In the void, the spacecraft sped swiftly, and Howard had already reported the progress of his work at the headquarters of the Independents Mutual Aid Federation… or to someone.

“The boss didn’t say much else. Though he’s somewhat disappointed that I carelessly slaughtered that little Ancient Demon, judging by his tone, he truly doesn’t place much importance on the matter.”

“Also, stop fiddling with that little fellow; it’s far more valuable than that little Ancient Demon!”

Howard laughed as he spoke to Stuart and Sun Ye, then reminded Sun Ye to take good care of the Balu Monster, before heading to the small fridge to take out a bottle of champagne.

“So, gentlemen?”

He held up the champagne to gesture to Stuart and Sun Ye. Stuart merely raised the wine glass in his hand filled with red wine, while Sun Ye, full of emotion, looked at the Balu Monster sealed inside the small sphere, his tone full of admiration.

“Can you imagine this creature, released, stretches several thousand meters in length?”

This statement immediately dampened Howard and Stuart’s celebratory mood. The two returned to the sofa, their faces expressionless, as Sun Ye began to detail to them the “strength of sealing type ability” in this educational segment.

Until, in the distance, a blurry, unnoticeable black light suddenly streaked across the sky and adhered to the vessel’s hull.

The three inside the spacecraft were completely unaware, and the vessel, carrying Howard and the others along with an unexpected guest, sped towards a mainland bloc in District 8.

About three hours later, the spacecraft finally stopped at the edge of a mainland bloc.

…

Mainland Bloc Number 0013 in District 8.

Both one of District 8’s key parts of the main battle zone and the famous headquarters of the Independents Mutual Aid Federation.

It features three major cities, abundant wild resources rich enough for self-sufficiency—just from this mainland bloc’s position, one can see how much trust Wen Yu placed in Bai.

Unfortunately, someone seems to have let Wen Yu down…

Howard and the others filed out of the spacecraft, then boarded a car straight to the headquarters building of the Independents Mutual Aid Federation. Yet, none of them noticed a figure hidden in a parallel space standing on the car roof, enjoying the ride while surveilling everything that Bai built.

Prosperous, flourishing, lively, strong, and vibrant.

Everything beautiful one could say about a city can be applied to this city called “The Independents’ Home.” It’s a land filled with opportunities and miracles.

It’s also a symbol of Bai’s abilities.

Undeniably, Bai is absolutely one of the most intelligent and capable people Wen Yu has ever met—there’s no need to elaborate on Bai’s praises, as Wen Yu’s repeated help and Bai’s numerous attempts to assist demonstrate its essence.

Wen Yu even considers that if Bai were less free-spirited, he might become Wen Yu’s right-hand man!

Not Lin Haifeng as a piece of data, not Fran, not Tang Haofei…

But a true one!

Their three views are similar; they share the same path…

Yet the world’s wonders are so peculiar; those alike rarely become friends, instead forming a complex relationship known as “rivals.”

This might very well be a case of like repelling like…

…

The vehicle’s speed was not fast; Howard and the others inside were still engaging in grand debates—mostly Sun Ye speaking, with Howard and Stuart sporting looks as if they wanted to die.

Until the vehicle entered the headquarters building of the Independents Mutual Aid Federation, into the parking lot, where the trio then alighted and went straight to the elevator.

After entering a series of complex passwords, accompanied by the roar of the machinery, the elevator descended rapidly until it stopped at a floor not shown on the indicator panel.

With the elevator doors opening, a simply decorated spacious hall came into view.

“Welcome back.”

A voice sounded from not far away. They saw Bai in white, sitting on the sofa, holding a computer with an unknown TV show on one hand, and a wine glass in the other.

“Boss.”

Faced with Bai’s leisureliness, Howard and the others felt tense upon entering, all standing at attention respectfully, until Sun Ye pulled out a sphere that sealed the Balu Monster from the space ring, then Bai glanced from the computer to Sun Ye’s hand.

“Indeed… it’s this little guy… fellows, you’ve done well this time, although the caretaker was accidentally taken out by you…”

As Bai finished the sentence, the sphere in Sun Ye’s hand floated up, leisurely landing in Bai’s hand, his eyes fixed on the Balu Monster inside. Then, slowly, his gaze turned greedy…

“Leave.”

A far more imposing voice emerged from Bai, and upon hearing it, Howard and the others simply bowed their heads in submission, sneaking back to the elevator as if they were thieves. With the door closed and the machine roaring once more, Bai was left alone in the room.

…

‘Gurgle~~~’

The Balu Monster in the small sphere licked its tongue, the angle always aiming at Bai.

Even sealed and deprived of all its perception abilities, a looming sense of danger still conveyed to the Balu Monster that something ominous might be about to occur.

It crawled around, its body shaking, an unsettling feeling consuming its entire being.

Seeing this, Bai merely smiled slightly.

“Oh~~~ poor little thing…”

Bai sighed, “comforting” the Balu Monster until his eyes grew brighter, the greed intensifying. When this emotion reached its peak, Bai then smiled as he filled his glass with red wine, slowly picking up the sealing sphere and gently placing it into his mouth!

Just like tasting a delicious candy…

Until a hand reached into Bai’s mouth, tearing open Bai’s mouth, shattering his teeth, gently pulling the sealing sphere from between his throat, then placing it back into his own hand.

Everything happened incredibly swiftly.

Bai felt himself swallow the Balu Monster, then his jaws worked, intending to directly crush this candy and savor the delightful taste within. However, when his lips tasted ice dragon, all he felt was piercing pain.

“Ooh~ long time no see~”

He smiled and turned his head toward the person sitting beside him; amazingly, Bai’s bleeding mouth and wounds didn’t affect his tone at all.

Flawless Beijing accent…

Although that bloody and mangled mouth was somewhat terrifying.

And Wen Yu watched as Bai, with a handkerchief in hand, slowly wiped the blood off his mouth’s corner, simultaneously waving the saliva-covered Balu Monster, speaking softly.

“Care to give me an explanation?”

“Explanation? Hmm, if you want to define today’s conversation as my explanation to you, then fine, I do have a small explanation.”

Bai said as his mouth injury healed within this short period.
