Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 1243
“I’m afraid you might fall,” came Mu Xiaoyao’s indifferent voice from outside.
Baili Xia bit her lower lip, pouting slightly: “I won’t fall, walk further away, when you stand there, it’s… inconvenient for me.”
Mu Xiaoyao didn’t find anything inconvenient about it; he was just worried she might have an accident.
By standing there, even if something happened inside, he could rush in at a moment’s notice.
On second thought, it seemed like he realized something else.
Eventually, he decided to step away for a bit.
“I’m going to freshen up, you…
be careful.”
“Got it,” Baili Xia’s relieved voice came from inside.
Only then did Mu Xiaoyao leave.
When he came back, Baili Xia had not only finished freshening up but even managed to hop out of the bathroom and return to the bedside, in the midst of changing clothes.
He pushed the door open with a bang, not caring about the person inside, his sudden entrance startling Baili Xia into a scream.
Fortunately, she was already dressed, just missing a few buttons.
She immediately turned around, and Mu Xiaoyao hastily averted his face, avoiding her gaze.
He had no idea she was changing clothes; his rush to return was out of fear she couldn’t take care of herself well.
He knew he should have asked the maid to come up instead.
Baili Xia hurriedly fastened the buttons and finally stood up.
Hearing the noise, Mu Xiaoyao immediately went over to support her.
Seeing her long hair still down, he casually took a comb from the bedside table and began to comb her hair.
Baili Xia’s eyes widened.
She wanted to look up at him, but standing behind her, she couldn’t see the expression on his face.
After thinking for a moment, she took a mirror out of the drawer and sneaked a peek at him combing her hair using the action of looking in the mirror.
It was just combing her hair, but his expression was so serious it could almost be described as reverent.
His gaze lingered on her silky black hair, unblinkingly focused, not shifting for even half a second.
Baili Xia couldn’t help but laugh: “Brother, have you never combed a girl’s hair before?”
Then she thought her question was odd.
He liked men, after all, so why would he comb a girl’s hair?
Mu Xiaoyao glanced at her through the mirror and, without speaking, simply smoothed out her long hair before carelessly dropping the comb.
“Brother, I want to tie my hair into a braid.”
Her hair had grown quite long and would flutter everywhere with the wind if left untied.
“It looks nicer down,” said Mu Xiaoyao, disregarding her request, took her schoolbag from the side, and pulling on her elbow, he helped her up.
Then his large palm landed on her waist, encircling her as they left the room.
In the Mu family, the interactions between the two were always this intimate.
Therefore, except for a very few who were in the know, everyone in the Mu family believed they were an intimate couple.
Seeing the two embrace each other while descending the stairs drew no surprise from anyone.
Only today, Miss Xiaxia had injured her foot, and instead of saying Mr.
Mu was holding her to come down, it would be more accurate to say he was practically carrying her.
His hand on her waist almost lifted her entire being.
Baili Xia’s feet only symbolically touched the steps, light and airy as if she was hanging on him.
This delicate and dependent appearance made the maids in the hall entranced, filled with envy.
Both were unconcerned, as it was routine for them.
However, there was an additional presence at the dining table today, and seeing him, Baili Xia couldn’t help but freeze for a moment.
Uncle, he had come over today.
