Chapter 471: Chapter 471: Dumplings

But that slight squirm was enough to wake Frost Shaw. He tightened his arms, pulling her even closer.

His eyes weren’t even open, but his mouth was already searching for Lily Hart.

He peppered her face with kisses. Lily Hart pushed him away, afraid he was going to start something again so early in the morning.

Frost Shaw wasn’t annoyed at being pushed away. He just whimpered and snuggled closer again.

He was just like a puppy, whining softly with his fluffy hair.

Speaking of puppies, the real one showed up.

Jay-Jay came rushing over, shaking his head and wagging his tail, bouncing back and forth beside the bed.

He looked like he was dying to jump onto the bed, but Lily Hart had warned him before not to get on it.

So Jay-Jay only dared to hop around at the bedside, his paws not even touching the sheets.

He smelled a stranger’s scent and started spinning in anxious circles, letting out a low growl at Frost Shaw.

Frost Shaw ignored him, simply holding Lily Hart tighter.

Lily Hart patted Jay-Jay’s head. "Go on, get your breakfast. Stop spinning around!"

Jay-Jay had no choice but to walk away, crestfallen, his tail no longer wagging.

Lily Hart couldn’t help but laugh. She turned and stroked Frost Shaw. "Satisfied now?"

Frost Shaw didn’t say anything, just smiled endlessly. He rolled over, pinning Lily Hart beneath him, and kissed her again.

He had originally only intended to give her a quick kiss, but as they kissed, he couldn’t hold back.

It wasn’t until Lily Hart glared at him, her eyes red, and urged him to hurry up that Frost Shaw silently picked up the pace.

After all, the lottery shop had to open for business, and Lily Hart didn’t want everyone to see her and Frost Shaw coming downstairs together.

It would just be... weird.

With Lily Hart’s "urging," this particular battle ended much faster than usual.

But it still left her limbs so weak that she had no energy to get up. All she wanted was to lie sprawled on the bed.

This was exactly why she didn’t want to do this every day. It was exhausting.

A smile on his face, Frost Shaw carried her to the bathroom to wash up. This time, at least, he didn’t try anything else.

The two of them washed up quickly and went downstairs one after the other. Thankfully, no one was there.

But Lily Hart saw that there was freshly cooked congee and dumplings in the kitchen.

She wondered which kind soul had cooked it, had their own meal, and then left.

Frost Shaw served a bowl of dumplings for both Lily Hart and himself, carried them out, and sat down next to her to eat.

There were two types of fillings in the pot of dumplings: one was cabbage and pork, the other was shrimp and greens.

Lily Hart loved both. She happily devoured them, finishing one every two bites.

As they were eating, Roman Rowe came up and saw them sitting so close together.

An involuntary snort escaped his nose. He walked straight into the kitchen without a sideways glance.

He ladled a bowl of congee for himself, brought it out, and sat down across from them to eat.

He’d take a sip of congee and glance at Lily Hart, then take another sip and glance at Frost Shaw.

His staring made their skin crawl. Lily Hart spoke bluntly, "What’s wrong with your eyes? Are they twitching?"

"Hmph~" Roman Rowe snorted softly, looking like a sulking, neglected newlywed.

He might as well have had the words "Look at me, look at me, look at me" carved on his forehead.

Even though the words weren’t there, Lily Hart got the message. She begrudgingly picked up a dumpling for him with her chopsticks.

"Here, have a dumpling," Lily Hart said magnanimously.

Roman Rowe snorted again, a reluctant look on his face, but his hands were very honest.

He immediately pushed his bowl forward to receive the dumpling from her.

It was a cabbage and pork one. He’d eaten them before, but this one felt exceptionally delicious.

Now that she’d taken care of the one across from her, the one beside her started having a little tantrum.

But at least Frost Shaw had eaten his fill last night, so he wasn’t going to get jealous over a single dumpling.

He finished eating first and took his bowl to the kitchen.

Leaving just Roman Rowe and Lily Hart sitting face to face. Although the atmosphere was quiet, neither of them felt awkward; they were content to just eat their food.

