Chapter 352: Chapter 352: Breakfast Shop Robot

It swiftly moved to pack up the sticky rice chicken, filled a cup with hot soy milk, and sealed the lid.

The whole process was incredibly smooth, like someone who had worked in a breakfast shop for decades.

Then, it handed the three items to Lily Hart and stated the exact price.

Customers could then deposit Crystal Cores according to the price, which would be directly converted into points without needing a prior exchange.

Lily Hart nodded in satisfaction. Munching on a meat bun, she stepped aside and took a picture of the three breakfast items.

She posted it to the Human Social Sphere with the caption: [Just arrived at Phanfly Base. Come and get some breakfast!~]

It was now 8:30 AM—not too early, not too late. Some diligent folks were already out killing zombies.

The not-so-diligent had also gotten up and were heading out, while only the truly lazy were still lying in bed.

But regardless of which group they belonged to, everyone who heard the news immediately rushed toward the lottery shop. They’d heard a couple of days ago that Boss Hart would be coming.

They just hadn’t expected happiness to arrive so suddenly.

In less than five minutes, a crowd had formed in front of the breakfast shop. People were a little surprised to see three robots running it.

According to residents from the last few bases, Boss Hart would usually hire part-time employees locally, but it seemed that wouldn’t be necessary now.

Some residents who had been hoping for that opportunity were slightly disappointed when they saw the scene.

Working part-time at the breakfast shop not only earned you Crystal Cores, but you also got to eat the shop’s breakfast. It was the perfect gig!

But they were soon captivated by the various enticing aromas, and they began studying the menu as they lined up.

They calculated what breakfast items they would buy, and how many.

Lily Hart stood beside the robots, wanting to observe how agile their movements were and whether they would make any mistakes.

She stood there for about half an hour. The three robots didn’t make a single error, their movements growing more and more proficient until their mechanical arms were nearly a blur.

Lily Hart grew increasingly satisfied. ’Aren’t these better than people?’ They were obedient, didn’t cost as many Crystal Cores, and saved her a lot of trouble.

After watching for a little while longer, Lily Hart returned to the lottery shop. Diana Sharp and Tina Jacobs were just about managing to handle the rush.

She was starting to appreciate the benefits of machines more and more.

Now the vegetable fields had harvesting machines, the breakfast shop had sales machines, the convenience store had a stocking system, and the clinic had a triage system.

’Technology really is a blessing to humanity.’

After a moment of reflection, Lily Hart sent a message to the group chat: [Come get breakfast!]

She then snapped a picture of the chaotic assortment of breakfast items on the table—all of which she had just snagged from the breakfast shop—and sent it to the group.

Since they had just arrived at a new base, everyone was still a bit busy.

They had to explain the rules, prices, combos, and other details over and over, even though it was all posted on the wall. Some people just had to ask.

It was almost ten o’clock before people started trickling in.

Roman Rowe plopped into a seat, grabbed a bun, and started munching. "Boss Hart, when are you planning to head back to Central Command?"

Lily Hart thought for a moment. "We’ll stay at Phanfly Base for three days, then get ready to head back."

After all, there was still a pile of unresolved issues at Central Command. She couldn’t just leave them hanging forever; she’d have to face them sooner or later.

Frost Shaw, who had just gotten on the RV, overheard this and added, "It’s good to go back. Changing bases every few days is pretty tiring."

Roman Rowe scoffed, "Tiring? You’re just weak, that’s what it is."

"?" Frost Shaw shot him a look and went along with it. "You’re the strong one!"

"Of course~" Roman Rowe said, looking smug. After finishing the meat bun in his hand, he grabbed a cob of corn and hastily tucked it into his jacket.

With a quick wave, he said, "I’m heading out, Boss Hart. The shop’s getting crowded, so I need to go keep an eye on things." He then hurried off.

Lily Hart only had time to shoot him a look, but he was already gone before he could receive it.

Frost Shaw gritted his teeth. "That kid. Ever since he opened his own shop, he’s become something else. I never saw him care this much about the convenience store."

Lily Hart nodded in profound agreement. "Of course. It’s the difference between raising your own kid and adopting one."

Hearing this, he realized it made sense. He chuckled to himself, finished his breakfast, and went back to work.

The others were too busy to come for breakfast, and Lily Hart couldn’t be bothered to chase them down. ’They’re grown-ups. They’ll eat when they’re hungry, right?’

She packed up the remaining breakfast and put it in a thermal container for anyone to grab when they wanted.

Just before lunchtime, a message suddenly came in from Roman Rowe.

[Boss Hart! Code red! Help!]

The moment she saw it, she rushed to the clinic and found it in a state of chaos.

As she got closer, she could hear someone shouting, "We were here first! Why does he get to go first for treatment?"

"Can’t you see he’s in so much pain he’s about to die? Can’t you just do a good deed and let him go ahead?" the other person argued back forcefully.

Lily Hart glanced over and saw a person lying on the floor with multiple wounds, some of which were still gushing blood.

His breathing was faint; if he didn’t get treatment soon, he would probably die.

Meanwhile, the person who had arrived first was sitting in a wheelchair, his complexion ruddy. He was flanked by several bodyguards, clearly a person of some importance.

She had been worried this exact situation would happen—a critically injured person being stuck in line and dying while they waited.

That was why she had bought a triage system, specifically to give critically injured patients priority for treatment.

But those with minor injuries would still be scheduled in turn; they wouldn’t be pushed to the back of the line indefinitely just because their injuries were less severe.

This was the whole point of emergency services!

While Lily Hart was thinking, the two parties started arguing again, one insisting he was first, the other that the injured man was dying.

It was almost noon, so there weren’t many patients. As they were bickering, two Treatment Pods became available.

An idea struck her. She hurried forward and grabbed the wheelchair.

"Here, here, you take this one." She pushed the wheelchair to the designated spot. After scanning the patient, the Treatment Pod automatically loaded him inside.

The man in the wheelchair hadn’t even had time to react before he was already lying inside the Treatment Pod.

Even his bodyguards were dumbfounded. ’What just happened?’ They rushed forward, staring at the patient through the glass.

"And you, you take this one." After dealing with the man in the wheelchair, Lily Hart quickly dragged the other man to the second Treatment Pod.

The Treatment Pod identified the patient, the hatch opened, and he was gently lifted inside.

’See? Problem solved. Was all that noisy arguing really necessary?’

When both parties saw it was Boss Hart, they didn’t dare say another word. Since both patients were now inside Treatment Pods, there was nothing left to argue about.

"Hmph!" They both snorted coldly and went to their respective Treatment Pods to pay the fee.

Lily Hart scanned the room but didn’t see Roman Rowe. She waited for a moment behind the checkout counter before he finally emerged from the restroom.

"?" Lily Hart was a picture of confusion.

Roman Rowe gave her an obsequious smile, rubbing his hands together as he approached. "I was in the bathroom! Who knew they’d start fighting? I had no choice but to call for your help, Boss Hart~"

Lily Hart held out a finger to stop his advance, saying with a hint of disgust, "Did you wash your hands?"

"I did~" Roman Rowe even sniffed his hands, which had a faint, pleasant scent, and then thrust them under Lily Hart’s nose.

He wore a triumphant expression as he offered them for her to smell. "Sniff ’em if you don’t believe me." Lily Hart shoved him away in disgust. "I’m not sniffing them. Are you an idiot?"

Only then did Roman Rowe pull his hands back, wiping them twice on his clothes. "So, is the code red over?"
