“What? You don’t want me to kill her?” Darren raised an eyebrow, confusion evident on his face. “If she turns into a monster, she’ll attack us. We can’t afford to take that risk!”

“I know what I’m doing,” Ivy replied firmly, her expression serious. “Besides, there’s no point wasting time arguing about this. Let’s all move together and remain vigilant. We don’t know what else might be lurking around, so everyone needs to stay alert.”

With that, she continued searching for the exit without wasting another second. The others exchanged brief glances before quickly following behind her.

“By the way, the first-floor car dealership has several drivable cars,” Antelope announced excitedly.

He was currently walking ahead of Ivy, having taken it upon himself to guide the group through the building. However, despite his position at the front, everyone still regarded Ivy as their leader and followed her instructions without question.

Ding!

{You’re almost there, Host.}

“We’re almost there, everyone!” Ivy announced, her voice carrying enough excitement to lift the spirits of the exhausted group.

Unlike the others, she had the advantage of her system, which she had already summoned to help locate the nearest exit. Now that they were so close to their destination, she couldn’t help feeling relieved.

Growls~

Bang!

Before anyone could react, a gunshot suddenly rang through the air.

The bullet struck the approaching monster directly in the head, blowing it apart instantly. Blood and pieces of rotten flesh splattered across the floor as the creature’s lifeless body collapsed.

A foul stench immediately spread through the surroundings, causing everyone to instinctively cover their noses.

“It’s Rose! She’s actually turned into a monster!” one of the students exclaimed, recognizing the familiar face despite its horrifying transformation.

The other students exchanged frightened glances, unable to conceal their shock. They had known Rose before the apocalypse, and seeing someone they once considered a friend turn into such a terrifying creature was certainly unsettling.

“There’s no doubt that the other monsters will soon find their way here,” Elliot suddenly remarked, his expression turning grim. “With the strong smell of blood and rotten flesh, they’ll realize that one of their kind has been killed here. It’s only a matter of time before this entire place is crawling with monsters.”

“Then let’s hurry!” Ivy responded immediately, not wanting to waste another second. “And if those monsters do find us, we’ll be ready to fight. Everyone, stay alert and don’t fall behind!”

The others nodded in agreement before continuing to follow her.

They hurried through the building, carefully navigating the corridors as they searched for the exit. However, after walking for what felt like an eternity, the sound of approaching footsteps suddenly began to fill the air.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

The increasingly heavy footsteps echoed through the building, sending waves of fear through the group. The students, in particular, couldn’t help feeling their hearts tighten as they realized something was approaching them.

Growls~

“They’re here!” Ivy announced the moment her gaze caught sight of the approaching creatures.

One monster appeared around the corner, followed by another, then a third. More figures soon emerged from the darkness, their grotesque appearances and bloodthirsty growls making it clear that they had already caught the group’s scent.

“Everyone, hurry!” Ivy shouted, immediately quickening her pace.

Fortunately, she spotted a door nearby and rushed towards it. Without hesitation, she pulled it open, allowing the students to rush inside first. The soldiers followed closely behind, making sure none of the students were left behind, before Ivy finally slipped through the doorway just as the monsters closed in.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The monsters immediately began throwing their bodies against the door, producing deafening bangs that echoed through the enclosed space.

Fortunately, it was a sturdy metal door. Moreover, Ivy had already activated her protective barrier, reinforcing it and preventing the creatures from breaking through.

“Phew! That was incredibly close,” Darren murmured, bending slightly as he struggled to catch his breath. His chest rose and fell rapidly from the frantic dash, while the others around him were equally exhausted.

“We’re finally here!” Antelope suddenly exclaimed, a wide smile spreading across his face.

His words prompted everyone to lift their heads and look around. Only then did they realize that they had successfully reached their destination.

The first-floor car dealership!

Right before them was a spacious showroom filled with vehicles of different makes and models. Several cars were neatly arranged across the floor, their polished bodies reflecting the overhead lights.

For a moment, the students couldn’t help staring at the impressive collection of vehicles. After everything they had just gone through, seeing so many potential means of escape was a welcome relief.

However, Ivy wasn’t about to waste time admiring the cars.

Just then, following the plan she had already discussed with Darren, he stepped forward and approached another door leading out of the showroom.

“Alright, students, let’s move!” Darren instructed, pulling the door open to reveal a corridor on the other side. “Everyone, follow me. Don’t wander off, and make sure you stay together!”

Without wasting any time, the students immediately followed him through the doorway. Having no reason to doubt that this was part of Ivy’s plan, they obediently did as instructed.

The soldiers also followed Darren, leaving the spacious showroom one after another.

Before long, everyone had left.

Only Ivy and Antelope remained in the showroom.
