Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus
Chapter 1894: Armed Helicopter Squadron, Established!
The trees around the building were all burned to ash, forming a piece of charcoal.
On the other side.
Li Gang was maneuvering a drone to patrol the surroundings, not just to guard against zombies, but more out of fear that there might be other survivors here, though the possibility was very low.
Third Uncle walked into the helicopter where Li Yu was, and after sitting down, he said to Li Yu, “Xiao Yu, I just estimated that we shouldn’t need a second trip back to the base. We can fly back to the base, five hundred kilometers, that’s almost enough.”
Li Yu heard this and said, “That’s great, but flying with six helicopters simultaneously at night, in the dark, is hard to see. I think it’s better to return early tomorrow morning. What do you think?”
“I think the same. Although it’s cooler at night, for safety’s sake, daytime is better.”
Li Yu nodded and said, “Alright, then it’s settled. We’ll return to the base early tomorrow morning!”
“Okay.”
After finishing, Third Uncle left the helicopter.
During the time Third Uncle was away, Yang Tianlong and the others packed some usable parts that Luo and his group had dismantled from the wrecked helicopters and loaded them onto the other four helicopters.
Now that Third Uncle and the others returned with fuel, they immediately unloaded the fuel barrels and refueled the other four helicopters.
“Tianlong, come over and eat something!” Li Yu descended from the helicopter and called out to Yang Tianlong, who was not far away.
Yang Tianlong replied, “Later, after I finish refueling.”
With the effort of about ten people, they spent an hour and finally fueled the six helicopters.
But they weren’t fully fueled; on average, each helicopter only had enough fuel to fly 700 kilometers, but that was enough to return to the base.
Once refueled, they arranged for tonight’s night patrol.
Everyone took their sleeping bags and spread out to rest in the six helicopters.
The night was somewhat cold, so they all brought sleeping bags.
Over twenty people, spread across six helicopters, averaging four or five people per helicopter, so there was enough space for everyone to lie down.
Accompanied by the howling of zombies and the whistling wind, with a faint smell of burnt char in the air, they rested peacefully.
A night has passed.
Li Yu opened his eyes, rubbing his somewhat sore shoulders.
For some reason, as soon as he got up, his shoulders felt a bit sore.
But after doing dozens of push-ups, the soreness improved considerably.
Looking outside through the fabric strips, it was clear the sun was already out.
He put on his helmet and walked out of the helicopter.
By now, several others had already woken up outside.
“Almost ready, let’s prepare to depart,” Third Uncle came over and told him.
Li Yu looked at the sky, the sun rising over the mountain top.
The nuclear-radiated zombies around the buildings were still there, but the regular zombies were nowhere to be seen.
Half an hour later, everyone was up.
They performed another check on the helicopters, and after making sure everything was secure, everyone boarded the six helicopters.
Given Third Uncle and their extensive piloting experience, each of the four helicopters was handled by them.
The remaining two were piloted by the two most experienced pilots they had brought along.
“Let’s go! Back to the base!” Li Yu took the walkie-talkie and connected with everyone.
Buzz Buzz Buzz—
Li Yu sat in Third Uncle’s helicopter as it gradually took off.
Then another helicopter followed suit.
Soon, six helicopters formed into a single line, heading mightily toward Big Camphor Tree Base.
This trip, arguably, was the smoothest one since they started scavenging for resources.
With these newly added four helicopters, they had more confidence in facing the Northern Territory Federation!
Li Yu looked at the armed helicopters on both sides; with six helicopters, it could be considered an armed helicopter convoy!
