At eleven o’clock at night, Mu Xiaojiu went out briefly and had just returned to Sihai Residence when the phone suddenly rang.

He raised his eyes to look at the familiar name, and his heart immediately tightened.

A call from Dongfang Jin at this hour was a bit unexpected for him.

Mu Xiaojiu pressed the answer button and brought the phone to his ear.

“Come out for a drink, the usual place.”

Over the phone, Dongfang Jin’s calm voice came through, very composed.

Even though the voice seemed ordinary, Mu Xiaojiu knew he must have something important to say.

This guy, aside from business matters, had not actively reached out to him for so many years.

Let alone asking him out for a drink.

The so-called usual place referred to a spot from many years ago, and it’s fortunate that the place is still in business now.

“Okay.”

Responding briefly, Mu Xiaojiu casually hung up the phone.

Before long, at a lively bar in the center of Jin City, two exceptionally handsome men appeared one after the other.

When they showed up, all the girls’ eyes were drawn to them, causing dissatisfaction among the men.

However, the chilling aura they emitted deterred anyone from approaching.

Even if unhappy, no one dared to express their displeasure openly.

Moreover, being so good-looking, not just women but men’s gazes were easily drawn to them as well.

There’s no shame in losing to opponents like these.

Just as they settled into the corner booth, a manager-like person immediately ran over.

“Mr. Xiaojiu, Mr. Dongfang Jin, it’s truly an honor today, for both of you to come together.”

Two icy stares shot over simultaneously, causing him to immediately fall silent.

He was bewildered and couldn’t understand where he might have offended these two gentlemen.

After some hesitation, he cautiously asked, “May, may I ask what you two would like to order?”

Dongfang Jin raised his eyes to look at Mu Xiaojiu, saying calmly, “Whatever.”

“Alright, please have a seat first.”

After speaking, the manager retreated.

Though he said “whatever,” how could it really be casual?

The best wine had to be brought out tonight.

“It’s been a long time since I came to this bar.” Dongfang Jin glanced around the bar, seemingly recalling the past.

“Years.” Mu Xiaojiu responded lightly.

This bar was a place where the two would often come to drink and chat.

Staff who had worked there longer would recognize them both.

But ever since Dongfang Jin had an incident, he hadn’t been back.

Or rather, it had always been just one of them.

“Years have gone by quickly.”

Dongfang Jin continued, “Had it not been for the injury I suffered saving you back then, we wouldn’t have been so out of touch all these years, without even a chance to sit together for a drink.”

Mu Xiaojiu’s expression turned cold, a smirk of disdain curled at his lips.

“Save me?

I needed you to save me?

If it weren’t for you, would I have let those people get away?”

“Ungrateful.”

“Arrogant.”

“…”

As expected, just like past encounters, the two began their verbal sparring again.

Only this time, with nobody else around, neither of them backed down.

It wasn’t until the manager arrived with two glasses and several bottles of red wine that their argument temporarily ceased.

The manager also sensed the unusual atmosphere, initially intending to cozy up to them but thought better of it for safety’s sake and decided not to linger.

After placing down the drinks, he retreated immediately.

However, he didn’t go far, opting to stand nearby and observe.

These two big shots seemed slightly off today; should they actually start a conflict here, he’d surely find himself in a dire situation.
