Baili Xia had many questions in her heart; what Feng Gang just said must not have been nonsense.

She and grandfather both trust Uncle, but is there something else she’s unaware of behind this?

Could it be that Mu Xuri who just returned?

Baili Xia knew that Feng Gang was a deeply hidden expert.

If someone indeed wants to harm grandfather, having him by his side would make grandfather somewhat safer.

Despite her deep worries, Baili Xia was unwilling to let Feng Gang notice.

She said lightly, “Alright, then I’ll leave grandfather in your care.

Make sure to take good care of yourself too.”

“I will visit you often, and if anything happens, let me know then.”

After repeatedly advising Feng Gang to also take care of his health, Baili Xia bade him farewell and left the detention center.

On the way back, she did not say a word.

Her mind was pondering her grandfather and Feng Gang’s words, always feeling that things weren’t that simple.

Mu Xiaoyao thought she was upset after the visit, so he did not disturb her.

The two of them drove directly back to the Mu Mansion.

…

When Mu Xiaoyao and Baili Xia returned to the Mu Mansion, it was almost lunchtime.

After parking the car, the two of them walked directly towards the main house.

As soon as they entered the courtyard of the main house, Baili Xia felt a different atmosphere today.

There were particularly many servants in the courtyard today, all standing neatly on both sides.

Upon seeing Mu Xiaoyao, they respectfully called out, “Mr. Mu.”

Mu Xiaoyao nodded, as if already knowing such a scene, and he walked ahead towards the main hall.

Baili Xia followed him, feeling inexplicably nervous.

There were no servants in the main hall.

Mu Xiaojiu sat on the central sofa, with Mu Dongyu and Mu Haoguo sitting to one side.

Next to Mu Xiaojiu’s sofa was a man sitting in a wheelchair, with a strikingly elegant woman standing behind him.

As soon as she entered the hall, Baili Xia noticed the stranger.

A man in a wheelchair, yet his appearance seemed somewhat similar to the two gentlemen of the Mu family.

Baili Xia’s heart tightened; if she guessed right, this man should be Mu Xuri.

She just didn’t expect him to be in a wheelchair.

Mu Xiaoyao, walking in front, nodded at Mu Xiaojiu and stood aside.

Glancing back, he saw Baili Xia standing there woodenly, looking at Mu Xuri.

He gently pulled her arm, and only then did Baili Xia come to her senses.

She then obediently saluted Mu Xiaojiu and stood quietly to the side.

As for the others, she merely glanced at them and paid no further attention.

These people had nothing to do with her anymore.

Mu Xiaojiu sat in the middle of the sofa, looking calmly at Mu Xiaoyao and said, “Xiaoyao, this is your Third Uncle.”

Mu Xiaoyao glanced at Mu Xuri and softly called, “Third Uncle.”

Mu Xuri smiled and said, “So this is Xiaoyao, you weren’t even born when I left, and now you’re so grown up.”

“The Mu family has an abundance of male heirs; the future of the Mu family’s business depends on you all.”

Having said that, he looked at Mu Xiaojiu and asked, “Where is Lingchuan?

Why haven’t I seen him?”

Mu Xiaojiu said lightly, “Lingchuan’s fiancée is ill, so he’s with her in the infirmary and will come over for lunch.”

Mu Xuri nodded, seemingly pensive.

It was Mu Dongyu who seemed unable to contain himself; he spoke up, “Third Brother, now that you’re back, our Mu family is truly reunited.”

With a slight sigh, he added, “It’s just that this incident was truly unexpected; we didn’t anticipate that father had already left us so long ago.”
