Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 1929: Capítulo 1929: Chapter 1932
“Good, not bad. Baili Xia, you have changed, but I like this version of you.”
Nangong Yun smiled elegantly, but her gaze at Baili Xia was full of malice.
“Otherwise, after helping you, I’d just think you’re too weak, and that would be very dull.”
She completely ignored Baili Xia’s cold stare, walked straight to the door, opened it, and prepared to leave.
“Going out just like that? Aren’t you afraid of the Old Madam?” Behind her, Baili Xia asked coldly.
“Who said I was going out?” Nangong Yun rolled her eyes at her and stepped out.
Baili Xia followed her downstairs and out of the hall.
Nangong Yun didn’t head outside but instead turned towards the backyard.
Could it be that her mentor has been living in Wangyue Pavilion all along?
Despite being here for so long, she had never heard anyone mention it.
In the backyard, there was only a row of houses, but Nangong Yun didn’t walk towards them.
Instead, she continued towards the depths of the backyard with Baili Xia.
They walked into a grove and stopped in front of a small wooden house.
“Master, Yun’er requests an audience.”
Nangong Yun bowed deeply outside the wooden house.
The posture was akin to a disciple from ancient times paying respects to a reclusive elder.
There was no response from inside the wooden house, and Nangong Yun remained silent, just standing there waiting.
Baili Xia observed everything around her. From here, looking around, there wasn’t a single person in sight.
The backyard clearly had houses, yet Nangong Yun’s mentor chose to live in a wooden house.
It was evident: firstly, she didn’t want to interact with others, and secondly, she probably wanted to avoid being seen or disturbed.
Who is this mentor of Lu Xuening’s after all?
“Who came with you?”
Just as her thoughts drifted beyond the grove, a low and slightly aged female voice came from inside the wooden house.
“Replying to Master, it’s a friend of Yun’er. She has been poisoned and I hoped Master could take a look.”
When Nangong Yun spoke, she was extremely respectful.
“You know I don’t like seeing people, why did you bring her here?” The voice sounded noticeably displeased.
“Master, you must see this person. The poison was not inflicted by anyone else; it was given by a junior sister.”
Inside, it fell silent, as if the elder was contemplating something.
“Come in.” After a while, the low voice sounded again.
“Thank you, Master.” Nangong Yun immediately bowed, then signaled to Baili Xia with a look.
She walked over, carefully pushed open the door, and went in.
Upon entering, Baili Xia saw an almost impossibly elegant woman sitting on a mat.
Her left hand held a Buddha pose on her knee, her right hand in a Zen grip in front of her chest, eyes closed in contemplation, not unlike a goddess from a painting.
But that face, and her voice, were incongruent, making it hard to believe she was the same person.
There wasn’t a single mark of age on her face, her forehead pristine and smooth, without a trace of a wrinkle.
A pointed nose, thin red lips, delicate earlobes, long and thick eyelashes—calling her a celestial beauty was no exaggeration.
She was unexpectedly such a beautiful woman!
Appearing to be around thirty, yet her hair was completely white.
Baili Xia was momentarily stunned. This was vastly different from the image she had imagined of Nangong Yun’s mentor.
This face, this youthful appearance—how has it been preserved?
But why, then, had her black hair turned to frost?
