Chapter 404: Chapter 290: Call for Help, the Missing Feng San Niang

The other party meant no harm, but he had to figure out where they came from.

Back in the rear garden.

Tang Wen picked up the object they had thrown.

Shui Yun glanced over curiously and smiled. "You’ve clearly never done this before."

"They were too nervous," Tang Wen said. "But that just goes to show that the person who sent her is in a critical situation."

The object thrown over was a piece of Kraft Paper loosely wrapped around a small stone.

To be safe, Tang Wen crushed the stone with his hand. The fragments trickled out, revealing nothing inside.

Scrawled on the Kraft Paper in red pigment were the words:

"Young Master Tang Wen, Lady Feng... Please, save her! She’s being watched and is under house arrest!"

’It was so vague. Where was he supposed to go to save her?’

"Could Lady Feng be Feng San Niang?"

Shui Yun looked at Tang Wen, her eyes wide with surprise. "Junior Brother, you dare get involved with a Sixth Grade woman who could suck you dry?"

A Sixth Grade woman, no less. And at the Peak of Sixth Grade, famous for her bewitching charms.

Even an ordinary Fifth Grade expert would find her hard to handle.

A moment of pleasure might be fine, but over time... well, there’s no such thing as a worn-out field, only a dead ox.

It couldn’t be helped. When it came to matters of the bedroom, women naturally had the upper hand.

Hearing Shui Yun’s apparent doubt about his nocturnal prowess, Tang Wen gave her rear a firm smack. "You dare doubt your husband? Today—no, tomorrow, I’ll show you just how formidable I am!"

Shui Yun shook her head, laughing. "Yes, yes, my lord husband. Just don’t forget you’re still at the Seventh Grade. You should take care of your health!"

Tang Wen gave her another firm squeeze before Shui Yun pushed him away. "Lady Feng is waiting for you to save her!"

"Feng San Niang is the adopted daughter of the Commerce Association’s president. Who would go after her?"

The Ganshan City Commerce Association wasn’t as formidable as the Four Seas Commerce Association, but its power was not to be underestimated.

The Commerce Association had several Fifth Grade experts as well.

More importantly, all the major factions had some form of cooperation with the Commerce Association.

The Commerce Association’s strength also lay in the trade routes they controlled and the network they had built outside Ganshan City’s sphere of influence.

These connections provided a stable outlet for the various families in Ganshan City to sell their surplus goods.

And to bring back various goods and resources in return.

So, even if the Commerce Association appeared weak on paper.

No one dared to make a move against them.

Only the Horse Gang and the Boat Gang, whose interests sometimes clashed with theirs, would occasionally cause some friction.

Shui Yun frowned, pondering for a moment. "I can’t say for sure. Logically, no one should be... but?"

A playful smile bloomed on her face. "Why is she asking *you* for help?"

Tang Wen’s mind flashed back to that night, but he said, "Well, perhaps she no longer trusts anyone inside the Commerce Association."

He then took Shui Yun’s hand. "Since you’re free tonight, Senior Sister, why don’t you come with me?"

"I don’t have that much free time!" Shui Yun cupped his face, gave him a quick kiss, and gracefully floated away.

Watching her swaying hips, Tang Wen couldn’t help but sigh. ’Where else could I find such an understanding senior-sister-slash-girlfriend-slash-sugar-mommy-slash-primary-wife?’

’Doesn’t my senior sister just want to rule over Ganshan City?’

’I’ll find even more "female patrons," live off even more women, and recruit more capable ladies to support her!’

’I’ll help her achieve her goal that much sooner.’

After he finished with these shameless thoughts.

He thought again of Feng San Niang—Lady Feng. ’Isn’t she a rare talent in her own right?’

By now, she could no longer be considered an expert in Tang Wen’s presence.

’But if I get her... no, *invite* her... no, *rescue* her, she could assist my senior sister by day and help me with my Cultivation by night. Wouldn’t that be perfect?’

Tang Wen quietly slipped past Zhou Bing’s and Xia Qingge’s courtyards and went across to find the White Tigers.

Hu Qi and Hu Niannian were once again roped into service.

The latter yawned, transformed into a small cat, and burrowed into Tang Wen’s arms.

After a vigorous petting session, it disgustedly struggled out of Tang Wen’s embrace and latched onto Ah Qi’s tail to fly along.

"We’re here."

Below them was the Spring Breeze Pavilion.

The woman who had delivered the message earlier had come from one of the courtyards of the Spring Breeze Pavilion.

A faint fragrance drifted up to them from mid-air.

The Spring Breeze Pavilion consisted of several main buildings linked to courtyards of various sizes. Winding paths lined with lush greenery connected the different areas.

After a quick glance at the lively scenes of song and dance in the main buildings, Tang Wen’s gaze fell upon the rearmost building.

The building was completely dark.

A few crows were perched in a tree not far from the roof.

