Baili Xia went to look for Mu Xiaojiu this time, but yet again, she was stopped by someone.

Ye Hua stood outside Mu Xiaojiu’s door.

Seeing Baili Xia hurrying over, he stepped forward to greet her first.

“Miss Xiaxia, Mr.

Xiaojiu is busy with something and it’s not convenient for him to see you right now.”

“What is he so busy with?” Busy enough that even she can’t see him.

Ye Hua wasn’t unaware of the relationship between the two, so why was he still stopping her?

She had only been to Bei Miao for a few days, had everything changed upon her return?

Why is there always this feeling of time having wrought great changes?

Especially after seeing Uncle this time, he didn’t even grant her a proper glance.

What on earth was Uncle thinking?

“Miss Xiaxia, Mr. Xiaojiu indeed is preoccupied with matters. Why don’t you come back later?”

Ye Hua thought it over and felt uneasy, so he added a few more words.

“Miss Xiaxia, why don’t you come back tomorrow morning instead?

Mr.

Xiaojiu might be busy until late tonight.”

“I know he’s very busy, I just have some things to say to him.

After speaking, I’ll leave.”

Uncle’s busyness was evident to everyone; one could tell from that look of exhaustion between his brows.

But, as Brother said, why not speak openly instead of holding back?

What’s the point of bottling it up inside?

Today she wanted to ask Uncle face-to-face, to understand clearly what he means.

Why, after she had already lost the identity of Miss Mu, did he insist on going through with her and Brother’s engagement ceremony?

Without a reasonable explanation from Uncle, she couldn’t find peace.

If he had some plan, or something he wanted to do, all he had to do was say it, and she could comply.

Even if it meant getting engaged to Brother, she was willing.

But why won’t Uncle speak?

“Miss Xiaxia, I think you are very well aware that Mr. Xiaojiu has been extremely busy recently. Miss Xiaxia, I’m not doing this on purpose…”

Ye Hua’s words were not yet finished when, from a distance, the faint sound of a girl’s weeping could be heard coming from Mu Xiaojiu’s room.

Baili Xia listened intently, and her eyes suddenly widened.

Looking up and meeting Ye Hua’s gaze, she said with surprise, “Ning Anran?”

Ye Hua pressed his lips together, realizing he could no longer hide it, and nodded, “Yes, Miss An Ran came to see Mr.

Xiaojiu, and the two are still talking.

Miss Xiaxia…”

“Ning Anran can go in, why can’t I?

I just have some things to discuss with Uncle, I’m not looking to argue with him.”

“Miss Xiaxia…”

Suddenly, the door behind them opened, and someone crying ran out from inside.

…Ning Anran had never expected to encounter Baili Xia here.

With tears still on her face and looking up to meet her gaze,

Knowing she was here for Mu Xiaojiu, Ning Anran’s heart sank, and her tears flowed even more fiercely.

Without saying half a word, she turned her head and rushed past Baili Xia.

She cried as she left Uncle’s room…

Could it be that Ning Anran went to confess her feelings to Uncle?

Once again, Baili Xia looked at Ye Hua.

This time, without paying him any attention, she walked past him towards the room.

Ye Hua didn’t know whether to stop her or not and could only watch helplessly as she entered the room.

And watched as she closed the room door with a bang, right in front of him.

Inside the room, Mu Xiaojiu sat next to the desk, facing the notebook, busily involved in who knows what.

Seeing Baili Xia enter, he seemed not at all surprised.

He just glanced at her indifferently and casually asked, “Is there something you need?”

Such an indifferent tone, so indifferent, it was enough to make the heart ache.
