Baili Xia’s smile—this time, Mu Xiaojiu truly couldn’t decipher it at all.

For some reason, hidden within that smile, he felt a trace of unease.

His fingertips trembled slightly, and the cigarette almost slipped from his fingers.

Mu Xiaojiu hurriedly tightened his grip on the cigarette, striving not to let anyone see the fleeting moment of panic.

When he looked at her again, his expression had completely hardened: “Alright.”

“Everyone says Mr. Xiaojiu always keeps his word. I trust you. This time, I’ll make sure to behave.”

Baili Xia turned around and quickened her pace as she headed out of the stone forest.

Mu Xiaojiu followed behind her, initially unsure where she intended to go, until he saw Mu Xiaoyao approaching.

Baili Xia ran out of the stone forest, rushing toward Mu Xiaoyao.

As she exited the forest, Mu Xiaoyao spotted her immediately.

One of his brothers had mentioned that Uncle was nearby, so he had come looking for him.

He hadn’t expected this little girl to be here as well.

Even more surprising was what happened next—when that girl ran up to him, stretched out her arms, and suddenly embraced his neck.

“What are you doing?” Mu Xiaoyao frowned deeply.

The two of them had hugged before—it wasn’t uncommon for him to purposefully hold her close whenever they were outside.

But it had never been like this.

She was hugging his neck so tightly, the two of them were so close that he could even hear her breath…

Just as Mu Xiaoyao stood there stiffly, completely caught off guard, Baili Xia suddenly wrapped her hands around his head and pulled it down.

She stood on tiptoes, lifted her chin, and those cool lips pressed onto his.

Their four lips collided abruptly, sealing tightly together without any warning.

Mu Xiaoyao’s starry eyes widened in shock, stunned beyond anything he had ever felt in his life.

This girl—she kissed him…

Before he could even react, a figure suddenly swept over with the speed of the wind.

A large hand landed firmly on Baili Xia’s shoulder and yanked her away forcefully, tearing her off Mu Xiaoyao.

Baili Xia staggered from the sudden motion, stumbling directly into Mu Xiaojiu’s arms.

She looked up, and her gaze instantly met the fury blazing in his eyes.

“What do you think you’re doing?” Mu Xiaojiu’s anger at this moment was something even he couldn’t comprehend!

“You wanted me to be with Brother, isn’t this what you wanted to see?” Baili Xia was, in truth, terrified.

Uncle rarely lost his temper like this, and the strength with which he had yanked her earlier was indescribable.

Her shoulders still faintly ached.

But the pain in her shoulders was nothing compared to the ache in her heart.

She struggled desperately, exerting all of her strength to break free from his grasp.

Once again, she threw herself into Mu Xiaoyao’s arms.

Turning back, she looked at Mu Xiaojiu, whose eyes were now burning with rage, and curled her lips into a cold, mocking smile.

“What’s wrong? Uncle, could it be that you regret it now? You no longer want me to be with Brother?”

Mu Xiaojiu said nothing, only glaring at her intensely.

He never expected this girl to act so brazenly, to dare cross the line in such a manner!

And yet, it was indeed he who told her to be with Brother—it was his own words!

“If you tell me now that you regret it, if you admit your mistake to me, then… I might consider forgiving you.”

Baili Xia continued to smile softly, even recklessly.

Yet deep down, only she knew how anxious she truly was at this moment.

Uncle—if he still cared about her, if he still wanted her, then he should say it now.

He should tell her loudly that he couldn’t bear for her to be with Brother.

If only he would say it, if only he would want her, she would return to his side without hesitation.

She could let go of everything else, wouldn’t that be enough?
