Baili Xia was stunned.

His voice was really cold, chilling her heart with his words.

In his eyes, was this the kind of person she was?

The approach-avoidance game, when did she ever say she came here for that sort of thing?

Mu Xiaojiu’s patience was clearly wearing thin, his voice even held a trace of impatience.

“Aren’t all women the same?

You all choose such times to come to me alone, isn’t it just to seduce me?”

“Uncle!” Baili Xia exclaimed softly, using all her strength to push him away.

Mu Xiaojiu was pushed back slightly by her, and Baili Xia immediately wriggled out from under him, retreating to the other side of the large bed.

Clinging tightly to the shirt he had almost completely removed.

His words made her heart sour to the point that she nearly choked on her tears.

“Uncle, why have you become like this?

Has something happened?

What are you really thinking?

Can you tell me?”

“What I’m thinking, don’t you know?”

Mu Xiaojiu stood up from the bed, not hiding the changes in his body below his abdomen.

“My body is already like this, what do you think I’m thinking?”

“Uncle…” Baili Xia suddenly felt utterly helpless.

Were they not on the same wavelength, why did she feel completely unable to communicate with him tonight?

“Do you want to do it or not? If not, then go back, I still have many things to do.”

Mu Xiaojiu seemed somewhat irritable, glancing down at his lower body, his annoyance even deepened his complexion.

Turning around to walk to the window, he reached into his pants pocket for a cigarette pack, pulled one out, and lit it with a flick.

Puffing at the night sky outside in irritation.

Baili Xia really didn’t know what she had done wrong, why Uncle was treating her with such an attitude?

She got up from the bed, managing to fix her clothes, and then climbed down from the bed.

Going behind him, wanting to speak but not knowing what to say.

Tonight’s Uncle seemed even colder, more unreachable, and lonelier.

Loneliness…

She was already by his side, yet he still felt lonely.

Why was it that in just a few short days, she suddenly felt a vast distance between them?

She simply couldn’t get close to him.

“Uncle.” Baili Xia still didn’t give up.

She didn’t believe that the feelings they had been through together could completely vanish just because of a few days of estrangement.

“Uncle, are you in a bad mood?”

She walked over to him, behind him, and finally mustered the courage to reach out and hug him from behind.

“Uncle, can we talk things out clearly?”

“Do you trust me?” Mu Xiaojiu didn’t turn around, just looking downward at the small hands wrapped around his waist.

A pair of slightly pale hands, which made his mood drop even further.

But his gaze remained unfathomable, with no one knowing what he was hiding.

A light “Do you trust me?” from him, yet Baili Xia heard it as something very heavy.

“Is it that as long as I say I trust you, you’ll insist on me getting engaged to Brother?”

She buried her head in his back, closing her eyes, feeling a warm moisture at the corners of her eyes.

But he was always unwilling to speak clearly with her, why not?

“Uncle, give me a reason, I want the most logical reason.”

As long as he was willing to say it, she was also willing to comply, whether it was getting engaged to Brother or even marriage, alright?
