Armed Train in the Apocalypse
Chapter 954: All Rivers Flow to the Sea (Part 9)
The storm subsided slightly, the iceberg melted.
Shu Wei smacked her lips in satisfaction, although the man’s power had become stronger than before, but she always felt something was missing.
After hesitating for a moment, “Hmm, how about your ability?”
Su Huan squinted his eyes slightly, “What do you mean?”
A barely noticeable energy appeared at the tips of five fingers, flowing one by one, the crackling sound echoed inside the office.
Amid flickering lightning, the conductor’s shock and laughter flashed by.
Two hours later, everything was as usual, except all the energy storage devices in the entire Black Kite base were filled up.
When everyone returned again, the glass in the office had regained its transparency, the long-haired man with narrow eyes sat in the chair belonging to the highest leader of Black Kite, his feet casually resting on the desk.
And the usually noble and aloof Miss Hei Yuan stood like a secretary beside him, respectfully answering the man’s questions, though her body occasionally trembled with fear.
Su Huan casually flipped through the top-secret files on the desk, “Is the entire Black Kite under your control now?”
“Yes.”
Shu Wei’s voice was calm, but her slightly raised chin revealed her pride.
“And Mr. Shu?”
“At home comforting his wife.”
“Pfft…”
Su Huan chuckled silently, unexpectedly realizing his little secretary was quite formidable.
But then he remembered something, “Where is Number 1?”
Shu Wei’s gray-blue eyes revealed a hint of confusion, “Didn’t he die?”
Su Huan’s hand paused, his eyes half-squinting; the original Number 1 served as a wet object in his car, unable to transmit information, a new clone should awaken every six months, and it’s been nearly three years now?
Three years without showing up?
This doesn’t fit that guy’s character.
In the next moment, his narrow eyes pierced through the office’s transparent glass, locking onto a staff member dressed in a white shirt.
The other’s age was about thirty-something, medium build, with a little stubble on his chin, engaged in conversation with another person.
Shu Wei followed his gaze, though not knowing why Su Huan focused on him, relevant information immediately slipped out.
“Zhuang Fei, entered Black Kite four years before the apocalypse, now in his ninth year, a clean resume, no other company background. Medium ability, personally transferred by me to the administrative department two years ago. Is there a problem?”
Su Huan clicked his tongue, beckoned to the person with a finger, the dozing Giraffe outside suddenly opened its eyes and walked towards him, Bai Lu and others subtly surrounding him in the center.
The colleague talking to Zhuang Fei suddenly realized he wasn’t speaking anymore, and called out to him twice.
Zhuang Fei, originally speaking peacefully, seemed suddenly possessed, his voice indifferent and perplexed, “Tens of thousands of people’s material transfer plan, can’t be done in three days. What’s the point of keeping you?”
The colleague’s expression abruptly changed, about to reprimand, when he noticed the atmosphere wasn’t right, turning to see Giraffe and others, immediately freezing in place.
Giraffe waved a hand, and only then was the colleague allowed to step away.
Only Zhuang Fei remained, seeming unchanged, yet his presence was distinctly different.
Giraffe squinted, scrutinizing him, unsure and slightly leaning to the side, “The conductor requests your presence, let’s go.”
In front of everyone, Zhuang Fei calmly stepped into the innermost office, as the door closed, all sounds were isolated.
Looking at the man more perfect than in the records, Zhuang Fei asked puzzled, “Why can you always accurately find my clone body?”
Su Huan observed him with interest, “You inherited the memory?”
Zhuang Fei, technically “Number 1”, faced the conductor’s inquiry, shook his head confidently.
“The previous one didn’t transfer back the memory, I learned about the battle in the Plant Zone elsewhere. I guess you have the ability to discover clones, yet this time I did very few modifications, how did you discover it?”
Shu Wei gave Number 1 a deep look, not expecting her adversary to have been hiding by her side all along.
Previously she thought she had a good grip on Black Kite, if it weren’t for Su Huan’s arrival…
A sense of relief surfaced in the woman’s heart.
As for Su Huan being able to discover Number 1, it was no surprise, wasn’t that natural?
Su Huan said blandly, “I can sense you know me, but you shouldn’t know me.”
Number 1 startled, “Sense? Is it a tier difference? Oh, I get it, we access information at different levels, hence no matter how I disguise, I’m transparent to you.”
Su Huan cheerfully snapped his fingers, talking with a smart person is indeed different.
Though he hasn’t reached omniscience, Evolutioners below Tier Three have no secrets before him. His perception reached more microscopic levels, constantly acquiring massive amounts of information from the environment, then passively analyzing, integrating, presenting an answer akin to intuition, yet more accurate than intuition.
Equivalent to an exam, where others take it closed-book, but his is open-book, and not just open-book, but he also roams as the invigilator.
And these don’t even count as abilities, merely bonus gifts from evolution.
“So how will you handle me?”
Number 1 asked calmly.
“Handle?” Su Huan raised his eyebrows, “You have a deep misunderstanding of me.”
Thinking of the previous version still serving as a wet piece on the train, Number 1’s eyelid twitched, Su Huan speaking so much clearly intended to extract greater value from him.
This was a lunatic more dangerous than a pervert, fundamentally not believing in Su Huan’s transformation, merely better disguised.
Detecting Number 1’s silence, Su Huan skipped the delightful banter, regretfully said, “Let’s be candid, how many clone bodies do you have now?”
