Baili Xia had no idea why Uncle was so busy, nor what he was busy with.

Right now, all she wanted was to return to their room with him.

She wanted to draw him a big, warm bath so he could soak in a hot bath and relax.

Afterwards, she would have him sleep with his head on her lap, and she would massage his head as he slept peacefully.

She really wanted to take good care of him…

“What is it? Is there something on my face?” Mu Xiaojiu suddenly put down his cup and glanced at Baili Xia indifferently.

That glance was indeed lacking in warmth.

However, Baili Xia had gotten completely used to their way of interacting.

Uncle was like that, extremely warm when it was just the two of them, almost to the point of igniting a blaze.

But in public, sometimes he really could be so cold that it was frightening.

Right now, he was cold, devoid of warmth, and so stern that there wasn’t a trace of emotion.

“Nothing, just seeing Uncle so tired, I thought…” she trailed off, lowering her eyes.

“You thought what?” Mu Xiaojiu seemed to ask casually, “By the way, how are you feeling?

Have you recovered?”

“I have.” The words “I thought to tell you to go back and rest early” were ultimately swallowed back down.

At this moment, Uncle didn’t need that.

What’s more, since Grandpa told them to wait here, how could they go back now?

Baili Xia wanted to say more, but then more engine noises came from outside the door.

It was clear that it was also someone in a hurry to return.

Before long, Mu Lingchuan, looking travel-worn, returned with Manager Feng, who continued to stand at the door, waiting for someone else.

Manager Feng was still waiting – could it be that both the Mu family head and the second eldest were coming too?

Baili Xia was puzzled and looked at the arriving Mu Lingchuan, “Brother, where is Zimo?”

When she was previously at Bei Miao, Zimo had called her, and Baili Xia always brushed it off.

Zimo was not a schemer and was quite naive, so she usually didn’t doubt what Baili Xia said.

So when Baili Xia said she was going to the Bei Family to ask for some good medicine, and that Nangong Xu was accompanying her, Zimo didn’t ask further.

She just reminded Baili Xia to take good care of herself.

Mu Lingchuan tussled his windblown bangs and looked at her, “Zimo is still at the company, Xiaoxiao is off today, I gave her a break and let them go out to have some fun.”

“Thank you.” Brother is really good to Zimo.

Knowing that Xiaoxiao rarely got a day off, he generously gave Zimo a day off as well.

Having such a boss was like a blessing from a past life.

Mu Lingchuan didn’t say much and respectfully greeted, “Uncle.”

Mu Xiaojiu merely nodded, not paying much attention.

He leaned against the back of the sofa, closed his eyes, and quietly rested.

No one disturbed him; after all, they could all see that Uncle was truly very tired this time.

Baili Xia just quietly watched him, her gaze hardly ever leaving him.

Soon, the other two gentlemen of the Mu family arrived as well.

After Manager Feng welcomed them over, he turned around to head towards the old master’s room.

Perhaps to notify the old master that everyone was present.

Seeing Mu Dongyu and Mu Haoguo approaching, Baili Xia promptly greeted them politely, “Uncle, Second Uncle.”

They both responded amiably to her, as she was a junior highly favored by the old master, so they greeted her with a smile.

Soon after, there was a stir deep in the hall, and several figures came into everyone’s sight.

The old master finally appeared, with Manager Feng following behind him.

But what puzzled everyone was that there was another person following them out, Ning Anran.
