing white wings. The wings spread wide across the room. The angel held a colossal sword made of pure holy energy. The holy magic felt warm. It felt safe. It banished the sickening feeling of the poison swamp.

Gargantua let out a slow, sluggish mechanical screech. The monster tried to raise its rusted steel arms to defend itself. But the beast was too slow. It had no extra power left. The chest core flickered weakly.

Princess Iris swung her silver rapier in a flawless, downward arc.

The giant angelic avatar mirrored her exact movement. The avatar swung the colossal holy sword downward. The glowing blade sliced through the air.

The massive holy sword struck Gargantua directly on the top of its faceless head.

The holy magic cleaved straight through the thick steel plating. The pure white light burned away the toxic green sludge instantly. The sword sliced through the center of the monster's body. It sliced right through the dim, glowing core on its chest.

A massive, silent explosion of white light filled the entire laboratory. Everyone had to cover their eyes. The light was pure.

The light slowly faded away.

Gargantua did not explode into dangerous shrapnel. The holy magic purified the toxic monster. The thick steel armor crumbled into large, harmless pieces of rusted scrap metal. The metal pieces hit the floor with loud, clanking sounds. Clank. Clank. Clank.

The toxic green sludge turned into dry, gray dust. The dust blew away in the wind. The glowing green core shattered into a million tiny, dead glass fragments.

The Solurius Behemoth collapsed . It was reduced to a giant pile of harmless, silent junk. The beast was destroyed.

Princess Iris lowered her silver rapier. She breathed heavily. The giant angelic avatar dissolved into soft, floating white feathers of light. The feathers vanished before they touched the floor.

The underground laboratory went quiet. The loud sirens finally stopped. The red emergency lights turned off. Normal white backup lights clicked on.

Naomi cheered a very loud, happy cheer. She ran forward. She threw her arms around Princess Iris. She hugged her Princess tightly.

"You did it!" Naomi praised warmly. "That was the most amazing strike I have ever seen! The monster is gone!"

Laxmi jumped high into the air. "We won! We beat the puzzle boss!"

Zinia wiped a lot of dirt from her face. She smiled a wide, proud grin. "Excellent work, Princess. That holy magic is strong."

Luna sat down on the floor immediately. She rubbed her eyes. "Finally. I can take a nap. That metal guy was too noisy."

Risa hugged her brown teddy bear. She smiled a very sweet, relieved smile. She squeezed her glowing white shard. The room felt much safer now. The toxic pain was gone.

Ken Eliot sat behind the overturned metal desk. He wore his white shirt. He slumped his shoulders as far as they could go. He reached into his plastic bag. He pulled out a chocolate cookie with large chocolate chunks. He tossed the cookie into his mouth. He chewed it lazily.

He watched his friends celebrate their massive victory. He smiled a goofy, relaxed smile.

His secret was perfectly safe. Nobody noticed his tiny, invisible energy bullet. They all believed the broken glass panel was a lucky accident. They believed Princess Iris defeated the boss on her own.

Ken swallowed his cookie. He dusted the crumbs off his hands. He leaned his head back against the cold metal desk. He closed his sleepy dark eyes. The puzzle was solved. The monster was destroyed. The lazy slacker was ready to take a very long, very peaceful nap.
