Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 121: My People Play However You Want 48_1
The car soon stopped at the school gate.
Two girls carrying their backpacks got out of the luxury car, immediately attracting a crowd of eyes.
Of course, what attracted the attention of others was not the two girls themselves.
But the luxury car, and the man who got out of the driver’s seat.
Mu Lingchuan approached them, simply giving Mu Ziying a brief glance.
Mu Ziying immediately waved, and said with a smile: “I’ll go in first.”
Mu Ziying was an old student of this school, now a junior, and had already spent two full years at the school.
She knew everything about the school very well, but this was Baili Xia’s first time entering here.
“Basically, the students here are all children of nobles, occasionally there are some who aren’t, but they definitely excel academically,” said Mu Lingchuan.
“I get it, I’ll only make friends with those who are good at studying in the future.” Baili Xia looked at him and said with a smile.
Her elder brother’s attitude towards her had improved a lot recently, and he was no longer always confrontational as he used to be.
However, he wasn’t especially friendly, either.
But this kind of attitude was already very rare for Baili Xia.
In this family, besides her grandfather, the old housekeeper, and Mu Ziying, she didn’t get along well with the others.
Her great uncle and second uncle as well as their wives were relatively kind to her.
However, each of their smiling faces always concealed some ulterior motives, and Baili Xia could never truly get close to them.
Not to mention Mu Ziqing.
Mu Ziqing was proud, sometimes as proud as a peacock.
For Baili Xia, a girl who came from a poor background, she didn’t even want to spare half an extra glance.
Luckily, her elder brother was no longer hostile towards her, and Baili Xia cherished this small change in him very much.
After all, just like he said, they were all one family.
Having heard her words, Mu Lingchuan couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow, a hint of surprise in his eyes.
“Why specifically choose those with good grades?” he asked.
“They’re like me, not from privileged backgrounds, so they should be easier to get along with.” Baili Xia was still smiling.
Mu Lingchuan really couldn’t understand what kind of thought process she had.
Was it easy to get along with poor people?
Who taught her that kind of reasoning?
Who said that rich people couldn’t be kind?
Or that poor people couldn’t be indifferent?
“That’s not what I meant.” Knowing that he misunderstood, Baili Xia didn’t bother to explain.
Waving her hand, she smiled: “Big brother, I’ll go in first.
It’s my first day, I should get familiar with my classmates.”
“Go ahead.” Mu Lingchuan nodded, not stopping her.
But as she was turning around, he still couldn’t help but remind her of something.
“Although our Mu family is well-known in Jin City, most of the children inside come from wealthy families.
Many of them have connections in the background, especially some with connections to dark forces.”
“When you interact with them, be cautious.
If it’s not necessary, it’s best not to offend anyone.
While I can protect you, I can’t be by your side all the time.”
The more Baili Xia listened, the wider her eyes opened.
It was just a campus, she didn’t expect there to be such complex relations within it.
However, after hearing so much, she did understand the most crucial point: don’t casually provoke anyone.
She gave Mu Lingchuan an OK gesture, then turned around, laughing as she walked into the campus.
Watching her retreating figure, Mu Lingchuan originally wanted to remind her of a few more points.
But she walked so fast that he hesitated, unsure of whether he should speak up or not.
And with that hesitation, she entered the gate.
