Baili Xia paused for a moment, her eyes suddenly sparkling.

Her face unconsciously flushed with a hint of pink, showing a bit of embarrassment.

“I… I haven’t really gone around Bei Miao since I came, so I went out for a stroll these past two days.”

She spoke, but her gaze clearly didn’t dare to meet Bei Tianyou’s, afraid he would catch her lying.

The more she behaved this way, the more deliberately she acted, the easier it was for Bei Tianyou to see she was hiding something.

Even though he knew she was concealing again, seeing her unwilling to talk, Bei Tianyou didn’t mind.

He simply nodded faintly and poured himself another cup of tea.

Without suspicion or doubt, he perhaps had already determined that this girl wouldn’t harm him.

Once determined, why bother guessing?

“I was inconsiderate. When we have some time, I’ll show you around,” he said.

Baili Xia breathed a sigh of relief, thinking to herself, thankfully she hadn’t given herself away.

If Bei Tianyou knew she was taken out for her birthday by Mu Xiaojiu, who knew what he would speculate.

Just as she was about to say something, a figure rushed into the courtyard.

Fan Yi entered the hall, looked at Bei Tianyou and Baili Xia, and greeted them respectfully.

“Young Master, Miss Xiaxia.”

After the two responded, he walked over to Bei Tianyou, stood there, and said nothing more.

Fan Yi seemed no different from usual, but while walking, his right arm appeared somewhat stiff.

Especially when he turned, his arm would naturally swing slightly outward, yet Fan Yi used his left hand to brace his right arm.

“What happened to your right hand?” Baili Xia noticed something amiss and asked.

“Nothing, nothing at all.” Fan Yi cautiously glanced at Bei Tianyou, then his gaze fell on Baili Xia.

Forcing a smile, he said, “I might have gotten cold while sleeping last night, my arm feels a bit sore today.”

Upon hearing Baili Xia’s question, Bei Tianyou also turned to look at Fan Yi.

When his gaze fell on Fan Yi, Fan Yi’s eyes flickered even more erratically.

“What’s the matter?” Bei Tianyou’s deep voice echoed.

He trusted Baili Xia’s judgment — Fan Yi was clearly trying to hide something out of guilt.

“Young Master, I…” Fan Yi didn’t know how to respond to the master.

He didn’t want to deceive him, nor did he dare, but he really was reluctant to speak out.

“Speak.” The deep voice sounded again, the air’s temperature seemed to drop a few degrees suddenly.

“Yes, Young Master.” Fan Yi dared not hide anymore and had to tell the story.

“This morning, while I was out on an errand, I happened to bump into someone passing by Wangyue Pavilion and sparred a bit with him, but then…”

Saying so, he glanced at his right arm, his left hand instinctively reaching over to support it.

“So you were beaten to this extent?” Bei Tianyou lightly frowned.

Baili Xia was also quite surprised.

Fan Yi was considered a top-notch expert, among all the Bei Family’s subordinates, his skills were undoubtedly one of the best.

Of course, the Bei Family had many hidden experts, but Fan Yi couldn’t spar with the masters.

And yet, someone else’s subordinate could defeat him to this degree?

“Young Master, that person indeed had decent skills, I was careless for a moment and then…”

Fan Yi felt remorse in his heart, his complexion looked somewhat unpleasant, also a bit unnatural.

That person, with unknown origins, had really great strength.

He was too eager to win, otherwise, he absolutely wouldn’t lose to him so easily!