Soon, they were both finished. Roman Rowe took her bowl along with his to the kitchen and washed them while he was there.

When Roman Rowe came out of the kitchen, Frost Shaw had already gone back to the convenience store.

Lily Hart was sitting cross-legged in her usual spot on the sofa, hugging a throw pillow. Jay-Jay was curled up on the floor.

It was a picture of perfect tranquility.

Roman Rowe couldn’t resist sidling over. He leaned down, resting his elbows on the back of the sofa.

He tilted his head to talk to her. "What are you doing, Lily Hart?"

"Playing on my Light Brain," Lily Hart said truthfully. Chatting with the various Base Commanders had become part of her daily work.

New Base Commanders added her every day; she had no idea how they were getting her contact information.

’Probably through a chain of referrals.’

She only accepted friend requests from Base Commanders and rejected all others to avoid being bombarded with messages every day.

But even among the Base Commanders, some were very talkative.

They wanted to procure supplies, or ask when she would visit their base.

They also asked if her shops could open branch locations, and when they might open one over there...

Lily Hart generally only answered the questions she felt like answering, skipping over all the rest.

Roman Rowe nodded in understanding. He wanted to find something else to talk about, but seeing how busy she was, he kept his mouth shut.

He just watched her quietly from the side. As he watched, Jay-Jay noticed him.

Jay-Jay, lying on the floor, lifted his head and stared at Roman Rowe, his gaze sharp.

For a moment, they formed an open triangle.

After a while, Lily Hart finished replying to a Base Commander’s message and noticed Roman Rowe was still there.

She tilted her head to look at him. "Why haven’t you gone back to the clinic yet?"

Roman Rowe didn’t quite know what to say. ’I can’t just tell her I want to kiss her, can I?’

’Wouldn’t that be a little too abrupt?’

While Roman Rowe was still trying to figure out how to make his request, Lily Hart leaned in herself.

She cupped his chin, held his head steady, and, finding the right spot, pressed her lips against his.

Roman Rowe instinctively closed his eyes, feeling the soft touch on his lips for just a fleeting moment before it was gone.

It was only for a brief instant, but Roman Rowe was already completely satisfied.

He broke into a goofy grin, his eyes sparkling as he looked at Lily Hart, and unconsciously scratched his head.

Jay-Jay, who had been lying on the floor, suddenly shot up, an expression of disbelief in his doggy eyes.

Lily Hart noticed Jay-Jay get up and casually patted his head.

"What’s wrong, Jay-Jay? You want a doggy kiss too?" Lily Hart teased.

Jay-Jay didn’t understand. Jay-Jay just spun around anxiously.

Roman Rowe understood, and he just kept grinning foolishly.

When Stan Sterling came up, the scene that greeted him was Roman Rowe grinning like an idiot, Lily Hart petting Jay-Jay, and Jay-Jay staring at Roman Rowe.

It was truly a bizarre sight.

"Did you have the dumplings and congee?" Stan Sterling asked as he walked toward Lily Hart.

Lily Hart nodded enthusiastically. "I did! They were delicious!"

’She was never stingy with her praise for the men; it encouraged them to do even better.’

Stan Sterling smiled, pressing his lips together. "As long as you liked it. You should eat more then."

Lily Hart agreed, and Roman Rowe nodded along, having just been kissed.

His brain was probably muddled, because he also chimed in, "So delicious."

Stan Sterling’s smile vanished. He didn’t respond. ’Who cares if *you* think it’s delicious?’

’All that matters is that Lily Hart thinks it’s delicious.’

Stan Sterling had already eaten breakfast; he had just come to ask if Lily Hart had eaten.

After receiving a satisfactory answer, Stan Sterling did a delighted little spin inside the RV before heading to the fruit store.

But just as he was getting out of the RV, he ran into a group of people. Stan Sterling’s expression changed, and he instinctively glanced back in Lily Hart’s direction.

...even though he couldn’t see her from outside.
