Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 1029
“Uncle, how long is ‘a while’?” Baili Xia persisted, continuing to ask.
Mu Xiaojiu’s palm tightened suddenly, and he turned his head to glance at her.
That look was so cold it almost made her shiver uncontrollably.
A chill ran over her skin, all of it induced by his aura.
“Until you no longer need to live here.”
He huffed again and quickened his pace, clearly intending to leave her behind.
Baili Xia wanted to follow, but Di Ran stepped forward next to her and blocked her path.
“Mr. Xiaojiu doesn’t want you to follow.” It was so obvious, even she could see it.
Baili Xia felt a bit disheartened; she of course knew Uncle didn’t want her to tag along.
But, she was troubled by what he had just said.
To stay until she no longer needed to live here—she really couldn’t understand what Uncle meant by that.
Di Ran’s gaze, however, moved past her and landed on someone rushing over behind her.
Looking at him, her expression immediately softened.
She walked over and stared at him, “Mr. Nangong, you’re here too?”
Nangong Xu nodded slightly, then strode up to Baili Xia’s side and looked down at her sun-reddened cheeks.
“Have you encountered any discomfort on your way over?”
Baili Xia met his gaze and shook her head, “Uncle carried me here; I didn’t feel any bumps.”
Knowing he was concerned about her belly, her heart warmed a little.
Being alone was truly lonely; having someone care about you, no matter what kind of care it was, made her feel not so alone anymore.
“Mr. Xiaojiu said, let her stay here for a while.” Di Ran returned to them.
Still looking at Nangong Xu’s strong facial features, “Do I need to prepare a room for her?”
“Alright.” Nangong Xu nodded, looking at Baili Xia, “Come with me, I’ll take you there.”
Baili Xia wanted to ask something else, but the surrounding area was full of training brothers.
After Uncle had pushed her out here, everyone inevitably started looking their way.
Even during training, even if everyone was engrossed, who could be without curiosity?
They were probably all wondering who she really was?
It indeed wasn’t convenient to talk here, so she had no choice but to follow Nangong Xu.
“Mr. Nangong, will you also be staying here for a while?” Di Ran asked.
Seeing how carefully Nangong Xu treated Baili Xia, Di Ran was somewhat puzzled.
Nangong Xu nodded again, “I’ll stay until she leaves.”
Baili Xia’s steps faltered, and she looked up at him, the confusion in her eyes deepening.
Di Ran too, looking at Nangong Xu, had an evident urge to speak but held back.
But the words were swallowed, unspoken.
“Let’s go,” Nangong Xu said to Baili Xia, shaking his head.
Baili Xia bit her lip, and the words on the tip of her tongue were swallowed back.
As she had thought, this wasn’t the place for such discussions.
They continued walking forward; not far ahead was a resting place.
Nangong Xu led Baili Xia into a spacious room, tidied up no differently than a hotel’s presidential suite.
However, this suite was duplex-style, with the décor of a presidential suite and the layout of an apartment.
A large hall, two bedrooms, she was led into one of them.
Not long after, Ye Hua arrived with her luggage.
It was her simple luggage, initially packed for staying at the Dongfang Family, but she hadn’t expected to be intercepted by Uncle on the way.
After delivering the luggage, Ye Hua tidied up briefly and then withdrew.
