"The feeling of waking up naturally is just great," Gong Ruini said, yawning as she climbed out of bed.

Ever since having kids, Gong Ruini has forgotten what it means to wake up naturally.

And she hasn’t had a full night’s sleep in ages, "Every day I wake up to the sound of children crying."

"Falling asleep to the sound of children crying."

Thinking of having more children in the future, Gong Ruini felt genuinely exhausted.

"I hope the eldest will be a bit more sensible." Gong Ruini was counting on Pingping to be a healthy child who wasn’t overly rambunctious.

If possible, it would be great if he could help take care of his younger siblings, but judging by the current situation, that possibility seemed rather slim.

Gong Tao glanced at the time and thought of asking his daughter if she wanted to get up. Otherwise, being hungry wasn’t ideal.

Not expecting to hear her muttering about hoping the eldest would be sensible and help care for the kids as she walked in.

Gong Tao chuckled, "You’re overthinking it. Pingping is just a kid, and you’re hoping he’ll take care of his siblings."

"How many kids these days are sensible?" Thinking about his friends’ children, Gong Tao didn’t dare have any expectations.

"Whether a child is sensible depends on the parents’ upbringing."

"Treating kids like little ancestors and indulging every whim and desire—it’s no wonder they end up useless."

"And now they’re saying the kids are less sensible; I think it’s just creating chaos."

Alright, Gong Tao admitted his daughter had made a valid point.

"So Xuran and I have decided, regarding Pingping’s education, we’ll monitor it ourselves."

"We’ll absolutely not give you all the chance to spoil them," Gong Ruini declared sternly.

Oh dear, her attitude annoyed Gong Tao, "What do you mean by that?"

"Are you implying that your father would spoil Pingping and the others?"

"Not possible, look at you and your brother. Aren’t you both well-educated? All thanks to me." When going out, people praised him for having raised three good kids.

He really was skilled at taking credit. The reason she and Gong Ruwen became successful, was it truly thanks to Gong Tao?

Wasn’t it Zhao Xuran leading the way with her pushing from behind? Without their laissez-faire approach, could they have raised such outstanding children?

Facing her father’s gaze, Gong Tao knew he was bragging just now, but being openly disdained felt off.

He gave Gong Ruini a disgruntled glance, "Get up, your mom and the others will be back soon."

"We don’t know how Pingping and the others are." Gong Tao was anxious; even though An An’s face had been rounding out lately.

But before getting the test results, Gong Tao worried—what if they just thought An An was healthier?

"It’ll be good news," Gong Ruini asserted it would definitely be good news, and anything else she simply wouldn’t admit.

Seeing Gong Ruini so confident, Gong Tao wanted to ask why she was so sure, but he held back.

Who wouldn’t hope for good news? "Stop being lazy and get up to eat."

Gong Tao glanced at his daughter being all lazy, thankfully she married Zhao Xuran, or else others might resent it.

In which household is it the man who manages kids gracefully? Only Zhao Xuran.

Lazy? How was she lazy? Gong Ruini was truly not convinced.

"You should empathize with Xuran. Look at Xuran, he’s got dark circles," Gong Tao said earnestly.

Ha, sure, all about Zhao Xuran having dark circles. Why not mention how hard she worked? Gong Ruini was really going nuts, "He’s the father too."

"I know, I know." Oh dear, his daughter started to flare up, so he swiftly retreated.

Watching Gong Tao slip away quickly, Gong Ruini was truly amused and helpless—is he her real dad? Always siding with Zhao Xuran.

Zhao Xuran returned home with the children, greeted by his wife’s dissatisfied look—what was this about?

Zhao Xuran was entirely bewildered.

"My dad actually said I’m lazy."

"Said you’re so busy you’ve got dark circles," Gong Ruini thought and felt wronged.

"Why doesn’t he consider that I’m tired too, I have dark circles too!" Zhao Xuran spent a long time in front of the bathroom mirror.

Originally not one to scrutinize the mirror, yet after today’s examination, she was stunned.

"I’m so young, yet I have so many wrinkles."

"Everyone says women age significantly after having kids, now I finally understand," Gong Ruini sniffled.

Old? Where was his wife old? Zhao Xuran honestly didn’t see why she felt wronged. For him, taking care of his children was perfectly normal.

"Wife, wife, you’re not old. In my heart, you’re the youngest."

"Wife, I’m older than you, aren’t I aging faster?"

"Don’t you sometimes call me uncle?"

Pfft, calling him uncle and all, he really thinks of himself as an uncle, "When you wear a suit, you look all proper, absolutely capable of fooling young girls."

Regarding this, Gong Ruini genuinely wasn’t exaggerating. Given their long-standing romance, it was assumed she’d have built up resistance to his charm.

Yet every time he wore a suit, Gong Ruini truly found herself completely mesmerized.

"Oh, I did fool you, one young girl," Zhao Xuran approached Gong Ruini and planted a kiss on her.

"In this lifetime, I’ll only deceive one person, and that’s Gong Ruini; the other girls don’t interest me."

Although the words sounded clichéd, if it were Zhao Guangran saying it—it wasn’t right, he would say it even more smoothly—but Gong Ruini found herself particularly moved by Zhao Xuran’s words.

"Yeah, the young girl you tricked is me; you could trick women though." Gong Ruini admitted she was a little hypersensitive, a bit unreasonable, but she liked it, she just liked it.

Occasionally being a bit jealous, letting him know that even sensible people can have unreasonable moments.

Also letting him know she gets anxious about him, worried someone might steal him away.

"Who could I trick? I can’t even coax people."

"If I can coax you and our daughter, I think I’ve done enough," Zhao Xuran stated honestly.

Zhan Jing was holding An An, planning for Gong Ruini to feed the child, but didn’t expect to overhear this scene, leaving her genuinely at a loss.

At that moment, Zhan Jing truly wanted to curse—if couples want to speak privately, there’s no problem, but could they shut the door?

Unaware of guests coming and going, what if someone inadvertently barges in?

Zhan Jing could almost imagine Zhao Xuran’s dagger-like gaze, sigh, truly exhausting.

Zhan Jing’s retreat was quick, but the sound was loud enough for Zhao Xuran and Gong Ruini to hear.

Gong Ruini was stunned—how could someone come up? This floor was allocated to the younger generation; at this hour, Zhao Guangran would be working downstairs, Gong Ruzhi and the others off to class.

It seemed the only ones around could be Zhan Jing and the others. Oh my.

Gong Ruini wished she could vanish, turning into a bashful little woman, letting an elder overhear—perish the thought, truly too embarrassed to go down.
