Baili Xia looked at his serene profile, with a hint of softness, feeling a warmth in her heart.

Uncle Fengjin is a stubborn guy too, but his indifferent and calm appearance covers it up.

Ordinary people probably wouldn’t have the chance to see this down-to-earth side of him.

The second game began, and Baili Xia really couldn’t understand the subtleties of this chess game.

Her eyelids grew heavier, feeling a bit drowsy.

“Uncle Fengjin, I can’t take it anymore. If I keep watching, I’ll definitely fall asleep here.”

“You all continue, I’m going back to my room.”

After speaking, she got up immediately to leave, regardless of whether they heard her or not.

Wu Ming’s aura fluctuated slightly, but he didn’t look up, his gaze still fixed on the chessboard.

“Just sleep here.” He said casually, then continued his battle with Bei Fengjin.

Baili Xia pursed her lips, looking reluctant.

“I don’t want to sleep in someone else’s bed.”

This time, it was Bei Fengjin’s turn to frown.

His sword-like eyebrows slightly raised, pretending to be displeased, he said, “What? Do you think Uncle Fengjin’s bed is dirty?”

Wu Ming’s lips tugged slightly: “Don’t get distracted, focus on the game, or you’ll lose again.”

He glanced at Baili Xia, his tone unexpectedly softened a bit.

“Better go back to sleep, the medicine smell is too strong here.”

A cold gaze shot at him from across the table, but he ignored it, casually grabbing a chess piece and placing it on the board, causing the aura opposite him to weaken again.

The chess game was the most important thing now.

Baili Xia smiled, retreated from the room, and closed the door behind her.

Wangyue Pavilion, Baili Xia had never entered, she was completely unfamiliar with it.

As soon as she stepped through the door, a maid immediately approached.

“Miss Xiaxia.” She greeted Baili Xia with a bow.

Baili Xia nodded in response.

The servants of Wangyue Pavilion recognized her, no need for her to ask, knowing that Nangong Yun had arranged it.

It seemed that even though Nangong Yun was punished by the Old Madam,

she still had her way in Wangyue Pavilion, her own territory, and Bei Qingyue didn’t really manage her.

Indeed, the maid continued, “Miss has been waiting for you for a long time. Please follow me.”

The maid turned and led Baili Xia through the hall to the door of a room on the second floor, stopping there.

She lightly knocked on the door a few times, hearing a familiar voice from inside.

“Come in.”

“Miss Xiaxia, please.”

Baili Xia nodded casually and pushed the door open to walk in.

Nangong Yun’s bedroom was delicate and finely decorated.

Yet the sweetness didn’t quite match Nangong Yun’s fierce temperament.

Nangong Yun rose from the bed, smiling at Baili Xia.

“You’ve finally come, I thought you wouldn’t dare to.”

Baili Xia was fearless, and said calmly, “Why wouldn’t I dare? Wouldn’t you be disappointed if I didn’t come?”

Nangong Yun laughed heartily, “Indeed, if you didn’t come, I’d be completely disappointed.”

Suddenly, a touch of hatred flickered in her eyes, and she said coldly, “Do you really think I’d help you?”

Baili Xia stepped closer, meeting her slightly resentful gaze, speaking softly.

“If you don’t help me, should I thank you instead?”

Nangong Yun stared, gazing directly at Baili Xia.

This woman had matured so much more than before.

Now, she was much harder to deal with than before!

She didn’t know that Baili Xia’s experiences over the past six months far exceeded hers.

With experience, people’s thoughts naturally change.

She couldn’t recall past events, but her independent consciousness was still intact.
