This path isn’t steep, but it’s uneven.

Baili Xia is wearing boots with heels that aren’t exactly low today.

Whenever the distance between them widened a little, Bei Tianyou would stop and wait for Baili Xia.

After walking for over ten minutes, Baili Xia felt her feet starting to hurt.

“Brother You, how much longer till we get there?”

“Almost there.”

Baili Xia pushed on for another ten minutes, but they still hadn’t arrived.

“Brother You, why aren’t we there yet?”

“Almost there.”

Baili Xia immediately had a black line across her face.

Just how far away was “almost there,” anyway?

Her feet were definitely blistering by now.

Not long ago, she had almost twisted her ankle.

How much farther could it possibly be?

“Brother You…”

No idea how much longer they walked, but the restless little girl couldn’t help opening her mouth for the nth time.

But just as Baili Xia called out to Bei Tianyou, before he could even reply, the sight that entered her gaze left her utterly speechless.

Spread out before her was a sea of flowers — endless fields of red as far as the eye could see.

In an instant, Baili Xia recognized that the red flowers in front of her were the same type she had retrieved from Youyang Pavilion last night — the ones called Snowfield Rosy Clouds.

It wasn’t even time for the sun to set yet, yet the flowers were already in full crimson bloom.

She hadn’t expected that when these flowers transformed into an ocean of red, they would be this breathtakingly beautiful.

In that moment, Baili Xia forgot all about the pain in her feet.

She sped toward the sea of flowers without hesitation.

Walking through this world of blossoms, breathing in their fragrance, Baili Xia was completely enchanted.

Bei Tianyou stood at the spot they’d just climbed up from, unmoving.

Watching Baili Xia as she ran joyfully through the flower fields, he suddenly felt an illusion take hold of him.

This scene felt so familiar, as though he were being transported back into the past.

The same sea of flowers, the same youthful figure, yet it was clearly not the same person.

“Savior, is it you? Savior.”

A woman’s voice suddenly emerged from the flower fields, freezing Baili Xia in place.

The woman appeared to be in her fifties, holding some farming tools in her hands.

She wobbled slightly as she walked toward Baili Xia, visibly trembling with emotion.

Once she got closer, the woman spoke again.

“Savior, you’ve finally come back. I’ve waited for you over ten years!”

The woman took hurried, uneven steps, her agitation clear from her unsteady gait.

But as she reached Baili Xia and got a clear look at her, the woman stopped abruptly.

“…No, it’s not you. You’re… too young.”

The light in her eyes dimmed instantly, her gaze turning dull once more.

She shook her head, a hint of apology in her expression.

“I’m sorry, little girl.

I… mistook you for someone else.”

Baili Xia’s mind flickered with something, prompting her to ask, “Auntie, do I look very similar to your savior?”

The woman, who had already begun to turn away, halted at her words.

Turning back to Baili Xia, she gave her a long, careful look once again.

At last, she let out a soft sigh.

“Very similar.

But… you’re so young.”

“Was your savior much older?” Baili Xia felt a tug in her heart and couldn’t help pursuing the thought further.

“…Yes, she should be almost forty now.

It’s been more than ten years.

I’ve waited here for over a decade.

She promised me she’d plant a patch of Snowfield Rosy Clouds for me.

But now the flowers have covered the entire hillside, and I still haven’t seen her again.”

“When I saw you just now, I really thought it was her who had finally come.”

More than ten years — that was such a long time ago.

Around that time, Bei Qingyou passed away…

The savior she spoke of would be about the same age as Bei Qingyou.

Could it be that Bei Qingyou used to frequent this place and had once saved this woman?
