Out of breath…

Baili Xia was startled and suddenly remembered that she might have been holding on too tightly.

She hurriedly released her hands, only to realize that even if she let go of him, she could still sit steadily on his legs.

Because his long arm was always wrapped around her waist.

At any moment, as long as he held her, she would definitely not fall off…

She couldn’t quite describe the feeling in her heart.

The motorcycle bumped on the ground, and she subconsciously wanted to hold him again.

But just as her hand reached out, her own reason sharply pulled it back.

After that night, between the two of them…

a complex taste had mixed in, vaguely, somewhat strange.

“If you want to hug, just hug, I never said you couldn’t,” Mu Xiaojiu huffed coldly, his tone not very pleasant.

He had only meant to remind her not to strangle him, not that she couldn’t hug him.

What was this woman hesitating for?

Baili Xia didn’t speak, but she didn’t hug him either.

Since she wouldn’t fall off anyway, she decided not to hug him.

She also didn’t know what the price might be after hugging him.

Mu Xiaojiu huffed coldly again, and suddenly, the hand on her waist loosened.

Sitting on his legs, Baili Xia swayed suddenly and almost fell off with a not-so-severe bump.

She gasped, and out of reflex, grabbed Mu Xiaojiu’s neck, terrified she might actually be thrown off.

In her panic, she didn’t see the fleeting complex expression in the depths of Mu Xiaojiu’s eyes.

Clearly, he seemed to be smiling…

She wouldn’t hug him when he allowed her, forcing him to scare her this way.

In fact, if she had simply complied, he wouldn’t have wanted to scare her.

The arm returned to her waist, holding her neither too light nor too tightly.

Besides breathing a sigh of relief, Baili Xia finally realized what had just happened.

This guy, to make her hug him willingly…

had actually scared her.

She really couldn’t understand what he meant by doing this.

It seemed like he wanted to get along well with her, but his attitude was very poor.

Was he still angry?

Or was he no longer mad?

What about the child in her womb?

Did he want it, or not?

An inscrutable man is better left unanalyzed.

This time she looped her arms around his neck, not tightly, in fact, only symbolically.

Because she realized that all she needed to do was to hug him.

By doing so, he wouldn’t release his arms from around her and she would be safe.

But what was the point of playing such tricks on her?

The ten-mile journey, amidst the leisurely speed, finally came to an end.

The motorcycle stopped.

As she was helped off the bike by Mu Xiaojiu, Baili Xia realized that the stiff motorcycle hadn’t hurt her at all.

Probably because, all along the way, she had been sitting on Uncle’s legs, nestled in his embrace.

With his body cushioning her, even if the mountain road was rugged, it was completely fine.

As soon as they got off, two people immediately came over.

Approaching Mu Xiaojiu, they greeted respectfully, “Mr. Xiaojiu!”

Mu Xiaojiu nodded, gently putting Baili Xia down.

His movements were so gentle, it was really easy to get the wrong idea, thinking he was treating her tenderly.

The man and woman who came to greet Mu Xiaojiu stole glances at Baili Xia, seemingly very curious about her identity.

Yet, Mu Xiaojiu never introduced her or said anything.

As soon as she steadied herself, he turned and walked towards the path ahead, completely ignoring her.

And that was how Baili Xia was left behind by him.
