Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 1335
“What is this?” Bei Tianyou strode over and grabbed the wine glass.
Inside the wine glass, a pale red flower was emitting a faint, delicate fragrance.
Baili Xia was startled.
She hadn’t expected the flower she had casually brought back would catch his attention.
She was inwardly regretting it immensely.
If she had known, she would have hidden it properly last night.
In truth, she didn’t regret bringing the flower back.
She only regretted not concealing it better.
“I… I saw it in the Bei Family’s backyard. I thought this type of camellia looked particularly beautiful, so… I picked one to bring back.”
Her cheeks turned lightly red.
She still wasn’t used to lying in front of others, especially to someone she shouldn’t lie to.
She wasn’t even sure if she could pull it off—her heart was pounding nervously.
Bei Tianyou simply stared at the flower in the glass, lost in thought.
Baili Xia fixated on his expressionless face, completely unable to guess what he was thinking.
Suddenly, Bei Tianyou’s brows shifted slightly.
He turned around and walked toward the door.
“Brother You!” Baili Xia panicked—was he going to tell the others about the flower?
Could it be that this flower only existed in Youyang Pavilion within the Bei Family?
If that were the case, how would she explain sneaking into Youyang Pavilion to the Old Madam and the master?
“Brother You, I…”
Unexpectedly, Bei Tianyou didn’t leave.
Instead, he closed the door.
Not only that, but he deliberately locked it.
Then, he turned back to look at Baili Xia, his expression and gaze becoming serious.
“Tell me, where did this flower come from?
I want the truth.”
“Brother You…” Baili Xia hesitated.
How could she tell him about sneaking into Youyang Pavilion?
Her master and Brother had said before—whatever connection she might have with Bei Qingyou must never be revealed to the Bei Family.
And yet, faced with Bei Tianyou’s stern and serious gaze, she found herself unable to utter even half a sentence.
“You went to Youyang Pavilion last night, didn’t you?” Bei Tianyou brought it up on his own, despite her silence.
Baili Xia’s breath hitched; she knew she could no longer hide the truth.
She bit her lip and murmured, “I’m sorry… I—I was just especially interested in her…”
“Youyang Pavilion isn’t a place you can roam freely. No matter how interested you are, it’s off-limits!” Bei Tianyou’s face remained somber.
It was clear he was angry, though he was holding it back.
Baili Xia dropped her head, like a child caught misbehaving, her mind racing in all directions.
Mr.
Bei… Although he was angry, he had closed and even locked the door to speak with her privately.
Did this mean… he didn’t intend to let others know?
Her thoughts spun quickly before she finally lifted her gaze to meet his.
In a quiet voice, she said, “I’m sorry, I know I was wrong.
But… but I truly admire Bei Qingyou.”
“The name Bei Qingyou must never be spoken here!” Bei Tianyou cut her off sternly.
Baili Xia’s fingers tightened instinctively.
From her impression of Mr.
Bei, he had always been so composed—never irate or agitated.
But now, he was truly angry.
“I’m sorry…” She lowered her head further, unsure of what to say.
She could only entwine her fingers as she watched Bei Tianyou, trying to guess what he planned to do so she could decide what to say next.
She hated the idea of scheming in front of Brother You, but at this moment, she had no choice but to tread carefully.
One wrong move could have consequences not just for herself, but for others as well.
Her Brother, and even her master…
