Apocalyptic Disasters: Carrying a bun and hoarding supplies
Chapter 908: Help To Seer
Wang Fugui did not want to beg in front of Bai Meiyue. He knew that the woman would save him; she was the only one who could save him from the horrifying visions that were causing him insufferable suffering. These days, he was filled with visions that made him woozy and made him vomit for several days. However, he also knew that if he took Bai Meiyue’s help, then the woman would certainly make him work for her for his entire life.
Just thinking about it made him feel a bit choked up but at the same time, Wang Fugui was worried that if he did not ask for Bai Meiyue’s help, there was a good chance he might die. He could no longer withstand the suffering that he was going through at the moment.
Bai Meiyue arched a brow. She looked at the man in front of her and simply said, "Are you sure that you want my help? You know that I do not offer anything for free; even those who live in my safe base will have to eventually take out their crystal nuclei or help me around the safe base. Are you perfectly clear on what you are asking?"
Meng Suisui tugged on her sleeves. She was silently telling Bai Meiyue to be a bit nicer to Wang Fugui. The man was already having enough trouble as it was; there was no need for her to be this rude to him.
However, Bai Meiyue simply rolled her eyes and ignored her. She knew that Meng Suisui was feeling sorry for Wang Fugui, but this business was a separate matter. She could not let Meng Suisui’s sympathy come between her business with Wang Fugui. After all, the woman was too nice, but she was not. She looked at the benefits she could gain before she made a decision to help someone.
"I know." Wang Fugui’s eyes were closed, and he did not see Meng Suisui stopping Bai Meiyue, but he still smiled and said, "I asked Sister Meng to go to you after thinking things through. As long as you can help me out, I am willing to do anything to serve you." He would rather become Bai Meiyue’s servant than suffer like this. He was getting crazier day by day.
"Sister Yueyue." Seeing that the man was in too much pain, Meng Suisui could not help but speak up for him, but when she saw Bai Meiyue look at her with a glance, she fell silent.
After dealing with Meng Suisui, Bai Meiyue turned to look at Wang Fugui. She said to him, "Give me a few hours, then I will tell you if I can help you or not. Of course, if I manage to help you, then you can forget about living without repaying the grace that you owe me." Since he was a seer, he could be of much use to her. Especially if she wanted to find out where that doctor was hiding.
"Sure." He had already suffered enough; it did not matter if he suffered a little more. As long as he could end this suffering, he was willing.
Bai Meiyue nodded and took her leave. However, before she left the tent, she turned and looked at the man. "My son’s full moon banquet will be held on the eighteenth. If you want, you can always come and enjoy the banquet."
At first, Wang Fugui did not understand what Bai Meiyue meant, but then he thought about how she had always been cold on the surface but soft in her heart; he lowered his head and smiled. It seemed like Bai Meiyue was not as bad as he thought. At least she was willing to be kind to him.
Bai Meiyue had no idea what Wang Fugui was thinking, and even if she did, she would not have cared about him. The man was too foolish if he thought that she was kind. She was making him work for her, and in return she was only giving him some kindness in exchange; if that made her kind, then the man had something very wrong with his head.
However, before she returned home, she thought about something and sent someone to look for Wang Fugui asking for something from them.
She returned to her home and went straight to her room; she first placed her son in the crib after he fell asleep and then opened the barter system. The space bucked with a sound of tearing silk, and the room shifted in a fraction of a second. Suddenly, the room was smelling of ozone, burnt sugar and intense dry heat.
The violent tear widened into the familiar white hall, and standing in the room was a man with silver hair and eyes that matched his silvery locks. But there was something amiss about him.
The man was slender and looked like every other human being except for the fact that the man had four eyes instead of two. He wore robes woven from shimmering fibre optic that flickered like it was scrolling code.
"Miss Bai," began Kael with a smile on his lips. His voice echoed as if two people were speaking together at the same time. "You asked for quite something. I trust you are not wasting my time by calling me here for nothing?"
"I have no intention of wasting anyone’s time. My time is just as precious as yours." Bai Meiyue ran a hand through her locks and spoke smoothly. She stepped close to the barter table and added, "I have something that is not anything standard."
Kael tapped two fingers on the table before a holographic interface appeared in front of his eyes. "My current requirements require unrefined cores of the zombies. After all, you cannot offer anything more than this to me."
Bai Meiyue narrowed her eyes before pulling out a heavy, leather-bound folder from her coat and tossing it on the table.
The archivist blinked; three of his eyes zoomed in on the book before a thin, metallic tendril appeared from between his fingers. He scanned the handwritten notes that were inside the book and his eyes widened.
