Gong Ruini wakes up every morning lacking energy, which Gong Ruwen is accustomed to.

In the past, he would think that Ni Zi might not have slept well the night before, but now he understands that no matter how well she sleeps or for how long, she’s always like this the next day.

But today, Gong Ruini seems worse, she actually has dark circles under her eyes.

"Ni Zi, didn’t you rest well last night?" Gong Ruwen asked cautiously.

Could it be that his little sister returned to her room yesterday and started arguing with Zhao Xuran, and kept at it until late?

When Zhao Xuran saw Gong Ruini, he immediately brought out the breakfast he had specially prepared for his wife.

Upon hearing Gong Ruwen’s words and glancing at his wife, his actions froze momentarily.

Gong Ruwen noticed Zhao Xuran’s stiff movements; it seems something happened last night that they weren’t aware of.

"Yes," Gong Ruini rubbed her eyes, "I actually have dark circles."

The skin on this body is exceptionally good, especially with the presence of space—though she hasn’t entered the space much recently, she makes sure to take a thorough bath whenever she can.

Not to mention that each time she bathes, she secretly adds a little space water to the tub, although she doesn’t know the exact effect, it does have some positive impact.

Even though she’s pregnant, her skin hasn’t yellowed or anything; it’s perfectly smooth and tender.

In these circumstances, the existence of annoying dark circles truly surprises Gong Ruini.

"Ah, dark circles, how did I get these?"

"What should I do?" Gong Ruini hurriedly pondered, soon she would have a barrel-like waist, which is understandable, as no pregnant woman’s waist looks good.

But what’s the deal with the dark circles? The thought of having a chubby face like a pancake with dark circles and spots makes her dizzy.

Not saying she needs to be an invincible teenage beauty, but at least she wants to be a sexy mom.

The premise of being a sexy mom is having an explosive figure and a good face, at least without spots, and now even such a simple notion might be dashed.

Gong Ruini really wants to cry, growing more irritated with the mosquitoes that kept buzzing around her ears last night.

"I must kill that mosquito today."

"How dare it disturb my sleep." It’s already November, how are there still mosquitoes?

Mosquitoes? How can there be mosquitoes at this time? Gong Ruwen is really curious, winter is approaching, and yet there are mosquitoes.

Was it his issue? Zhao Xuran is indeed a bit uneasy, he had no idea his mumblings last night would make Ni Zi uncomfortable.

Obviously, Ni Zi should have been asleep at that time, where she would sleep deeply and wouldn’t hear him at all.

"Didn’t you sleep well last night?" Zhao Xuran asked worriedly, eating poorly and sleeping poorly; is that healthy for the body?

"Yes, there was a mosquito," Gong Ruini replied with a look that said ’how can you be this dense?’ towards Zhao Xuran.

Wasn’t this issue already mentioned before; why ask again now, unless he didn’t sleep well either?

Gong Ruini stared at Zhao Xuran for a long time with evident displeasure; why does she have dark circles, but Zhao Xuran doesn’t?

That’s a bit too much, "Why don’t you have dark circles?"

"That mosquito is too much, it targeted me," Gong Ruini couldn’t help but be angry.

Gong Ruwen slapped his forehead helplessly; hearing this, he understood, "Where are the mosquitoes?"

Ah, no mosquitoes, so who was whispering by her ear last night? It can’t be that someone just crouched next to her and started talking.

To know that yesterday she pinched and squeezed Zhao Xuran’s face quite a bit, did he hear that?

Oh my god, that’s surprising; she’s supposed to give off the impression of having a carefree personality.

Now, is her persona about to crumble? Gong Ruini anxiously looked at Zhao Xuran.

"Hopefully not." Zhao Xuran looked at Gong Ruini with feigned consolation, but he could clearly see the surprise and anxiety in her eyes.

Seems like this young girl doesn’t want him to reveal these details; since it’s a wish of his wife, he naturally complies.

"I was up in the middle of the night, Ni Zi sleeps poorly, so I muttered a couple of words," Zhao Xuran quickly made up an excuse for muttering at midnight.

Anyway, the fact that Ni Zi sleeps poorly is widely known.

Eh, why does this guy drag her sleeping habits into the discussion again, it’s been improving recently.

This is frustrating, though he didn’t betray her, he shouldn’t paint such a negative picture.

Zhao Xuran watched his wife’s self-proclaimed fierce expression, holding back his laughter, feeling that even her fiercest look was like a baby’s, lacking any intimidation.

To Zhao Xuran, this actually held a unique charm, but can he say that?

Obviously not, otherwise he’d lose the chance to see it again in the future.

"Just said it a couple of times." Gong Ruini knew her current demeanor lacked intimidation; she’d practiced in front of the mirror many times.

Though Gong Ruini wanted to project a formidable presence, no matter how hard she tried, the results were always similar; so helplessly, she could only comfort herself that it’s a way of conveying her feelings.

As for Zhao Xuran’s various expressions of suppressed laughter now, Gong Ruini internally chuckled, even if she can’t overpower him, seeing him look so constrained gives her a sense of accomplishment.

"Just said a few more words." Zhao Xuran gestured a little bit with his hand, "Okay, let’s eat, we have a doctor’s appointment today."

Ah, going to the doctor again? Gong Ruini isn’t one to outright reject hospital visits, but who would enthusiastically rush to one?

She hadn’t been pregnant in her past life, but she did hear colleagues mention it once and had some impressions watching Zhan Jing, Cai Meina, and Wan Qiweng go through their pregnancies.

Wait, why are her check-ups so frequent, could something be wrong with the baby? Gong Ruini’s face instantly blanched.

She looked pitifully at Zhao Xuran, "Is there something wrong with the baby?"

What, is something wrong with the baby? The Gong brothers looked at Zhao Xuran in astonishment; that’s not a trivial matter.

If the baby’s situation isn’t optimal, then it’s a congenital issue.

"No way," Zhao Xuran quickly waved his hand to indicate Gong Ruini was overthinking.

Is it not? Gong Ruini continued to gaze at Zhao Xuran, evidently wanting to get to the bottom of this.

Zhao Xuran shyly said, "Well, I was just worried about Ni Zi’s health."

There’s nothing that can’t be said, since everyone’s eager to know the reason, might as well be transparent.

It turns out he was concerned about Gong Ruini’s health. Gong Ruwen now understood the logic behind going to the hospital for check-ups, simply worried about her recent low food intake affecting her and the baby.

Gong Ruwen sighed internally, silently praying that this hospital visit would be merely routine without any issues.
