Chapter 235. Operation Wipeout

After spending some intimate time with Desmonda, Aiden and Desmonda washed down and went downstairs to join the others for breakfast.

After that, Desmonda and the others left the house for their first lecture.

Currently, Aiden was the only one remaining in the house. He tapped on his holographic watch and scrolled through the professorship missions.

Aiden was thinking of choosing a mission that involved a lot of killing so that he could absorb a lot of blood essence.

After scrolling through a lot of missions, he finally came upon one he was fine with.

[Mission description: The mission is tagged Operation Wipeout.

York City University is currently organising an expedition into a former city turned into a ruin harboring chaotic beasts. The aim of the expedition is to, first of all, eradicate chaotic beasts from the ruined city so that the numbers of chaotic beasts do not overflow and lead to a beast tide in the nearest city, York City.

The second reason is to clear the ruined city so that it can be rebuilt into civilization.

The expedition team is lacking one expedition team member, and they have requested an additional expedition team member from Sauna City University.

Mission: Join the expedition team and assist the expedition team in carrying out their exercise.

Accidents can occur, and someone could lose their life. That comes with the mission, and none of the two universities will be held accountable if something like that occurs.

Meet the expedition team on York City University campus, Combat Department professorship conference room 32.

Mission difficulty: Hell.

Rewards: 100,000 contribution points]

"This will do," Aiden said.

Several beginner Rank 3 warriors were currently seated across a table with expressions of worry on their faces.

Each of them had extraordinary bearings.

These were the expedition team members of Operation Wipeout.

Bang...

A man hit the table with his hand after cutting a call with someone.

"Damn it!" he shouted.

"What’s wrong?"

"What’s the situation, team leader?"

"According to intel from the surveillance drones, the chaotic beasts in the ruined city are reaching an overflow point. If we don’t hurry up with the mission, a chaotic beast tide will occur" The Team Leader said. "Considering the fact that the ruined city is close to York City compared to the other neighboring cities, we will most likely suffer from it more than the other cities."

The room turned silent.

The aim of the expedition was to clear the chaotic beasts so that the Mayor’s office could rebuild the city into civilization again.

"Last year, a chaotic beast tide occurred because of the chaotic beasts in the ruined city. Instead of the Warriors Association sending personnel to completely deal with the situation, they only thinned down the numbers. I am sure they are already aware of the situation, but because they don’t want their personnel to go there and die, they contacted the Mayor’s office and this mission was pushed to us," a woman with blue hair said.

"That’s true."

"You have a point. Those fuckers..."

Several whispers and murmurs of agreement spread across the place.

The team leader raised his hand.

"Enough..." Everyone quieted down.

"Now is not the time to play blame games," the team leader said. "Whether we like it or not, this mission has been handed over to us. I’ve already contacted Sauna City University for backup. If by evening, no one from their end arrives to join the team, we will have to hire mercenaries to help us with the mission."

Everyone nodded.

The only reason why they had delayed was because they needed one more team member in order to give them a higher chance of survival on the mission.

But with the way the situation was developing, if they did not make a move by the next morning, the situation would become uncontrollable.

Aiden stepped out of the cab after paying the cab driver. The cab drove off.

His eyes were crimson.

He went to sit on a couch by the sidewalk, one leg crossed over the other.

Several people passed by peacefully.

"How is the situation?" he said to someone wearing an invisibility bracelet.

"We’ve dealt with the expert Rank 3 assassins you identified, sir," a voice spoke from the void. "The ones we were able to investigate before we killed them were from the Cyrenthia Empire military, and included one Major Dominio Stele."

"Alright. Thank you. Wait... what about the ones you couldn’t interrogate?" Aiden asked.

"I don’t know, sir... but it’s strange. The moment we tried getting information out of them, they detonated and died. Had we not been careful and left the place early, we would have been caught in the crossfire. We have never encountered assassins of this caliber before. It’s as if they were fanatics willing to die," the voice from the void spoke.

A glint of calmness flashed through Aiden’s eyes.

"I see. Any updates on my loved ones?" Aiden asked.

"All the assassins sent after them, too, have been dealt with. The ones we captured self-detonated. We surmise that they are not from the Cyrenthia Empire and most likely belong to the second group who suicide bombed themselves," the voice replied.

"Alright. Good job," Aiden said.

"Thank you, sir," the voice from the void said.

Aiden was in thought.

"The group they could interrogate were from the Cyrenthia Empire. The second group who detonated must have been from the Order. Only those guys could produce such fanatic assassins who’d be willing to throw their lives away to bury leads back to them. It seems making preparations earlier for this was the best course of action. But they will send more assassins," Aiden thought.

"Did you get their corpses like I asked for?" Aiden said.

"Yes, sir," the voice spoke.

"Put them here," Aiden said.

The corpses of the assassins killed appeared near the sidewalk in body bags.

Aiden absorbed their blood essence.

"Alright, take them back and get rid of them," Aiden said politely.

The man Aiden was interacting with didn’t know why the Crimson Reaper had requested for the corpses. But he assumed the man wanted to identify their faces to see if he could find any clues from them. Although the Crimson Reaper didn’t open the bags to look at the faces of the corpses, he assumed that the man was able to use his enhanced vision to look through the body bags and see the corpses.

"Yes, sir," the man replied as the corpses disappeared.

Aiden stood up.

It was time to head to York City University.
