Chapter 77: Gore-Scaled Abyssal Behemoth III

CLICK! CLICK! CLICK!

Lothe vanished repeatedly, appearing to its left, then right, then behind. His movements became increasingly unpredictable, but the Behemoth began adapting.

A claw. A tail. A shockwave. A charge.

It’s learning my movement pattern, Lothe realized.

He teleported again, but the Behemoth immediately swung toward his arrival point!

CLANG!!

Lothe barely blocked, the force driving him backward as his arms trembled.

The Behemoth’s claws descended again. Lothe twisted his body sharply.

FWOOSH!

The claw grazed his robes, a tiny droplet of black venom landing on his sleeve.

SIZZLE!

The fabric began dissolving instantly. Lothe tore the damaged section away without hesitation, his eyes turning ice-cold.

One clean hit and I’m dead.

The Behemoth roared.

Lothe raised his spear, but instead of attacking immediately, he stared at the creature.

Something was wrong.

His spear techniques. His movement. His rhythm.

Everything felt rigid.

He had learned how to anchor space. He had learned how to move without wasting Qi. But his spearwork was still rigid, direct, and predictable.

His eyes suddenly widened as memories flashed through his mind.

Ye Cangming.

The Cursed Soul Butterfly Demon.

He remembered how the ancient demon’s scythe had moved across the battlefield—effortlessly flowing through every attack.

How did he wield it?

The memory grew crystalline.

He didn’t fight the weight of the attack. He didn’t force his technique through brute strength.

His scythe moved like fluid water. Light as a feather when transitioning... heavy as a mountain when striking.

Changing his tempo at will.

Lothe lowered his gaze toward the Void Spear in his hands.

I’ve been wielding the Void Spear like an iron bar...

The Behemoth charged once more.

Lothe didn’t retreat. His fingers loosened slightly around the shaft.

Space itself is fluid.

His eyes sharpened with newfound clarity.

My spear technique needs to match the fabric of space.

"ROAAAAAR!!"

The Behemoth swung its massive claw.

Lothe moved. Not faster. Not harder. Different.

His spear rotated naturally in his hand.

CLANG!!

The claw struck the shaft, but instead of resisting the force head-on, Lothe allowed the spear to rotate smoothly with the impact. His body followed the momentum, stepping around the blow.

The Behemoth’s claw passed harmlessly beside him. Lothe’s spear slid along its arm like liquid mercury.

Then—

SHING!

The spearhead struck the soft gap beneath the creature’s elbow joint!

BOOM!!

The Behemoth roared in pain!

Lothe’s eyes gleamed. That’s it!

He didn’t pursue the wound directly. Instead, he stepped back gracefully as the Behemoth swung its other claw.

Lothe rotated his posture. The spear moved in absolute harmony with his body.

CLANG!

The attack slid off the spatial cushion surrounding the shaft. Lothe stepped forward, his spear changing direction mid-glide.

SHING!

A spatial slash carved across the Behemoth’s scales. Not a brute thrust, but a precise, flowing cut.

The Behemoth staggered backward.

Lothe smiled. "So that’s what I was missing."

The Behemoth roared and unleashed another Abyssal Shockwave.

Lothe anchored himself instantly.

CLICK!

His body vanished, reappearing directly above the creature.

He rotated the spear once—a motion that felt smooth, natural, and weightless.

BOOM!

He drove the spear downward. The Behemoth raised its armored arm.

CLANG!!

The impact shook the clearing, launching Lothe backward, but this time he landed in a perfect, balanced stance.

His spear no longer felt like a weapon he was forcing into shape. It felt like an extension of space itself.

Suddenly—

SCREEEEEECH!!

A piercing, unnatural shriek shattered the night sky!

The trees violently shook as a second massive terror, lured by the commotion and the thick scent of blood, descended from the clouds—a Gore-Winged Night Gargoyle, its wingspan stretching over forty feet, radiating rabid Level 5 energy!

The Gargoyle dove straight toward Lothe’s exposed back, its razor-sharp beak aimed at his spine!

SHING!

A blinding wave of crimson light sliced through the dark sky, intercepting the diving Gargoyle mid-air!

BOOM!

Seana materialized beneath the flying terror, her dark, expressive eyes burning with lethal intent. Her [Blood Moon Sword] hummed with high-density Crimson Qi, locking the Gargoyle in place!

"Focus on your prey, Fox!" Seana shouted, her voice cold and commanding as crimson blood blades swirled around the Gargoyle. "This one is mine!"

Lothe smirked. "Got it!"

Turning his full attention back to the thrashing Behemoth, Lothe entered a state of complete, frictionless martial flow.

The Behemoth swung its massive arms wildly in a frenzy of rage, attempting to crush the human into dust.

SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!

Lothe danced around the giant like a ghost. Every strike was fluid, every dodge weightless.

When the Behemoth swung its left arm—CLICK!—Lothe anchored space and vanished, reappearing behind its right leg to carve a spatial slash into its tendon!

When the Behemoth spun around in fury—CLICK!—Lothe materialized directly above its shoulder, driving the spear into its neck joint before vanishing again before the creature’s counter-claw could touch him!

The Behemoth spun in wild, terrified circles, its massive arms flailing blindly at the empty air, completely helpless against the silent, fluid dancer weaving through its blind spots.

Lothe raised his hand, pointing the tip of his Void Spear at the creature’s chest.

"Now... let’s finish this."

BOOM!

Lothe threw his Void Spear with full rotational torque!

FWOOOOOOSH!!

The spear streaked forward like a beam of dark purple lightning! The Behemoth crossed its scale-armored forearms to form a defensive wall.

CLANGGGGGGG!!

The spearhead slammed into the thick armor, grinding against the scales in a shower of sparks!

In that exact microsecond—

CLICK.

A spatial anchor flared directly behind the flying spear!

SWISH!

Lothe vanished from thirty feet away, materializing mid-air behind his thrown weapon! His right hand clamped down with an iron grip onto the spear hilt.

His dark eyes flared with radiant purple light.

"Void Spear Art — Second Form..."

Lothe violently twisted the hilt with full rotational force, unleashing the micro-spatial blades embedded within the spearhead!

"...SPATIAL DRILL!!"

VRMMMMMMMM-SCREECH!!

The spatial drill tore directly through the Behemoth’s impenetrable armor, drilling straight into its heart!

BOOOOOOOOOOM!!

The gargantuan creature shuddered violently before collapsing onto the forest floor, its massive eyes dimming into lifelessness.

PING!

[You have slain a Level 5, Tier 3 Gore-Scaled Abyssal Behemoth]

[You have absorbed its Raw Qi]

[Rewards: +600 EXP Gaine]

Lothe landed lightly beside the corpse, retrieving his Void Spear with a fluid flick of his wrist.

Across the clearing, a final crimson arc severed the Night Gargoyle’s neck, sending its heavy body crashing down beside Seana.

She wiped her blade and walked over, a proud, beautiful smile gracing her lips as she looked at Lothe.

"Not bad, Little fox."

Lothe chuckled, stepping up beside her and taking her hand. "Not bad yourself, love."

Under the crimson moon, the two standing side by side were no longer just survivors of the apocalypse—they were true masters carving their own path through the Great Era.
