Chapter 756: I Haven't Painted You in a Long Time

Because Shen Yi had to pull an all-nighter, Qin Jiao ordered a big meal for all the employees working overtime, paying for it herself. The staff, of course, burst into cheers.

“Thanks, Boss Lady!” The group cheered enthusiastically before scrambling for the food.

Qin Jiao gave a small smile, then turned and took her and Shen Yi’s portions to his office to eat.

While the couple ate in the office, Shen Yi saw a lock of Qin Jiao’s long hair fall forward and tucked it behind her ear.

He said, “Jiao Jiao, I haven’t painted you in so long.”

Qin Jiao said with a laugh, “We’re so busy. Even if you had time to paint, I wouldn’t have time to sit and pose for you. But by next year, the clothing company and the restaurant should both be running smoothly. I’ll only need to go in two days a week. I’ll spend the rest of my time at home with the kids.”

“What about me?”

“I’ll spend my nights with you.”

Satisfied with her answer, Shen Yi leaned in and gave Qin Jiao a kiss, but his stubble was so prickly that she dodged away, chiding him with a laugh.

Shen Yi said, “I’ll have more free time next year, too. My mom and Beidou have confirmed they’re moving back to China for good. Oh, and they bought the courtyard house right next to ours. I’m thinking we can all renovate the properties together.”

They had previously moved out of the courtyard house for college and for the convenience of work, but things had stabilized now, and their jobs weren’t so demanding anymore. The courtyard house was in a great location; with a good renovation, it would be a very comfortable place to live.

Qin Jiao considered it for a moment before nodding. “That would be nice. Grandpa still misses his old buddies. He only moved with us for our sake. Besides, living in an apartment building isn’t as spacious as a courtyard house. The children would be able to run and play much more freely.”

There had been some constraints before, preventing them from renovating it to the best standards. Now, after a few years, they could afford to renovate the courtyard house much more nicely.

Shen Yi continued, “Beidou has always been interested in the electronics industry. That’s the business he was in overseas, so when the time comes, I’ll have him come to Jiuyi.”

Qin Jiao was speechless. “It’s usually the parents’ generation that passes businesses down to their children. Are you passing it backward?”

“I’m not passing it on to him! I plan to leave this company to Zijin and Xiao You.”

Speaking of which, Du Liya also held shares in the clothing company. It was originally just a factory, but after it was converted into a limited liability company, the ownership was restructured.

Naturally, Qin Jiao and Shen Yi held the controlling stake. Du Liya was incredibly wealthy, so she couldn’t have cared less about her small portion.

In her entire life, aside from the time Shen Zhengfeng had hurt her, everything had been smooth sailing for Du Liya; she had never suffered any other hardship.

Since Shen Yi was working late, Qin Jiao naturally couldn’t stay the night. She had to get home, where there were young children and an elder to care for.

As it happened, Ji Changxing was at the company on business and was just about to leave. In the end, Shen Yi asked him to drive Qin Jiao home.
