"Oh, I see. You want to prepare for the assassinations ahead right?" Wembley said.

"Yeah." Aiden nodded.

"Alright." Wembley turned to Arica.

"She’s an intermediate rank 3 alchemist."

A glint of surprise flashed through Aiden’s eyes.

"I see," Aiden replied.

"I come from a family of alchemists. The Nova Secret Sect. You won’t even have to use your contribution points to buy poisons. I have a large reserve of legendary rank 3 poisons in my storage bag," Arica said.

"It looks like things will be easier for me than I expected. I can use my contribution points to buy battlesuits, movement techniques, cultivation methods, and weapons for Desmonda and the others," Aiden thought. "That way, they can also have a high chance of protecting themselves against covert ambushes and the like."

"Thank you sister Arica," Aiden said.

"Don’t mention," Arica said.

She waved her hand.

Vials full of liquid legendary rank 3 poisons appeared before her. There were hundreds of them.

"All yours," she said. "Each of them can kill a legendary rank 3 warrior and below if used well."

"Alright." Aiden nodded. They disappeared into his storage bracelet.

One should never judge a book by its cover. Arica was hiding such a dangerous background and an arsenal of poisons with her wherever she went.

Aiden knew about the Nova Secret/reclusive Sect.

They were located in the Serma Empire of the Western continent.

They were very powerful. They had deep foundations when it came to alchemy.

Most of the powerhouses of the sect held large positions in the Alchemist Association in the Serma Empire.

"This is good. Associating with people of Wembley and Arica’s caliber is bound to provide me with more political immunity," Aiden thought.

"Coupled with that, Ashbourne Cane and Vandaport, my senior brother and sister, all disciples of Armstrong Lee, are beginner rank 4 warriors. At least no one can attempt any nonsense against Desmonda me and the others publicly. I need to be intentional about building a relationship with these people. As for Pamela Ashira and Cosmo Adams, I already have some sort of mutual relationship with them. But, Cosmo Adams, he doesn’t look simple. I should be intentional about him too."

These thoughts flashed through Aiden’s mind in a second.

He stood up.

"Thank you once again for the help, senior brother and sister Arica."

"No worries. But there’s something you need to know, Aiden," Wembley said.

Aiden was quiet, listening.

"The President of the University just contacted me. He wants to meet you. Apparently, he’s sent someone to receive you but he can’t find you at your villa."

Arica was not surprised.

"It seems he wants to be opportunistic and get on your good side because of your feats, and the kind of backing you have now," she said.

"I think so too," Aiden added.

"That will make some things easier," Wembley said. "That man and his twin sister, the vice president, have a lot of military accomplishments in the Iron Empire before they retired to become academicians. If they want to offer help..."

"They most likely have loyal people who’d be willing to risk their lives for them. So, they probably want to introduce a group of people to me who will be protecting me from the shadows," Aiden added calmly.

A glint of surprise and admiration flashed through Arica and Wembley’s eyes.

This young man was indeed a monster.

Such deductions were abnormal for a young man to make.

"Alright. The person should be arriving here any time from now."

Suddenly, someone rang the doorbell.

Aiden’s eyes turned crimson. His gaze turned crimson.

"It’s that guy?" Aiden remembered the person well.

Dorian Vance. The fellow who interrupted his meal on the ship.

Behind him was a stern looking man with a regal bearing.

"From the resemblance, the man is most likely his dad. What is he doing here?"

"Who?" Arica asked.

"Dorian Vance and his father," Aiden said.

"They must be here to apologise to you for the ruckus Dorian Vance caused you on the ship. I heard about that incident," Wembley said.

"What will you do?" Arica asked.

"Let me see them," Aiden said.

He stood up and went to the door.

When he opened it, Dorian Vance and his father bowed the moment they saw him.

"Mr Vhorn, we are extremely sorry for everything that happened."

"It’s fine. Rest assured, I didn’t even remember what happened till you arrived here. So, you can take your leave," Aiden said politely.

The father and son were taken aback.

This man was an unsettling young man. A polite smile could mean a death sentence. We are good could mean I will kill you.

You could never know what he was thinking.

What were they supposed to do?

What if he killed them after they left the place?

Not willing to entertain them anymore, Aiden closed the door softly and returned to his seat in the living room.

The father son duo stood outside the house with confused expressions.

The man didn’t even allow them to compensate him?

What did that mean? Did he really mean it when he said he didn’t hold a grudge?

Or was he planning on killing them?

Suddenly, a glint flashed through Malvin’s eyes.

"I don’t think he will kill us," he said. "This man is currently having the political immunity to take that step. But he’s deciding against it. It means we don’t exist to him. Let’s go. Fortunately, we are like ants to him."

Dorian nodded as relief washed over him.

From now on, he would turn over a new leaf.

This was a story he would tell his wife and children in the future, about the fact he encountered Aiden Vhorn, and was spared by the man because the man didn’t even seem worthy of his attention.

The father son duo left as quickly as they arrived.

The moment they left, a woman in a suit appeared before the door.

"Must be the person sent to receive me," Aiden said.

"See you later," Arica said.

"I hope your first mission causes an uproar junior brother," Wembley smiled.

Aiden nodded politely and stood up.

He headed towards the entrance and opened the door.
