Chapter 245 Purchase them all!

Without wasting any more time, Ivy made her way toward the room where her children, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Smith’s daughter, were resting.

The children didn’t appear in the just-concluded meeting between Ivy and the survivors because Mrs. Smith considered it an adult meeting, and she didn’t bother telling the children that their mother was already around. She wanted them to concentrate on their studies instead.

Even when the children had heard the sound of the vehicle earlier, Mrs. Smith had told them that they were only thinking too much about their mother, which was why they thought they had heard the sound of the truck. And just like the little children that they were, they believed her without questioning it.

"When do you think Mommy will be back?" Lila asked with a sad expression on her face as she played with her toy. "I miss her so much."

"I miss her too, terribly, Lila," Anya chimed in, with so much sadness written all over her face. She then turned toward Hope, who was already fast asleep in her crib. "Hope misses her too, I believe. She’s going to be a year old soon. I’m sure she misses Mommy just as much as we do."

"You both shouldn’t worry. Captain Ivy will be back before we know it," Pearl chimed in with a heavy sigh. "I’m sure she’s out there saving people as usual. I miss her too. Especially her candies."

"We can only wait for her to return. There’s absolutely nothing else we can do," Lila voiced out with a heavy sigh as she held Anya and Pearl’s tiny hands. "We should all go to bed now. Mrs. Smith didn’t allow us out of the room since morning because it’s been a while since we studied, but I’m sure we already made it up to her today. I’m so tired right now, so I believe we should all sleep. Who knows what kind of equations she’ll be giving us again tomorrow?"

"That’s right. I really need to rest my little brain," Pearl agreed, while Anya nodded her head in agreement as well. "Goodnight then."

Without wasting much time, the three girls got into their beds and covered their bodies with blankets. Afterward, Lila, who was closest to the light switch, reached out and switched it to a calm blue light, filling the room with a soft and peaceful glow.

Ivy stood at the door, a sad expression on her face as she listened to her children’s words. Even though she wanted to walk in and meet them, she knew the happiness would only last for a short while because she would be going on another mission soon. She didn’t want to break the girls’ hearts so quickly after finally returning to them.

"Mrs. Smith is right. It’s better to allow them to know I’m back when I’m sure I won’t be leaving anytime soon," Ivy murmured under her breath with a heavy sigh, her gaze still fixed on her children. "I love you, my darlings. Mother will be back soon to spend the whole day with you."

I better go and make preparations for the Urban Star Field mission. Darren should have rested properly by now, so we can both leave then, Ivy thought to herself.

With that, she moved away from the children’s room and headed toward her own personal room.

"Alright, System. I’ll be needing everything that’ll help with this new mission. I’ve already made up my mind that I’ll be going," Ivy said immediately after stepping into her room and taking a seat.

"I need the AKs, rocket launchers, ammunition, and zip lines. I want to purchase all of them. Let me know if I’m short on points, but I’m sure the points I have should be enough to purchase everything and still leave me with some points."

"Then purchase them all," Ivy replied, her tone serious.

"Good and there’s absolutely no need to show me. I can see how it looks like already from your interface." Ivy replied with a satisfied smile on her face, only to yawn a moment later. "I need to get some rest too. Tomorrow is going to be a big day for Darren and me, after all. I really need to recharge my energy."

With that, Ivy moved toward her bed and lay down on it, waiting for sleep to claim her. It didn’t take long before she drifted off, as she was already completely exhausted.
