Apocalypse: I'm Bound to a Mobile Lottery Shop
Chapter 478: Grand Opening of the Home Appliance Mall
Chapter 478: Chapter 478: Grand Opening of the Home Appliance Mall
Having recovered, Roman Rowe put on a cheeky grin and changed his tune. "I don’t think this smells very good."
"Oh?" Lily Hart glanced at him, playing along. "And why is that?"
"It doesn’t smell as good as my body wash. Here, smell it if you don’t believe me."
As he spoke, Roman Rowe eagerly held his wrist out for Lily Hart to smell. She took a couple of light sniffs—a faint scent of camellia.
Lily Hart nodded, her tone slightly dismissive. "It’s decent, I guess."
"See!" Being rather dense, Roman Rowe completely missed her dismissive tone and grew excited.
Lily Hart snorted with laughter. "Yes, yes, you’re right. Let’s go eat."
The two of them moved from the sofa to the dining table, which was laden with dishes that looked, smelled, and tasted delicious.
Lily Hart sighed in satisfaction, holding her Light Brain up high to take a picture.
’My goal now is to make the lottery shop bigger and better, so these good days can last for the rest of my life!’
She sat down. Next to her was a bowl of shredded pork and egg fried rice served by Frost Shaw. Every grain was perfectly distinct, and it looked delicious at first glance.
On her other side was a plate of pork and cabbage dumplings from Roman Rowe. Good grief, two staple dishes.
They were all either grown men or growing boys—two life stages known for voracious appetites.
And with more than enough ingredients to go around, everyone cooked to their hearts’ content every day. It always got finished, anyway.
After they finished the satisfying meal, Lily Hart suddenly piped up:
"I’m in the mood for some yogurt and a small cake. Any supporters?"
Frost Shaw, reflexively devoted to Lily Hart, subconsciously replied, "I support it."
The others chimed in one by one, "We support it! Of course, we fully support it!"
Frost Shaw felt like his brain had short-circuited for a moment. Coming to his senses, he asked, "Didn’t you just finish eating? And now you want cake?"
Lily Hart pouted, crossed her arms, and said petulantly, "None of your business! I just want some!"
"Fine, eat, eat, eat..." Frost Shaw was helpless against her. If he didn’t indulge her, her rebellious streak would kick in. The more you told her no, the more determined she’d be to do it.
Roman Rowe, a man of swift action, declared, "I’ll go buy you a small cake!"
Stan Sterling, also quick to act and highly observant, had already fetched the brand of yogurt she had been enjoying recently.
He even twisted off the cap for her. Lily Hart took a sip. ’Ah, this is so good...’
Then a bite of mango mousse. ’Ah, now I’m satisfied. Completely satisfied.’
...
The next day, the appliance store held its grand opening.
Lily Hart had already shared the good news with Elder Shaw, Logan Holland, and the others the day before.
They were all extremely interested and said they would definitely come for a look. If the products were good, they could purchase a batch to take back with them.
At nine in the morning, the doors of the appliance store opened, and Lily Hart and Yvonne Hale stood at the entrance to welcome the first customers.
After Lily Hart had shown her to the dormitory yesterday, Yvonne Hale didn’t immediately rest.
Instead, she followed Lily Hart’s advice and made twenty large navigational signs.
Then, she went to the appliance store by herself and placed the signs in various key locations.
This would ensure customers could easily orient themselves whenever they entered a new section and wouldn’t get lost.
After all, the store was massive. A thorough walkthrough would require at least 20,000 steps.
Although she was a bit introverted, she was a sharp girl. With time on her hands yesterday, she had studied the "Lily Hart" software.
She had no idea until she started exploring it, but she quickly discovered it was packed with features.
For example, it could price all the products with a single click, saving her the trouble of applying tags by hand or setting the prices herself.
The prices generated by the software were perfectly reasonable, taking into account post-apocalyptic market rates and the general population’s spending power.
It also cross-referenced the pricing at Lily Hart’s other shops and even factored in the conversion rate between Crystal Cores and points.
From Yvonne Hale’s perspective as a post-apocalyptic survivor, the prices were so reasonable that she would absolutely be a customer.
’I’d even borrow Crystal Cores to shop here!’
Central Command was mostly populated by ordinary survivors, but there was also a significant number of superpower users.
Most importantly, there was a class of powerful and influential people whose safety was guaranteed by their bodyguards whenever they went out.
They had superpower users to do their bidding, so they could just relax in the base while countless Crystal Cores flowed into their accounts each day.
But the one thing that made them miserable was the severe scarcity of supplies...
They couldn’t eat well, they had no quality goods, and even something as simple as taking a shower was a problem.
However, the appearance of Boss Hart had successfully solved these problems for them.
They finally had a place to spend their Crystal Cores, and they had become a major spending force at Lily Hart’s establishments.
Today, they had arrived. They had braved the cold wind, determined to go on a massive shopping spree at the new appliance store!
Yvonne Hale watched the waves of customers pour in, a grin threatening to split her face. She couldn’t hold back her smile.
She also didn’t have to worry about customers asking a million questions inside.
Questions like, "Does this refrigerator work without electricity?" or, "Can this electric kettle magically produce water?"
She was naturally introverted and had some social anxiety, so to avoid being cornered and grilled by customers, she had specifically placed guide robots in each section to answer any and all questions.
And as for how she could afford them? She had borrowed the funds through the "Lily Hart" software. She just had to pay the loan back next month with her earnings.
That’s right—the system was just that considerate.
After all, most people weren’t rich, and starting a new venture required a lot of initial investment.
Lily Hart had come up with this plan. As the saying goes, a good borrower makes a good lender.
Besides, she trusted the system and believed that the grand prize winners it selected were all good people.
"Elder Shaw, you’re here." Lily Hart finally saw the people she had been waiting for at the entrance.
She went to greet them and met Elder Shaw’s gaze, which was filled with unconcealable surprise and shock.
As for Logan Holland and his two companions, they were acting like they’d never seen the world, snapping pictures of the giant, refrigerator-like building from every angle.
They were "wowing" uncontrollably. ’I feel like I’m looking at three Roman Rowes,’ Lily Hart thought.
’They’re grown men. Can’t they be a little more dignified?’
’See? Elder Shaw is still composed.’ Lily Hart’s gaze shifted from Logan Holland and his companions to Elder Shaw.
Only to find that he was taking pictures too. ’Okay, okay, snap away,’ she thought. ’I get it.’
Once the four of them had finished taking pictures and reluctantly put their phones away, Lily Hart finally asked, "Shall we go in?"
"Let’s go!" Elder Shaw declared with a grand wave of his hand. Led by Lily Hart, the group of five followed the stream of people inside.
The moment they stepped inside, they were stunned by a space so vast they couldn’t see the end of it.
Then they were stunned again by the sight of countless brand-new home appliances, all arranged in perfect order.
There were two navigational signs near the entrance. Logan Holland and his companions crowded around to read them, having the foresight to take a picture.
Elder Shaw had been nearly speechless since he’d walked in. It was as if the doorway had separated two different worlds.
For a moment, he felt like he had returned to the age of civilization.
Lily Hart understood completely and waited quietly to one side for Logan Holland and his companions to finish reading the sign, and for Elder Shaw to come back to his senses.
After a little while, they were ready.
Because there were so many sections and appliances, the large number of customers was spread out.
No single area felt crowded. The group of five made their way to the refrigerator section.
Elder Shaw reached out and ran his hand over one of the refrigerators. It was brand-new and exuded an air of high technology.
He opened the refrigerator door, and a rush of cold air washed over him, completely free of any strange odors.
Logan Holland took one look and immediately wanted to buy it!
