Gong Ruini walked into the bedroom drying her hair, and Zhao Xuran, who was sitting on the sofa by the window reading, saw his wife come out with wet hair again.

Zhao Xuran felt a bit helpless, and waved to Gong Ruini, "Come over, I’ll help you dry your hair."

Ever since Ni Zi got pregnant, Zhao Xuran increasingly felt that his wife was becoming dependent.

Zhao Xuran really liked how Gong Ruini depended on him at this moment.

As a man, who wouldn’t like to see his wife acting like a delicate bird?

Gong Ruini yawned and took the hairdryer over to the window side, then unceremoniously occupied the spot on the sofa.

Although Gong Ruini felt the hairdryer was somewhat damaging to her hair, the warm wind on her neck felt all kinds of comfortable.

Especially as Zhao Xuran’s hands kept doing a massage-like motion on her head, Gong Ruini felt her eyelids grow heavy.

"Done," Zhao Xuran said, touching the now completely dry hair, habitually informing Gong Ruini, of course not surprisingly finding Gong Ruini with her eyes shut.

Zhao Xuran felt delighted at his wife’s gesture of appreciation, which showed how good he was at drying hair, otherwise his wife wouldn’t have fallen asleep.

Gently putting down the hairdryer, then picking up Gong Ruini to move towards the bed.

Gong Ruini actually didn’t want to sleep, she genuinely had things she wanted to say to Zhao Xuran.

It’s just that the noise from the hairdryer was too loud, not suitable for talking, so she thought of taking a brief rest, then having a talk with him.

But unexpectedly when Gong Ruini woke up, the room was already dark, and there was an arm draped over her waist.

"No way, fell asleep again," Gong Ruini thought helplessly, even though she had tried hard not to sleep.

Since becoming pregnant, it’s really been eating then sleeping, sleeping then eating, at this rate, Gong Ruini worried she was not far from becoming a pig.

Gong Ruini felt the arm around her waist was uncomfortable, she genuinely thought it quite heavy.

Previously, Gong Ruini might think about getting rid of this shackle, but no matter how hard she tried, this arm would stubbornly press down, after many times, Gong Ruini got used to it.

As for protesting, that’s out of the question, because her sleep posture wasn’t good, kicking the blanket happened frequently.

Ever since becoming pregnant, Zhao Xuran turned quite dominant, whether Gong Ruini protested or not, it was a reality she had to accept.

Turning over to face Zhao Xuran’s face, reaching out to touch his face, especially after touching a few times and feeling Zhao Xuran wasn’t waking up, the touching turned into poking and pinching.

In any case, at such a good opportunity, not venting her displeasure towards a certain someone, was she supposed to wait until the new year?

"Clearly your skin isn’t that smooth, how come there are so many people saying you have good skin?"

"And I think you’re just average, how come so many people like you?"

"You said you didn’t do anything, yet you attracted so much romantic debt, what if you become wealthier and more charismatic, what should I do then?"

"Hmph, I need to tell Zhao Guangran not to come to school looking for you."

"Even if someone knows the relationship between you and Guang Ran, they wouldn’t speak out."

"Once the child is born, you’ll have to take care of the child, with the child around, I’d like to see how those insignificant admirers chase after you."

Thinking of this made Gong Ruini laugh, she really couldn’t imagine Zhao Xuran reading a book while frantically taking care of the child.

Just now, indulging in fantasies made her happy, Gong Ruini couldn’t help but start worrying, if there really was a class, how could she agree to a baby appearing in the classroom.

"Hmph, in any case, I won’t be like Aunt Mei Hui."

"I won’t soften, even if I do, you have to leave without any belongings."

"The assets in your name, I’d rather donate them than give them to you."

Gong Ruini yawned, though there were still many threatening words to say, Zhou Gong’s liking for her overcame her, and he issued another summons.

She slipped under the covers, nestled against Zhao Xuran’s chest, and reentered dreamland.

Sometimes saying threatening words is really exhausting.

Just as Gong Ruini fell asleep, Zhao Xuran opened his eyes, he hadn’t expected himself to endure not reacting when Gong Ruini started speaking and pointing at his face.

Fortunately, he held back, otherwise he wouldn’t have known Gong Ruini’s thoughts.

Turns out it’s not that Ni Zi doesn’t know, not that she’s being difficult, but she has her worries too.

"You can actually throw a fit, you can say you’re unhappy."

"Say you don’t want me getting close to other women."

While Zhao Xuran was glad his wife wasn’t a troublemaker, it avoided making him lose face, his wife’s apathy made anyone feel uneasy.

Always pondering his status in his wife’s eyes, does she truly love him?

Zhao Xuran was full of doubts, yet didn’t dare ask, fearing he’d hear unwelcome answers.

Now he was wholly relaxed, propping his head with his arm, he intently gazed at Gong Ruini for a long time, had Ni Zi not been pregnant, Zhao Xuran really wanted to engage in some clapping exercises for celebration.

Nonetheless, it seemed that the time for such activity wasn’t far off, Zhao Xuran recalled his previous consultation with the doctor during a check-up.

Though still some time away, Zhao Xuran was already satisfied, better than enduring till the child was born and a hundred days old.

Zhao Xuran couldn’t comprehend how he previously managed to wait so long, ever since learning of Ni Zi’s pregnancy, it had only been a short while and he felt all kinds of discomfort.

Especially when hugging his wife at night, that feeling of having the meat in front of him but being unable to eat it was truly frustrating.

"Once the child is born, make sure they sleep in a separate room," Zhao Xuran suddenly recalled a friend’s advice from university.

Though not clearly stated, as men, they all understood the same implications without needing explicit explanation.

"Alas, after this child, let’s take a break before having another," Zhao Xuran previously thought living abroad for three or four years would suffice for having two kids.

But now he found such thinking was naive, how easily had he been influenced by his parents?

Children are important, but are they more important than a spouse? More important than personal happiness?

"After this birth, we’ll rest for two or three years before having another," Zhao Xuran pondered for a long time, deciding this arrangement was better.

"This way the eldest can look after the second child, and in the future when the younger one cries at night, the elder can attend to them," the more Zhao Xuran thought, the more he felt his idea was absolutely brilliant.

This way the elder child could develop more responsibility and alleviate the adults’ burden.

Zhao Xuran leaned over to Gong Ruini’s ear, continuously murmuring about something.

Although Gong Ruini was asleep, she couldn’t ignore the constant buzz in her ear, if the noise were louder it might be acceptable.

But it was like a mosquito hovering by her ear, driving Gong Ruini crazy with annoyance.
