Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 1028
This training ground was probably just the tip of the iceberg of the entire island.
Baili Xia didn’t know how many people were on the island, nor dared to ask.
Without Baili Xia asking, Di Ran didn’t take the initiative to explain anything to her either.
Though the girl was brought by Mr.
Xiaojiu, Di Ran still wasn’t clear on how much she should know.
When it came to things she wasn’t sure about, she couldn’t act on them.
Di Ran followed Baili Xia step by step towards Mu Xiaojiu, yet didn’t get close.
After all, Mr.
Xiaojiu had just sternly turned and walked away, leaving the girl for them to handle.
This attitude that seemed disdainful yet not quite disdainful was something Di Ran couldn’t quite figure out.
Were the young couple having a spat?
But there had never been a woman by Mr.
Xiaojiu’s side, so how did this girl suddenly show up?
Suddenly, Mu Xiaojiu turned around, his gaze shooting directly onto Baili Xia.
Without thinking, Baili Xia’s legs moved on their own, and she immediately walked towards him.
It wasn’t until she was right in front of him that she suddenly realized she had again become meek in front of him.
Thinking it over, she still felt reluctant, ready to hold back her steps, even wanting to step back.
But his large hand reached out and pulled her over.
Mr.
Xiaojiu having a young girl by his side left all the brothers in the surrounding area gaping, momentarily stopping dead in their tracks.
With thousands of people on the training ground, the silence that fell in a flash was so complete that even the occasional sound of the wind seemed loud and clear.
Such quietness amidst so many people was almost miraculous.
Baili Xia felt unsettled as Uncle’s hand fell onto her shoulder, pulling her here to face everyone.
Yet, he didn’t say a word, his imposing chill clearly aimed at her.
She really couldn’t figure out what this man wanted, or what he meant by pushing her forward.
There was so much she didn’t understand; thus, she decided not to think about it.
If she kept thinking, her brain cells would definitely all die.
“In the coming days, she will reside here,” Mu Xiaojiu’s cold voice suddenly rang out.
Everyone’s gazes were instantly fixed on Baili Xia.
For the coming days… What did that mean?
How long was that period?
“Mr. Xiaojiu,” Di Ran walked over and looked at him, a puzzled expression in his eyes.
“She is…”
“A guest.” Mu Xiaojiu didn’t speak any further, withdrew the large hand from Baili Xia’s shoulder, and was about to turn and leave to check on the brothers on the training ground.
However, after Bai Xia staggered in shock, she quickly snapped out of it and hastened her steps to follow him.
She walked so fast that Mu Xiaojiu, leading the way, heard her footsteps and immediately stopped, turning to look at her.
The gaze he shot her way was so cold it was spine-chilling.
With one stern glance from him, Baili Xia immediately stopped in her tracks.
Seeing her calm her steps, Mu Xiaojiu withdrew his gaze and was about to leave again.
“Uncle,” Baili Xia didn’t dare to run too fast, though she didn’t understand why he wouldn’t let her, but she still quickened her pace to follow him.
Wanting to habitually tug at his sleeve, she stretched her hand out but then abruptly pulled it back.
The relationship between them was not good anymore; the little action of holding onto his sleeve also had to be abandoned.
“Uncle.” He didn’t stop, so she could only follow him.
“I will be staying here in the coming days, what does this mean? I don’t understand.”
Mu Xiaojiu’s pace unconsciously slowed down, merely to keep her from running too fast.
But he didn’t look directly at her, still looking ahead at the training ground, and he snorted coldly, “It means what it says.”
