"Alright, shall we head back?" Zhao Xuran watched Zhan Jing and the others enter the airport, then pulled Gong Ruini into a comforting embrace as she wiped her tears.

Gong Ruini sniffled, "Let’s go back."

In the past, Gong Ruini would dream of going out if given the chance; she’d definitely wander around. After finishing her confinement month, she felt like she was going crazy.

It truly wasn’t an easy time. Though often she didn’t have to care for the baby since others did, the main nightly caretakers were them.

"Before, I thought if I had the chance to go out, I’d definitely have a proper good time outside."

"But now, all I can think about is the baby." Gong Ruini felt she really wasn’t the type to enjoy a life of leisure.

"Me too." Zhao Xuran understood the love for the baby, but he’d never expected that one day he’d be rushing home straight after class because he missed the baby so much.

Even if he had to handle work, he’d still stay by the baby’s side, even though sometimes their cries really drove him to the brink.

Gong Ruini rubbed her eyes, looking at the scenery outside the car window. This wasn’t the familiar route from the airport to home, nor was it the route to school.

"Is there a traffic jam?"

"Changed routes?" Ah, the city always had potential for traffic jams.

"No, I want to take you somewhere." Zhao Xuran thought Gong Ruini would sleep through until they arrived at the destination.

"Oh, where to?" Seeing Zhao Xuran’s mysterious demeanor, Gong Ruini couldn’t help but become curious.

"Secret." Zhao Xuran patted Gong Ruini’s hand, "Don’t worry, I won’t sell you off."

Sell her? "I’m not worth much."

Gong Ruini was absolutely right. An Oriental woman with no figure in the United States, who would she be sold to?

"You’re worth a lot." Zhao Xuran earnestly corrected Gong Ruini’s words.

"In my eyes, you’re priceless."

"Nothing is more precious than you."

"Yeah, only you think that." Gong Ruini was really happy with his response and took the chance to peck Zhao Xuran on the cheek.

"Just me thinking so isn’t enough."

"Having you is more than enough."

"Even if one day Pingping calls you his priceless treasure, that brat’s just talking nonsense."

Even against his own son, Zhao Xuran had to press down, "In your heart, I’m the best man."

Really? Zhao Xuran was so cute, competing for attention and not forgetting to step on his son, even though Pingping was still such a small toddler.

"I don’t think the brat can coax anyone." With such a temperament, always so impatient, how could he possibly charm the girls?

Gong Ruini didn’t have high expectations, "I just hope he won’t throw money at people in the future."

Uh, Zhao Xuran admitted he had a bit of disdain for his son, because the kid had endless energy and would always look down on him as a dad.

Still, he thought highly of his son; he never expected Gong Ruini to say such things about him.

"Why, did I say something wrong?" Gong Ruini didn’t think she was mistaken.

"I think your son might learn to charm girls." Zhao Xuran said with a hint of bitterness.

Oh, charm girls? That’s impossible, Gong Ruini was stunned. He was just a little kid, how could he tell?

"Haven’t you noticed?"

Gong Ruini shook her head; she really hadn’t noticed.

"When you talk to him, he gets very excited."

"Our mom talks to him, he acts indifferent."

This, Gong Ruini really hadn’t observed; she just thought Zhao Xuran was overthinking it.

"After all, I talk to him every day, and I’m the one who gave birth to him." Gong Ruini felt prenatal education was quite effective.

"Whenever I take them for health check-ups, if a young girl talks to them, Pingping is very enthusiastic."

"If it’s an elderly voice, he becomes indifferent."

No way, Gong Ruini looked at Zhao Xuran dumbfounded, hoping to see on his face a hint that he was joking.

"I’ve tested it a few times." Zhao Xuran wished he was just joking to make Gong Ruini laugh, but it was indeed true.

Oh my, Gong Ruini still hadn’t processed it; she really didn’t know what to say.

"Alright, we’re here." Zhao Xuran parked the car, seeing Gong Ruini still lost in thought. He leaned over to help her unbuckle the seatbelt.

Oh, they were there. Gong Ruini glanced around, "You brought me here to buy clothes?"

She glanced down at her waist, although slimmer than before, it wasn’t back to her skinniest days.

Gong Ruini really didn’t want to waste money on clothes, mainly because she felt if she bought clothes according to her current size, she’d lose the motivation to lose weight.

Buy clothes? Zhao Xuran hadn’t thought of that. "We’ll buy clothes after we take care of business."

His wife mentioned wanting to buy clothes; with a nanny looking after the child and Zhao Guangran able to check in occasionally, there wouldn’t be any issues.

Zhao Xuran hadn’t considered his wife wanting to buy clothes because Gong Ruini wasn’t one who liked dragging a man along for shopping trips. She’d prefer to stroll on her own.

Or wait until Gong Jiaxin returned from Europe; the sisters would go shopping together.

They’d also help Zhao Xuran pick out clothes, so he’d never considered clothes shopping before.

It was true, since having the child, although these days she’s frequently exercised and slimmed down a bit, she’s still heavier than before.

This made Zhao Xuran feel guilty; he truly hadn’t noticed these changes. He was thankful that Zhao Guangran often said how lucky he was to grow up with Gong Ruini, otherwise, looking like he does, no girl would like him.

Even if a woman liked him, it would be for the money. Although Zhao Xuran felt this was a bit exaggerated, it wasn’t without reason.

They weren’t there to buy clothes? Gong Ruini was relieved but genuinely surprised, with all the stores around, did he bring her to try some good food?

Being cooped up at home these days, the confinement meals provided enough nutrition, but the taste was really not great. Gong Ruini was lost for words on how to describe them.

"Follow me." Zhao Xuran took Gong Ruini’s hand, leading her into a building and up an elevator.

Gong Ruini was utterly puzzled, "Did you buy a property here?"

Not another real estate deal, but these looked like office buildings.

"You’ll understand once we’re there." Zhao Xuran stayed enigmatic.

Before they arrived, he wouldn’t utter a word; he wanted to give his wife a big surprise.

Playing mysterious, Gong Ruini wasn’t in a rush; they’d arrive eventually, and she’d see the surprise.

An occasional small surprise was essential for nurturing a good relationship, wasn’t it?

Gong Ruini couldn’t help but feel extremely curious, unsure of how big a surprise the usually straightforward Zhao Xuran planned for her.

Haven’t well-off husbands often give a big surprise or reward after their wife gives birth?
