Chapter 7: New World Order

Alex and the two of them reached the other end of the corridor and they turned around.

They had their backs to the wall but they wouldn’t face the risk of being surrounded by these rats anymore.

"Get them!" Alex shouted and smashed his baseball bat down onto the rats that were coming at him.

A few of the rats got crushed and their blood splattered all over.

The other rats changed their course of action and they scurried away to the side.

One by one, they piled themselves into a small tower.

When it was up to waist level of Alex, some of those rats on top tried to make a leap for it while the other rats came at him from the ground at the same time.

Alex swatted the rats that came at him with his baseball bat, turning them into smudges of blood and flesh in midair.

He went on and stomped at the rats coming at him from the ground.

With the rats coming at him from midair and the ground, Alex knew that he had to stop them from doing so continuously.

He lunged at the small tower made up of the rats, turned his body with both of his hands holding the baseball bat and swung it at the small tower of rats with all his might.

Thunk!

The baseball bat hit onto the ghastly small tower of rats and it turned those that were hit by it into a mangled mass of flesh.

Other rats were hurled into the air and they flew backwards for a few meters.

The other rats quickly scurried away to avoid being killed by Alex.

They ran away frantically but Brian and Terry were ready for them with their broom and mop.

Both of them stabbed the sharp end of their sticks into the rats and when they were done, they changed to the other end to sweep the other rats that were coming at them away.

This went on for a few moments until the corner of the corridor was strewn with the dead bodies of the rats.

Finally, everything died down and there were a few moments of respite for the three of them.

Fortunately, after awakening their abilities, they had much more stamina than an average adult and what they did was minuscule compared to what they were capable of with their SSS and S Level abilities.

Alex flicked his baseball bat and the blood and flesh that was stuck on it was flung onto the wall of the corridor.

He frowned at the silence in front of him.

And while he was pondering on what was happening, a familiar sound erupted in his mind.

[Congratulations Host for killing off 40 mutated beasts.]

[Dispensing rewards now:]

[100x bottles of mineral water.]

[100x packets of MRE ration.]

[100x mobile power bank.]

[50x boxes of essential medication.]

[50x Pistols with ammunition.]

[All items are stored in your storage space now.]

[Current status: 92/200]

[Day 1 of 3 for SSS Level Storage Ability.]

He was glad when he saw that he was getting close to half of the required 200 kills on the very first day.

The chances of him being able to keep the ability were high if he kept it up.

Alex glanced at Brian and Terry, who were taking a breather and wiping the sweat off their foreheads, and asked, "Ready to make a move?"

Meanwhile a few moments earlier, on the eighth floor, Jack and his men had smashed the barricaded doors of the meeting room open.

He glanced around and saw that the meeting room was filled with beautiful, well-dressed girls from the school of business.

And in a corner, there was Riley, who was still in a slumber.

There were a few of the girls trying to help him.

When Jack saw a particular one of them caring for Riley, he narrowed his eyes at Riley and cursed under his breath.

"What do you want? If you wanted to hide inside the meeting room, you could have asked!" One of the students pointed at Jack and shouted.

"I think you are mistaken." Jack gave a side-eye to one of his men and the guy hesitated for a moment.

Then, when the guy saw Jack staring at him, he took a deep breath and walked towards the student who had just spoken.

"What do you think you are doing?!" The student warned but the guy didn’t stop.

He kept walking towards the student and without any warning, he lunged at her and appeared in front of the student.

Before the student could even react, she could see herself getting closer to the ceiling as the guy had grabbed onto her throat and lifted her up.

Then, he flung her to the side as if the weight of the student was nothing to him.

Thud.

The student crashed into the wall and she gave out a whimper before she lost consciousness and lay on the ground motionlessly.

"I know that you have many questions, like how dare you do this, or, aren’t you afraid of the cops." Jack shrugged his shoulders and said nonchalantly before he adjusted his shirt.

"I can assure you that the old world order had already ceased to exist.

"So don’t you command me like you used to just because you are all pretty and nice looking.

"Whoever has the power rules this place now." He said and turned his focus on one of the students who was tending to Riley.

"Patricia, you’ve shamed me when you rejected me publicly.

"I’m giving you a chance for you to join me in this brave new world.

"Join me and I shall forgive you for what you did earlier to me."

Without hesitation, the student, Patricia, shook her head at him and said, "Are you crazy? The world is ending and this is all you can think of?

"You are nothing but a disgusting pile of shit to me."

Jack was calm and he smirked at Patricia.

He glanced at Riley who was unconscious and he glanced at his men.

His men nodded their heads and they walked towards Riley and Patricia.
