Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 1273
Seeing the few people arrive, the captain quickly disembarked from the cockpit and pulled out the steps.
The three of them climbed onto the helicopter via the steps.
After Nangong Xu boarded, he sat in the front co-pilot’s seat, while Mu Xiaoyao helped Baili Xia onto the helicopter and fastened her seatbelt for her.
This was a transport-style helicopter, with a relatively large exterior, but its interior felt surprisingly cramped.
Aside from the pilot and co-pilot at the front, the rear could accommodate at most four people.
Although the four seats had been modified into first-class reclining-style ones, relative to the helicopter’s size, the interior space was distinctly too tight.
Baili Xia sat down and started looking around, clearly unable to believe the inside was this small.
Noticing Baili Xia’s curiosity, Nangong Xu explained, “This helicopter was modified, with most of the space used for storing extra fuel reserves; otherwise, it wouldn’t be able to fly far.”
Only then did Baili Xia come to a realization—so the main purpose of this helicopter was for long-distance missions.
No wonder it looked much smaller than the helicopters she normally saw.
However, this wasn’t enough to distract her from her nervousness.
Ever since she boarded, Baili Xia had been holding onto Mu Xiaoyao’s hand, and by this point, she still hadn’t let go.
It seemed Mu Xiaoyao had no choice but to accompany her on the helicopter because she clung to his hand; regardless, Brother had actually come onboard with her.
Brother wasn’t going to Bei Miao, so he was supposed to get off at this point.
But…
what could she do if she just couldn’t bring herself to let go?
Seeing the nervousness in Baili Xia’s eyes, Mu Xiaoyao asked softly, “What’s wrong?”
Looking up at Mu Xiaoyao’s beautiful starry eyes, Baili Xia spoke timidly, “I…
I’m still scared.”
“Haha, how about I go with you then?”
Baili Xia quickly nodded, even though she knew he was teasing her, she secretly hoped from the bottom of her heart that Mu Xiaoyao could go with her.
For some reason, having Mu Xiaoyao by her side made her feel grounded and much less panicked.
Even though she knew that, no matter how much she nodded, no matter how much she begged him to go, it wouldn’t change reality.
“Alright, I’ll go with you then,” Mu Xiaoyao said playfully, a barely perceptible smile gracing his face.
Baili Xia puffed her cheeks, thinking he was simply joking with her.
Still, her hand tightly clutched his, her ten fingers unwilling to let go.
At this moment, the captain climbed onboard and took his seat at the controls.
The captain began checking the instruments; it looked like they were just a few minutes away from taking off.
Baili Xia turned to look at Mu Xiaoyao, hesitated for a long time, and finally summoned enough courage to speak.
“Forget it, I won’t make things difficult for you.
You should just get off the helicopter.”
Lowering his gaze to look at Baili Xia, Mu Xiaoyao feigned a reproachful expression: “Now you don’t want me to go anymore?”
“I packed my bags, agreed to go with you, and now you’re kicking me off the helicopter?
What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Brother, don’t tease me anymore!
I finally managed to muster up the courage.”
She finally released his hand, took a deep breath, and waved him away: “Go, go!
Otherwise, I might truly not let you go later!”
Heavens!
Even a glance out the window made her scared!
Oh dear!
She didn’t want to ride a helicopter; she didn’t want to get on this shaky little aircraft—she would go crazy from fright!
“Has anyone ever told you that I hate being abandoned?” She had let go of his hand, yet Mu Xiaoyao had casually settled into the seat beside her and was fastening his own seatbelt.
“You wanted me to accompany you, and I agreed. Now, driving me away won’t be that easy.”
