Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 1679
The two of them casually chatted about some light topics, and the visiting time was up.
Watching grandpa being taken away, Baili Xia’s mood became heavy again.
As soon as she exited the small room, Mu Xiaoyao immediately greeted her.
“Feng Gang is also locked up here; would you like to see him?”
Baili Xia looked up and met Mu Xiaoyao’s gaze, surprise in her eyes: “He…
was locked up too?”
“Yes, he took on part of the blame for Baili Yang…”
Realizing his mistake, Mu Xiaoyao corrected himself: “He took on part of the blame for your grandpa.”
Evidently, he still hadn’t fully adjusted to Baili Yang’s new identity.
“Okay, I’ll go see him.” Baili Xia felt a pang in her heart.
Thinking about Feng Gang’s elderly face, a myriad of emotions washed over her.
“Alright, hold on a moment, I’ll go make arrangements.”
After saying that, Mu Xiaoyao walked out, and shortly returned.
“To see him, we have to go over to the visitation room. Come with me.”
Only then did Baili Xia realize that the room where she had just seen her grandpa was a special arrangement; regular visitations were impossible in such a setting.
It seems that her brother still hadn’t let go of his feelings for grandpa and was caring for him in these ways.
Thinking about this, she felt some relief.
With her brother’s care, perhaps grandpa’s days in prison wouldn’t be so hard.
Following Mu Xiaoyao for a while, they arrived at the visitation room.
The visitation room consisted of a row of small booths, separated from the outside by thick tempered glass, and conversations inside and out had to be conducted via telephone.
Feng Gang was already sitting in one of the small booths, and as he watched Baili Xia approach, a smile appeared on his face.
Once Baili Xia sat down, they both picked up the phone, and he softly called, “Miss Xiaxia, is the old master alright?”
Baili Xia replied softly, “He’s fine.
How about you?”
“I am alright, just worried since I haven’t seen the old master since coming in.”
Baili Xia nodded, and softly said, “We will enter into legal proceedings in a few days.
I will help arrange for lawyers for you.
Your situation should not require you to stay here for long.”
Feng Gang shook his head and smiled, “No need.
I’m here to accompany the old master.
If he can’t leave, I’ll stay here with him till the end.”
Baili Xia was moved deeply, surprised at Feng Gang’s loyalty to the old master.
They had fought alongside each other for decades, and perhaps their bond had long surpassed mere loyalty.
“Grandpa, he also hopes you can get out soon,” Baili Xia said shakily.
Feng Gang still shook his head, and said solemnly, “Miss, don’t waste your efforts. I am content being here with the old master. If I were outside alone, I’d be worried about him.”
He glanced at Mu Xiaoyao standing behind Baili Xia, a trace of vigilance in his eyes.
He lowered his voice, as if preventing others from hearing.
“Miss, you do not know, the prison is a mix of good and bad. I fear someone might make a move again. If I’m not by the old master’s side, I’m afraid…”
Baili Xia understood the meaning he wanted to convey, and a sense of unease passed through her heart.
Could it be that Uncle’s goal wasn’t just to imprison grandpa and take back the Mu Group?
He had agreed to her request, why would he want to harm grandpa inside the prison further?
Moreover, grandpa had asked her to stay with Uncle.
She replied softly, “Uncle promised me he would ensure you all have a good life inside the prison.”
Feng Gang nodded and said calmly, “I’ve watched Jiu grow up. He isn’t inherently bad, and what he promises, he will deliver.”
