Chapter 226 A storage ability?

Meanwhile, Antelope and his subordinates, who had been hiding among the thick bushes while waiting for an opportunity to attack, finally stepped out of their hiding place. They had intended to launch an ambush earlier, but the moment they noticed Ivy hasn’t moved her grains and even heard her this morning that she would return later for her grains, they had immediately abandoned the idea.

"Oh yeah!" Antelope burst into loud, sinister laughter. "She’s a fool after all. She actually believed I left." His lips curled into a smug grin as he turned toward two of his strongest men. "Get inside that warehouse and start loading the truck with those grains. Hurry up before that arrogant woman comes back. I want her to go completely insane when she realizes every single grain is gone."

"Yes, Commander!"

The soldiers from Antelope Base immediately nodded before marching into the warehouse without wasting another second.

Meanwhile, Antelope remained outside beside the truck with a satisfied smile plastered across his face. He casually took another bite from the apple in his hand, chewing slowly as if victory had already been decided.

He could already imagine the furious expression that would appear on Ivy’s face. Just thinking about it made him grin even wider.

"Commander!" A panicked voice suddenly rang out from inside the warehouse. One of the soldiers came sprinting out with a terrified expression on his face, breathing heavily as though he had just seen a ghost. "It’s... it’s gone!"

Antelope frowned.

"Gone? What’s gone?"

"The grains..." The soldier swallowed nervously. "There’s nothing inside, Commander."

For a brief moment, Antelope simply stared at him then his expression darkened.

"What do you mean they’re gone?" he roared. "We stayed awake the entire night watching Ivy! We all clearly saw that her grains were never loaded into the Fiercehunter Base’s trucks, so what the hell are you talking about now? Do you think I have time for your stupid pranks?"

Before the soldier could react, Antelope delivered a powerful kick to his stomach, sending him crashing onto the ground.

"Get back in there and bring the grains out, you idiot!"

The soldier clutched his aching stomach before hurriedly shaking his head.

"I’m telling the truth, Commander." His voice trembled, yet he remained firm. "If you don’t believe me, then come inside and see for yourself."

His serious expression made Antelope hesitate and slowly, he turned his gaze toward the other soldiers standing nearby.

"Is he saying the truth?"

Every single one of them nodded their heads in response and without wasting another second, Antelope threw the half-eaten apple in his hand onto the ground before storming into the warehouse.

The moment he stepped inside, his footsteps came to an abrupt halt. The two storage rooms that had been packed from floor to ceiling with bags of grain only a short while ago were now completely empty. Not a single sack remained.

"What...?" Antelope’s pupils shrank."What the hell happened overnight?" His voice was barely above a whisper as disbelief filled his eyes.

He even checked behind the broken shelves and in every corner of the rooms as though expecting the grains to magically appear but there was nothing.

"Don’t tell me..." he muttered under his breath, his face gradually turning darker. "That woman doesn’t only have a water ability... Does she also possess another ability that no one else has?" His breathing became heavier. "A storage ability?"

He clenched both fists tightly. "Because where the hell did all those grains disappear to?"

One of the soldiers slowly stepped forward. "Commander... she must have that ability."

Antelope turned to glare at him promting the soldier to lower his head but continued speaking.

"Nothing is impossible in the apocalypse anymore. We’ve already seen people awaken all kinds of strange abilities. A storage ability... it’s not completely unbelievable."

Those words only caused Antelope’s anger to explode even further.

"Ivy!!!"

His furious roar echoed throughout the empty warehouse, startling several birds perched outside into flight.

The veins on his forehead bulged as murderous intent flashed across his eyes and without another word, he spun around and strode out of the warehouse.

"We’re going after that bitch," he growled coldly. "But we’ll follow her discreetly." His eyes narrowed dangerously. "I want to know exactly where her base is located."

A cruel smile slowly spread across his face. "And I also want to find out exactly what kind of person she really is." He cracked his knuckles as he continued. "I refuse to believe there’s someone I can’t deal with."

"Yes, Commander!" the soldiers answered in unison as they all quickly climbed into their truck, with Antelope entering last before slamming the door shut and just like that the truck began moving....not toward the main road that Ivy and the others had taken, but deep into the forest.

Although the route through the dense woods was far rougher and slower, it ultimately led toward the same destination.

More importantly, the towering trees and thick vegetation would conceal their movements, allowing Antelope and his men to shadow Ivy’s convoy without being easily discovered.
