“You escaped from here back then?”

Ma Hongyu waved his hand, and layer upon layer of near-imperceptible sound waves spread out, echoing through this city of blistering heat.

“Damn, there’s actually a lot of big guys around. There’s some godforsaken place with more than a dozen Tier Three things squatting like they’re hibernating. You can’t even hear them. If my probing method hadn’t improved a lot, I might’ve walked right in and gotten swallowed whole!”

Light and shadow alternated in Su Huan’s eyes as he said calmly, “Not here. A bit farther.”

Ma Hongyu looked at him like he’d seen a ghost. “My precise scan covers dozens of kilometers. How are you going farther than me?”

“Different paths to the same destination.”

Ah Duo said softly from the side.

No matter the profession, the later the stage, the more terrifying the gains brought by evolution became. By Tier Four, even one’s weakest Domain could surpass a Tier Three’s strongest Domain.

Ma Hongyu’s brow twitched. “Looks like Teacher was right. Every evolution path is pushing an Evolver toward the final God Throne.”

A faintly strange glint surfaced in Ah Duo’s eyes. She hadn’t expected this chatterbox to have such a formidable teacher.

But the High Priest had once said that in this era, only one person could walk all the way to the final God Throne.

Before leaving the Wind Snow Zone, she had asked the High Priest once more.

The other party had said that no matter how many times she asked, her answer would never change.

Watching the conductor’s back as he walked ahead, Ah Duo pressed her lips together and silently followed.

Su Huan paid no attention to the two of them. All his focus was on sweeping through every human and beast within his perception range.

Many years ago, Hundred Beasts had already been a Tier Three Evolver. Now his fame was even more fearsome; he had to have advanced to Tier Four by now. Once he found the man and reasoned with him, this Rule Stone in the High Temperature Zone would be as good as settled.

If he couldn’t even find Hundred Beasts, then that man didn’t deserve such a great reputation.

As they moved, wisps of Tier Four peak-level aura were released. All energy began to boil, a silent roar of mountains and seas rising in tumult to welcome their king.

In the ruins—above in the sky and beneath the earth—all Evolution Beasts vaguely sensed Su Huan’s existence. That terrifying sense of oppression stripped them of all rationality. Driven purely by instinct, they abandoned their shelters and nests, fleeing toward farther distances.

Even the corpse hordes began to migrate on a massive scale by instinct alone. Only those at Tier Three and above could withstand this aura, hovering in place with fearful uncertainty.

Within a radius of a hundred kilometers, every Tier Four Lifeform—whether enraged or suspicious—was forced to move in Su Huan’s direction.

Because Su Huan’s aura had already locked onto them.

…

At a certain commercial plaza, corpse tides surged around, yet not a single zombie dared step onto the marble floor at the very center.

A terrifying creature eight meters tall, like a mountain of flesh, stood in the middle. Its skin was cracked and purple, lines like stretch marks covering its entire body, radiating a savage, violent fluctuation. In its hand it held a massive chain, and at the end of the chain was a ship anchor.

The anchor used to moor a giant vessel looked like a delicate bracelet in this creature’s hand.

Governor——

The exclusive title for the Butcher after advancing to Tier Four.

Each one of them was a calamity no less than a natural disaster to humanity.

For such a creature, whose physique had evolved to the extreme, let alone buildings—even an Armed Train that had undergone four rounds of refitting couldn’t ram it down, and could only rely on Tier Four Evolvers to hold it in check.

At this moment, the Governor’s black, mung-bean-like pupils were locked firmly on the rooftop opposite.

On it sprawled a humanoid creature more than five meters long, its entire body pitch-black like ink. Even under the scorching sunlight, there were no contours to be seen; even the surrounding light seemed faintly absorbed into it.

Only when its arms opened and closed did the eyeballs on its ribs emit a strange, eerie glow.

A Tier Four zombie evolved from a Night Demon—the Night General—was likewise staring fixedly at the Governor below.

“Boom!”

The pitch-black silhouette vanished from the rooftop. Thunderstorm-like sonic howls reverberated layer by layer between the buildings. No figure could be seen; only building after building shattered to pieces, collapsing as the zombies standing atop them fell like dumplings to the ground, turning into indistinguishable piles of meat sludge.

Compared to the Night General’s blistering speed, the Governor was like a clumsy fat man, able only to twist his head in small, awkward motions.

His mung-bean eyes suddenly went pitch-black.

The clash of Rules had already begun ahead of the physical fight.

With a roar, three razor-sharp claws instantly plunged into his neck. A body tough as metal parted like butter. The Night General grabbed his cervical spine with one hand, the other hand rising high before stabbing viciously down toward the top of the Governor’s head.

The simple, honest grin on the Governor’s face twisted into something incomparably ferocious in that instant.

With a boom, the Night General, who had held the upper hand, was smashed aside by a massive object swinging in from the side, driven straight into the neighboring building.

The high-rise collapsed, the rubble burying him within.

The attacker was none other than the ship anchor in the Governor’s hand.

The Governor swung the thick chain, walking step by step toward the rubble. Each footfall shattered the ground, the rumbling never ceasing.

“Puchi!”

Three sharp claws thrust out from the ruins, piercing through the Governor’s thick, meaty sole, yet he showed not the slightest sign of pain. Instead, he looked down in surprise and delight.

The ship anchor in his hand slammed down savagely. From the gaps in the rubble, black blood spurted more than three meters high.

The entire plaza echoed with those terrifying “boom, boom, boom” sounds.

Under the rubble, the Night General lashed out with his claws in counterattack, yet his roars and struggles grew weaker and weaker.