Tang Wen didn’t rush in. Instead, he used the crows’ eyes to survey the surroundings.

After a long while, he had found nothing.

There were a few shady-looking individuals on the street corners and in the alleys.

But on closer inspection, it was clear they were the outside security.

Simply put, they were the nightclub’s guards.

Twenty-one, in the form of a little white cat squatting on Tang Wen’s shoulder, blinked its glowing eyes, scanning the area. After a long time, it shook its little head and began to doze off out of boredom.

’They’re not out here? Or are they hiding inside the building?’

The three-story building remained dark and lightless.

Soon, a few Hummingbirds flew in from the South.

Tang Wen concealed them all with his technique.

Hu Qi hid in the clouds to keep watch from outside.

He took Xiaobai and the Hummingbirds with him, concealed the entire top floor, then slipped in through a window.

The faint scent of soap drifted to him.

It was mixed with rose oil, creating a long-lasting fragrance.

Tang Wen’s brow furrowed.

He could tell that the place smelled suspiciously clean.

The Hummingbirds scattered, sniffing all around the room and chirping.

Tang Wen’s frown deepened.

The Hummingbirds were indicating they couldn’t establish a trail for Tracking.

There was no distinct scent.

He walked to the edge of the bed, bent down, and took a light sniff. Indeed, there was nothing but the faint scent of soap.

On the dressing table, various bottles and jars of cosmetics were in slight disarray.

He looked closely. The items were exquisitely made, but he seemed to recall seeing similar ones on the dressing tables of Liang Yu, the female housekeeper, and others.

’They must be the kinds of rouges and powders favored by beautiful, mature women.’

If he tried to use these scents for Tracking, he’d most likely end up at a Rouge Shop.

After scanning the room one more time, Tang Wen opened the wardrobe.

A fragrant scent, reminiscent of orchids and musk, wafted out.

’Ladies do like to keep things clean.’ Looking at the neatly arranged clothes, Tang Wen sighed and gestured for the Hummingbirds to approach.

As a result, the Hummingbirds immediately began chirping and leading the way, flying toward the door.

Tang Wen’s spirits lifted, and he followed with Hu Niannian.

His Stealth Technique enveloped the entire building, cleverly excluding the sleeping woman outside the door and the old woman downstairs.

Hu Niannian seized the opportunity to scan the entire building with its Spiritual Power, not even sparing the cellar.

There was no sign of Feng San Niang anywhere in the building.

"CHIRP!"

Down on the first floor, they arrived before a door. The little Hummingbirds completed their Tracking and flapped their wings rapidly, circling Tang Wen.

They were like kittens demanding a reward from their master after a performance.

Tang Wen looked at the laundry spices inside the washroom and, with a sigh of resignation, took out some Blood Marrow to feed them.

The Hummingbirds flew about even more joyfully.

"Tell me," Tang Wen said, his gaze turning profound, "how can a room someone lives in not retain the slightest trace of their personal scent?"

Hu Niannian shook its little cat head. "Someone deliberately eliminated it, obviously."

"The ones who took her?"

"Possibly. But it feels like she left unhurriedly. The house looks like it’s been tidied up."

Hu Niannian yawned, its small, pink paws stroking its whiskers. "You people in Ganshan City only have so many methods of Tracking. Isn’t the most effective one the Hummingbird’s scent-based Tracking?"

Tang Wen looked at it. "Little cat... um, I mean, a White Tiger’s sense of smell is also quite sharp, isn’t it?"

Xiaobai rolled its eyes. "It’s about the same as your mutant little birds."

"Hmm, what about intimate apparel with a particularly strong scent?"

Xiaobai’s fur instantly stood on end. "What are you implying? What exactly do you want me to smell?"

Tang Wen quickly reached out and gave it a few soothing pets.

With a few soft purrs rumbling in its chest, Xiaobai jumped onto his shoulder and turned its head away.

The man and the cat returned to Feng San Niang’s private chambers.

Tang Wen went straight for the wooden box inside the wardrobe.

He opened it and couldn’t help but hold his breath.

Purple, black, red, blue, white... each piece was as thin as gossamer.

Some were no bigger than his palm, while others consisted of just two strings...

Tang Wen was dazzled. He took a deep breath; the scent was singular and clean.

Xiaobai was bewildered. "This stuff is clothing?"

Tang Wen coughed and quickly offered the box to the Hummingbirds. "A kid like you shouldn’t ask so many questions!"

"Who are you calling a kid?" Hu Niannian swiped its paws.

’Lingerie is worn so close to the skin. Even if it looks clean, it should still hold a scent, right?’

"CHIRP! CHIRP! CHIRP!"

The Hummingbirds fluttered gently, using their chirps and flight patterns to tell Tang Wen that Tracking was impossible.

Now he was truly stumped.

’Ganshan City is huge. Where could he possibly find her?’

’It seems my only choice is to find the woman who delivered the message!’
