Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 120: My People Play However You Want 47_1
“No, how would I know where Uncle went?
They’re dealing with important matters, there’s no way they’d tell us kids,”
Baili Xia hurriedly distanced herself from Uncle, though her eyes betrayed a hint of unease.
She also looked towards Mu Lingchuan, certain that he was hiding something from them.
Upon catching her gaze, Mu Lingchuan simply said, “Eat up quickly.
I’m going to give you a ride to school soon.
If you’re late, you’ll have to take the bus.”
“I won’t!
I want to ride in Big Brother’s car!”
Where would Mu Ziying dare to protest further?
She quickly picked up a pastry and began eating it.
Knowing that Mu Lingchuan wasn’t joking, Baili Xia also didn’t dare to stall any longer and, like Mu Ziying, she sped up her eating pace.
After breakfast, the driver brought the car around for Mu Lingchuan.
Mu Lingchuan got in first, and the two girls followed, climbing into the back seat.
Mu Ziying turned sideways to look at Baili Xia, suddenly lowering her voice.
“When you get to the school this time, you must find an opportunity to bond with Xiaoyao.
You don’t know it, but he’s resisting you.”
Resisting her…
Baili Xia lifted the corners of her eyes slightly, somewhat puzzled.
She had never even met the supposedly ‘Brother’ from the rumors, why would he resist her?
“Don’t you know?
The moment Brother found out that grandpa wanted you to choose between him and Big Brother, he immediately refused.
Maybe that’s why he’s also resisting you.”
Baili Xia looked at her still, innocent-faced.
Mu Ziying smiled ironically: “Last time Uncle wanted Xiaoyao to arrange some tasks for you, to stay by his side and learn from him.
But Xiaoyao immediately declined.”
“Don’t you know?
To us, Uncle’s words are paramount.
Xiaoyao’s relationship with him is very good, yet, he even refused Uncle’s request.”
“Nosey.” Mu Lingchuan, who was already smoothly driving the car, briefly looked in the rear-view mirror and remarked.
“Big Brother, don’t interrupt us girls talking.
Just pretend you didn’t hear anything.”
Mu Ziying cast a glance at his profile and mumbled.
Mu Lingchuan couldn’t be bothered with them, just like she said, why should he chime in over women’s chatter?
Gossipping and discussing others behind their backs was their business.
Why would he, a grown man, stoop to their level?
Mu Ziying also ignored him, looking back at Baili Xia, she tugged at the corners of her lips and smiled.
“But it doesn’t matter.
Xiaoyao hasn’t met you and doesn’t know that you’re actually quite easy to get along with.
After getting to know you, if you try to please him a little, maybe he’ll end up liking you.”
Mu Xiaoyao was only a year or two older than Mu Ziying.
That’s why Ziying didn’t call him Brother, she always called him by his name.
“Why would I want him to like me?” Baili Xia ignored her.
She brought over her backpack to check the things she’d brought out today.
The thought of starting college was always exciting, her long-dreamed-of life was just about to begin.
No endless exams, no piles of test papers.
College life was definitely the most wonderful and lovable thing.
Seeing that she wasn’t in the mood to chat, Mu Ziying pouted and stopped paying her attention.
While Baili Xia was quite easy to get along with, the one bad thing about her was that she really didn’t bother with things that didn’t interest her.
She might look soft and weak, but she had a distinct personality.
Suddenly, Ziying thought of Uncle.
She wasn’t sure if it was because Baili Xia had spent too much time around Uncle or something else, but the more she looked at her, the more she resembled Uncle.
