Chapter 226. Interrupted Moment

Dean Wembley was currently seated on a couch with someone.

The two were seated not too far from each other. The clothes they were wearing looked messy.

The atmosphere was a bit awkward.

"We need to talk about what just happened, Arica," Wembley said as he buttoned his shirt.

"What is there to talk about?" Arica asked with an innocent expression.

"Zip it up for me," she said.

Wembley nodded.

He held the zip of her dress, gulped as lustful images flashed through his mind, and zipped it up for her.

"Like what you see, Wembley? Let me tell you what just happened. I know you have feelings for me, and I have feelings for you. Eventually, this was bound to happen. Let’s not overcomplicate things." Arica turned to look at him, and wrapped her hand around his shoulders.

"Sigh. You are right," Wembley said. "I’m just worried about how my kids will feel when they find out.."

"I understand," Arica said. "But they are adults now who are living their lives. And your wife was the one who divorced you. Why should you be worried about what your children will think? They will all marry one day and only care about their wives and children. If your wife had passed away or something, I would have been a bit concerned about their thoughts on you moving on. Children take that kind of thing hard. Makes them feel like you are betraying their mother. But, you and your wife are divorced for fuck’s sake."

Wembley looked at Arica quietly.

Everything she said hit him hard.

He had always been scared to move on after the divorce. His ex-wife left him for another man because according to her, he had been too busy with his responsibilities as a warrior and had neglected his home.

Because of this, he had dedicated most of his time to his kids after the divorce. If he was not on campus, he would be spending time with them.

This was why he spent less time on cultivating and had not broken into rank 4.

He had also been concerned about the fact that his children would feel betrayed if he remarried or dated someone, instead of focusing all his time on them.

But now, the kids were grown-ups living their own lives..

So, why should he be worried about their opinions?

They were fine without him.

He would always be their father. But he also had to live his life.

"You make me happy Arica," Wembley said as he cupped her face in his hands.

Arica blushed and bit her lip sweetly.

"During my divorce, you were the person who stood by me the most, apart from my senior brother, senior sister and master," Wembley said. "You didn’t take advantage of my vulnerability at the time to influence me into a relationship. You respected me and gave me time to heal. What happened today is not a mistake. And I’m sorry for overthinking things."

Arica pulled him forward and kissed him.

Finally, the man she had always loved had reciprocated her feelings.

She felt very happy.

"I want to ask you to be my girlfriend but it feels wrong on every level. How about we skip that process entirely. I can get you a ring and you know.." Wembley said.

Arica chuckled.

"This is the most unromantic marriage proposal I’ve ever heard. I will marry you Wembley."

"Yess!!!" Wembley clenched his fist excitedly.

"Care for another round?" Arica looked at him and bit her lip. She sat down in a seductive posture. She was about to ask Wembley to help her unbutton her dress.

"Damn ..I must be the luckiest man on the planet," Wembley said.

Suddenly,.

Someone rang the doorbell.

Tundoong...!

"Someone is at the door?" Arica said.

"Who could it be? Damn it," Wembley cursed. "They really picked the right time didn’t they?"

"Let me see who it is." Arica stood up. Had it been previously, she would have been concerned about opening Wembley’s door. Not that she cared about people’s opinion. She just didn’t want to give people an impression about something that was not true, only to have Wembley not reciprocate her feelings.

But now, they were engaged.

Heck, if someone saw her kissing him in public, she wouldn’t give a crap.

Wembley looked at her with a smile as she went to the door.

She was already starting to act like an adorable wife, huh.

Warmth flooded his heart.

"To think a wonderful woman such as herself never got married and settled down," he thought. "It was only after my divorce that I realized I am the reason why she never settled. She loved me too much to do that. I was really blind back then, to not settle with her. But, I can make up for my stupidity now by giving her the life she deserves."

Arica, oblivious to Wembley’s thoughts, opened the door.

A brown-haired young man with black eyes in casual clothes was standing in front of the door.

"Aiden?"

"Hi, Vice Dean," Aiden said politely.

"They must be in a relationship I suppose, considering her appearance, I must have interrupted something," Aiden thought.

"Don’t be too polite with me. Your senior brother and I are currently engaged. So, call me sister Arica," Arica said.

"Good for them," Aiden thought.

"Wow." Aiden smiled. "Congrats to you guys."

"Thank you," Arica said. "Please come in."

"Sure," Aiden replied and followed her into the house.

The door clicked and closed behind them.

"Can I get you something?" Arica said.

"Not really. I’m alright sister Arica," Aiden replied.

"Alright. Let’s head to the living room. Your senior brother is there," she said.

Aiden nodded.

The duo went to the living room, where Wembley was seated on the couch and watching television.

"Oh... it’s you, junior brother," Wembley said.

"I feel a bit guilty for cursing the person who rung the doorbell now," he thought.

"Senior brother," Aiden said as he sat on the couch with Arica. "Congratulations to both of you."

"Oh, she told you?" Wembley said as he smiled sweetly at Arica.

"Mmm," she said.

"It looks like I interrupted something." A playful glint flashed in Aiden’s eyes for a moment.

"You...bastard." Wembley was red all over.

"Hehehhehe," Arica said. "You guys are really cute."

"Alright alright. I will say what I came here to say and be on my way, senior brother," Aiden said with a smile. This old man was really easy to tease. He was like Asmodeus.

"Alright," Wembley smiled. If there was something he could do to help his junior brother, he wouldn’t hesitate.

"I need some help with some poisons. I need legendary rank 3 poisons," Aiden said.
