Bei Tianyou was the first to walk over to the Old Madam.

A person who was originally sitting immediately stood up, offering the seat to Bei Tianyou.

Bei Tianyou nodded and sat down to converse with the Old Madam.

Baili Xia was just about to approach to greet the Old Madam when a silhouette suddenly rushed out beside her.

Sima Liuyue stood in front of Baili Xia, blocking her path forward.

“Baili Xia, you dare to come!”

Perhaps mindful of her status as a guest, her voice wasn’t loud.

Baili Xia frowned; she didn’t have time to deal with Sima Liuyue right now.

She shifted slightly, intending to bypass her.

Seeing Baili Xia ignoring her, Sima Liuyue’s voice suddenly increased in volume.

“Stop, what are you here for?”

The nearby people all turned their gaze over, landing on the two of them.

With so many people looking, Sima Liuyue’s voice grew even louder, as if someone was backing her up.

“Tell me, are you Guisu’s accomplice?”

“Accomplice in what?” Baili Xia was slightly perplexed.

“Isn’t Guisu your person?”

Baili Xia wasn’t foolish; after the assassination attempt on Lord Bei, it was a time of heightened vigilance.

Now, with Sima Liuyue inexplicably accusing her of being in cahoots with Guisu, there was definitely malicious intent.

Sima Liuyue snorted, her voice not small, yet she maintained a graceful image.

However, there was a clear hint of anger in her words: “Last night, after Guisu wounded me, he left, and then this side, Lord Bei was attacked.”

“Everyone knows there’s an unspoken relationship between you two.

Tell me, aren’t you accomplices?

Where is Guisu now?”

“What?

Guisu left?

He hurt you?”

It was only now that Baili Xia noticed the thick bandage wrapped around Sima Liuyue’s hand, clearly injured and recently treated.

In the urgency earlier, she had failed to see it.

“Feigning ignorance. Speak, where is Guisu now?” Sima Liuyue said coldly.

“Why did he infiltrate my Sima Mansion?

Just to collaborate with you today to attack Lord Bei?”

“How would I know?

He hasn’t sought me out,” Baili Xia responded indifferently.

She knew if Guisu had really left, he would definitely come to her.

Though she was worried about Guisu, she couldn’t panic; panic would lead to mistakes.

There were quite a few people around, just waiting for her to make a mistake, so they could strike her down with no chance of recovery!

She just couldn’t understand why Guisu would harm Sima Liuyue.

The last time she met Guisu, he told her to wait three months, after which he would regain his freedom and leave Sima Liuyue.

Baili Xia didn’t believe Guisu would go back on his words, just as she didn’t believe he would harm her.

Even if the other person was someone like Sima Liuyue, with a honeyed tongue and a sword-like heart, as long as it wasn’t too excessive, Guisu wouldn’t break his promise.

What really happened between him and Sima Liuyue?

Where is he now?

As she looked at Sima Liuyue, whose eyes concealed traces of a barely perceptible smile under her anger, and then at the surrounding people, each bearing anxious expressions.

Suddenly, Baili Xia seemed to realize why Nangong Yun had gone to capture her at Bi Luo Pavilion early on.

It was actually because of Guisu.

So it meant that Nangong Yun was originally going to capture Guisu.

However, coincidentally finding Baili Xia not in her room, Nangong Yun simply pinned the blame directly on her.

Having figured everything out, Baili Xia no longer wished to entangle with Sima Liuyue.

“Step aside, I want to see the Old Madam.”
