Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 1336
Bei Tianyou finally realized that his attitude seemed indeed overly indifferent.
For those curious about Bei Qingyou, over the years, there had never been a shortage of them.
This girl must have heard some rumors somewhere; her interest in Bei Qingyou wasn’t unreasonable.
Staring at the flower in the goblet, he paused for a few seconds before his long fingers pinched it, crushing the flower completely.
“Brother You, no!” Baili Xia gasped in shock, her instincts driving her to intervene.
But Bei Tianyou had already destroyed the flower.
Casually tossing it into the nearby trash bin, he threw the goblet in as well.
Then, grabbing a roll of paper towels nearby, he pulled out a wad and balled it up, tossing it into the trash bin too.
After finishing all this, Bei Tianyou turned back to look at her.
Noticing Baili Xia staring blankly at the trash bin, his star-like eyes narrowed slightly.
“Do you like this kind of flower?”
“Am I not allowed to like it?” A shadow of gloom flashed through Baili Xia’s eyes.
The flower was taken from Bei Qingyou’s courtyard.
Now that it had caught Mr.
Bei’s attention, it would be much harder to go there again.
Perhaps she would never again be able to pick flowers from that place.
The flower that Bei Tianyou destroyed was just one bloom, but for her, its destruction felt as though he had obliterated the last thing Bei Qingyou had left her.
Her mood sunk—indescribably heavy, unspeakably forlorn.
“Am I not allowed to like it?” she asked numbly.
Turning away, she no longer looked at him or at the trash bin.
Still, her spirits couldn’t lift: “This camellia really is beautiful.”
“It’s not called a camellia.” Bei Tianyou fixed his gaze on her profile.
Baili Xia froze for a moment before turning back to look at him.
“It’s obviously a camellia.”
“This flower is called Snowfield Rosy Clouds. At sunset, it becomes as vivid as the rosy clouds.”
Baili Xia stared at him blankly.
Why did he look faintly sorrowful when he mentioned Snowfield Rosy Clouds?
Bei Tianyou had already turned around, walking toward the door.
“Don’t go to Youyang Pavilion anymore.
It’s not a place you should be.”
“You…
don’t plan to tell them, do you?” As soon as the words left her mouth, she realized how redundant the question was.
If Mr.
Bei intended to inform the Old Madam and the Master about this, he wouldn’t have calmly said so much to her just now.
As expected, Bei Tianyou offered no response.
Still, as he reached the door, he couldn’t resist pausing.
He turned back to look at her—looked for at least two seconds—before saying, “If you really like it, I’ll take you to see it someday when I have time—not Youyang Pavilion.”
“I’ve already forgotten about last night. I hope you can forget it too.”
Opening the door, he stepped out, and this time, truly didn’t look back.
Left behind, Baili Xia let out a harsh, breathless sigh, suddenly feeling drained of all energy.
She didn’t know how long she’d been dazed before she finally walked to the bed, stretched out her limbs, and threw herself into the soft, springy mattress.
Everything from last night remained vivid in her memory, and moments ago, the sorrow in Bei Tianyou’s eyes hovered before hers.
Bei Qingyou—what kind of person was she, that even years after her death, someone would risk slipping out in the middle of the night to secretly pay her tribute?
Why, when Brother You thought of her, would there be sorrow in his eyes?
She desperately wanted to see her—what she looked like.
Perhaps there might be photos of her in Youyang Pavilion’s rooms.
But Bei Tianyou forbade her from venturing to Youyang Pavilion again.
The security there would surely be tighter than ever now.
What should she do?
