Baili Xia really didn’t want to deal with her anymore, either stop talking or stop beating around the bush.

When you wanted to reconcile with her, she said you didn’t care about her feelings when you spoke.

When you wanted to be polite to her, she said you were so polite, did that mean you no longer wanted her as a friend?

Facing such a Ning Anran, even someone as patient as Baili Xia was about to completely lose her patience.

Helpless, she took out her phone from her bag and started browsing the news out of boredom.

Seeing her like this, Ning Anran felt an even stronger surge of resentment.

She herself had done wrong and had those disgraceful dealings with Mr.

Xiaojiu, but she had never criticized her.

Now, given the opportunity, she even refused to admit her fault proactively.

Xiaxia, had she really misjudged her?

Why had she become like this?

Become…

so cheap?

Taking a deep breath, Ning Anran did not want to waste any more time, she stared at Baili Xia’s face and finally spoke coldly.

“You’re with Mr. Xiaojiu, aren’t you?”

Baili Xia’s fingers trembled, and her phone almost fell to the ground.

After the terrible incident yesterday, now the last thing she wanted to hear was Uncle’s name, even just the two characters of “Mr.

Xiaojiu.”

But she quickly calmed down and looked up at Ning Anran, “What do you want to say?”

“You think it’s okay?

You really don’t care at all?

He is your Uncle!”

Ning Anran was completely infuriated by her indifference.

“You even…

lied to me, you said you had no relationship with him!”

“What else?

You have been living in Sihai Residence, you might know about me and Uncle, perhaps, it’s truly not surprising.”

Uncle had once asked her to kiss him in the courtyard of Sihai Residence.

Perhaps, Ning Anran saw it then, or maybe Leng Yu told her.

Either way, she now knew, and what happened between her and Uncle was a fact.

She…

had nothing to say.

“Why did you lie to me?” Ning Anran bit her lip, her heart soured, and suddenly her eyes moistened.

Baili Xia looked at her, not expecting her to suddenly cry here.

Her crying softened her heart, just for a moment.

“Do you think I can say it?”

“I am your best friend!” Ning Anran yelled.

But Baili Xia didn’t know how to respond.

Best friend…

perhaps they once were.

But now, she seriously doubted if they were still friends at all.

But it seemed like Ning Anran was genuinely hurt.

She turned her face away, hand pressed against her lips, forcibly covering them.

She did not cry out loud, but tears kept falling.

Baili Xia’s heart softened a bit more.

In fact, many things couldn’t be blamed on Ning Anran, perhaps she hadn’t handled everything well either.

She had kept many things from her, but she had her reasons, those things couldn’t be shared with her.

“An Ran.” Putting away her phone, Baili Xia stood up looking at her profile.

She exhaled softly, her voice filled with helplessness, “I…

couldn’t help it, I didn’t do it on purpose…”

“You telling me, would I have spread it around?

What are you afraid of?”

Ning Anran turned back to look at her, crying with a hoarse voice.

“Even if I truly liked Mr.

Xiaojiu, I wouldn’t forsake our friendship over a man, why don’t you trust me?”

“It’s not that I don’t trust you, I just didn’t want to drag you into this.”

Was everything as simple as she thought?

It wasn’t a matter of trust or distrust, but rather, after letting her know, what use would it be other than adding to her worries?
