Chapter 217: Inviting the Holy Knight

The death of Ignis sent a wave of shock through the demons.

It was as though countless possibilities were fighting for the chance to become reality.

Belzura immediately noticed Jeremiah’s Radiant ability and only became more exasperated.

She thought Danny was already an annoying enough tactician, but now another had emerged—and a Radiant Knight at that.

Just as she went all out, commanding the demons to fight back against the demon hunters commanded by Danny and Jeremiah, she was shocked when the burning sigil she had marked upon one of the captains suddenly vanished.

She immediately glanced toward the direction the burning sigil had come from before it vanished and saw a Radiant Knight wearing a rapier gracefully land behind Scylla, whose eyes had already lost their vitality.

Her mouth was wide open.

Her slender, almost humanoid body was covered in lacerated wounds, each exuding a blinding light from the Radiant Mana.

Every single wound was fatal.

She glanced at Fiora, who also glanced at her.

She felt a chill run down her spine.

Just as she was about to retreat, Fiora disappeared and appeared in the main battlefield—yet her eyes remained fixated on Belzura.

Her Flash Step covered only a short distance, so she had to constantly use it to reach Belzura.

To her surprise, she could no longer use Flash Step when she arrived at the battlefield.

She frowned and noticed that the space in the main battlefield had become unstable, causing her teleportation ability to fail.

She turned toward the Greater Demon responsible for the change in space.

It was Tharvok, the Rift Binder.

Tharvok possessed a broad, muscular body with four arms, each covered in glowing abyssal runes.

His skin was dark blue-black and appeared slightly translucent around his limbs, revealing streams of crimson energy beneath it.

A large circular rune was embedded in his chest.

His four arms constantly performed different gestures as he manipulated space.

His horns curved sideways like broken rings.

His eyes resembled small spatial rifts, containing swirling darkness rather than pupils.

Tharvok constantly manipulated the space throughout the main battlefield, even causing Damon’s skirmishes to slow down significantly.

After his surprising kill against Drazhul, he had failed to kill another Greater Demon since then.

In fact, most of his movements now consisted of retreating and running, barely able to release arrows from his shortbows.

Tharvok was somewhat far from Fiora, and the latter immediately faced the assault of other Greater Demons, having no choice but to rely on her speed to fight back against them while ignoring Belzura.

Fiora found it even more difficult to fight the Greater Demons commanded by Vexir.

Vexir was now almost at the center of the main battlefield, where his commanding aura covered every demon.

Those demons received increased strength, reaction speed, physical resistance, mana efficiency, coordination, and morale.

At the same time, he established a temporary mental communication network between allied demons within his command range.

Their resistance was becoming increasingly desperate. The Radiant Knights continued to advance, while the demon hunters steadily reduced the number of demons protecting the captains. The battlefield was slowly becoming a place where every surviving demon was forced to fight with everything it had.

Now, Varkhaz felt the dilemma of whether to help his legion or remain passive until he found a chance to kill the bearer of the Authority of Radiant Contract.

Just as he pondered this, he noticed Max staring at him—his eyes cold and brimming with Radiant Mana.

Varkhaz finally realized that unless he made a move and killed Max, his legion could not win against him.

Varkhaz gripped the Ashrender tightly.

His subtle movement was caught by Max’s eyes, and he immediately understood that Varkhaz was about to make a move.

Sweeping his gaze across the main battlefield, he realized that he must avoid having his Radiant Knights focus on Varkhaz.

Until Varkhaz’s captains were completely eradicated, he could not shift the attention of his busy Radiant Knights elsewhere.

As Varkhaz took a step forward and slowly ran toward Max, Max turned toward the Holy Knight and said,

"Do you want to fight that giant demon?"
