Lord Demigod trembled as he picked up the teacup, trying to drink some water, only to find that the tea inside had already been spilled by his own hand. The woman sitting beside him started to tremble too, as if desperately trying to suppress the urge to cry out.

Lord Demigod wanted to ease the tension...but didn’t know where to start.

He could only say, "Well, is she really pregnant?"

Carmille remained silent, and Lord Demigod continued speaking gently.

"If she’s pregnant, she needs to nourish the fetus. I’ll have the doctor and nutritionist come by later..."

"Is it true?"

Carmille abruptly interrupted Lord Demigod’s conversation, while he feigned ignorance.

"What’s true?"

"What Tang Haofei said...is it true?"

The topic was laid bare, and under Lord Demigod’s facade, his brow furrowed slightly, as if blaming Carmille for her "lack of wisdom."

"Does it matter that much if it’s true or false? What he said just exaggerated the truth! Everything is already arranged, it won’t cause a significant impact."

"That’s your father...and you asked him to intervene. Aren’t you afraid he won’t be able to hold back and will cause utter catastrophe, leading to countless deaths? Aren’t you worried about retribution?"

Carmille naturally knew Lord Demigod’s true identity—their union was both spiritual and physical, with only the wedding left to complete. In fact, the wedding date was already planned by Lord Demigod, so such trivial identity concerns were not worth hiding, in his view.

To this, Lord Demigod could only sigh silently. After a while, he stood up, walked behind Carmille, gently embraced her, and spoke in a soft tone.

"This decision was made by Earth’s will, and I can’t do anything about it. Besides, if handled properly, the consequences are not as severe as Tang Haofei suggested. When the time comes, all the powers on Earth will be ours. The entire world will become an unyielding force to better resist the Demon Tribe. I will be the king of the world, and you will be the Queen...he/she..."

Lord Demigod gestured toward Carmille’s belly.

"Will be the Prince/Princess of the world."

"I’ve arranged everything; you just need to act as if nothing happened, go back and rest, and take care of the fetus. Soon, you will see the results of my efforts!"

Lord Demigod spoke softly and earnestly, as if the actions he was about to take would be as smooth as a gentle breeze without causing any ripples. However, Carmille, although not particularly wise, was not foolish. From the previous dialogues, she could discern the cause and effect of the situation and foresee the consequences.

She forcefully escaped Lord Demigod’s embrace, turned to him, with tears in her eyes, and though she had thousands of words in her heart, they only became one utterance: "This isn’t right..."

Lord Demigod’s expression then slowly turned colder.

"Right and wrong are matters for children to consider. Adults don’t distinguish between them—I have made my decision!"

Feeling perhaps that his words were a bit too harsh, Lord Demigod added.

"Forget it, you don’t need to worry about this matter anymore; I’ll handle it myself."

After saying that, Lord Demigod sat back in his chair, closed his eyes to rest, making it clear that he didn’t want to discuss it further...

However, deep inside, he was already cursing Tang Haofei, for causing such a big trouble for his own amusement!

Carmille, seeing this, just stroked her belly, looking at Lord Demigod with increasingly complex emotions, ultimately remaining silent as she exited the room.

...

On her way back to her room, Carmille’s steps were slightly unsteady. She pondered over everything, but her heart gradually grew colder. Until she returned to the bedroom, sitting in front of the vanity, looking at her reddened eyes, and then at her flat belly, she ultimately sighed.

She already had a child, so what could she do? As a woman, even if she was dissatisfied with Lord Demigod’s decisions, what could she do?

Just moments ago, Carmille was stirred by her maternal instincts, triggered by Tang Haofei’s depiction of human misery. But after calming down, she gradually pressed the matter deep into her heart.

What could she do? Turn against her family for justice? She lacked the ability; she couldn’t and certainly wouldn’t kill Lord Demigod. She also didn’t want to kill him. Compared to the possible millions of orphans in the future, she first wanted to ensure that her child had a father.

Even if one has altruism, they shouldn’t be naive; even if maternal instinct exists, it shouldn’t run rampant... In an apocalypse, everyone knows how to strike that balance.

Should she inform Lin Haifeng? That would only escalate the conflict. It would be better to let Lord Demigod push Lin Haifeng aside; a quick pain is better than prolonged suffering... Logically speaking, Carmille could only resign to fate!

And indeed, Carmille accepted her fate...

She just sat for a long time before starting to pack her clothes.

Though resigned, Carmille didn’t want to stay in this place—never returning wasn’t realistic; after all, after the wedding, it would still be her home and her child’s place to grow up. However, Carmille thought she should return to Spirit, to her family, to change her mood, and after everything ended, rekindle her relationship with Lord Demigod.

Yes, it was similar to a couple having a spat...just a trivial matter.

...

Carmille didn’t have many clothes; a small suitcase held all her belongings, and most of them were gifts from Lord Demigod.

She opened the door, only to find the caretaker standing outside.

"Ms. Carmille, Lord Demigod invites you to dine together."

The caretaker stated, but Carmille just shook her head: "Tell Lord Demigod, I want to stay with Spirit for two days."

After speaking, Carmille pushed past the caretaker, walking out without looking back. She passed through the corridor, the central garden, and the castle gates, looking back to see the silhouette standing at the window on the top of the castle, watching her.

"I wish you success, but at the very least, the child shouldn’t have to go through all this disgust..."

Offering her final blessing and resolution, Carmille left without looking back.

...

"So she said that? Then I understand..."

Lord Demigod listened to the caretaker’s report, watching the woman’s distant figure, his eyes gradually filled with emotion.

After the caretaker left, Lord Demigod returned to his desk and picked up a document, but as he read it, it made him increasingly irritable!

One characteristic of smart people is that they think too much, and one characteristic of those with gloomy minds is that they feel the world is full of malice toward them! Unfortunately, Lord Demigod possessed both! He reflected on everything that happened, weighing the gains and losses, and after a long while, his eyes flashed with killing intent!

So, he picked up the communicator and issued the latest command!

"Kill her!!!"
