“An Ran.” Wen Yu’s heart jolted with shock, and she quickly peered inside through the small window on the railing above the hidden room.

The horrifying scene that met her eyes sent a chill down her entire body.

In just half a day, Ning Anran seemed to have completely transformed into a different person.

Her face was pale, her whole body trembling, breaking out in a fine sweat.

Her hair had already completely come undone, looking utterly disheveled.

Looking closer, her shoulders and legs were weakly dragging on the ground, as if severely injured.

“An Ran, how are you? It’s Mrs. Wen, look at me.”

Wen Yu called out several times, but Ning Anran merely lifted her head mechanically and then lay back down on the floor.

“Quick, open the door.”

She was anxious, and couldn’t help but urge the brother there.

The brother hesitated a bit: “This… without Mr. Xiaojiu’s orders…”

“It’s Mr. Xiaojiu who sent me here, I’m just taking a look at her, isn’t that allowed?”

Wen Yu shouted in anger, her usual elegance forgotten in an instant.

The brother thought for a moment, then took out the key and unlocked the door.

Wen Yu rushed inside immediately, went over to Ning Anran, and squatted down.

Just as she was about to reach out and lift Ning Anran, Ning Anran suddenly let out a scream.

“Ah… it hurts…”

Startled, Wen Yu quickly let go: “An Ran, what’s wrong? Where are you hurt?”

Ning Anran painfully opened her eyes slowly, her once bright eyes now dark and dull.

“Mrs. Wen, save me, please save me.”

Seeing Wen Yu, she could no longer hold back, tears flowed down in streams.

Wen Yu nodded: “Where are you hurt?”

“My… I don’t know, it seems… my shoulder is shattered, my leg is broken too.”

Ning Anran spoke haltingly, as if using up her last bit of strength.

Where she’s injured, what type of injury she’s suffering, she has no idea.

She only knows her body aches now, it hurts everywhere!

The pain completely overshadowed all of her senses.

“Poor child.” Wen Yu placed her hand on her forehead, her eyes also beginning to mist over.

Although she had suspected that Jiu might punish Ning Anran, she had never guessed he would be so cruel.

Without having clarified the truth of the matter, he had already dealt her a heavy hand.

“Please beg Third Uncle to come save me, Mrs. Wen, I beg you.”

Ning Anran really couldn’t stand it anymore; Mu Xuri might be her last hope.

She didn’t hope for Baili Xia to wake up and speak up for her, considering they had long been at odds.

She didn’t dare plead with Mu Xiaojiu to spare her for Mu Xuri’s sake, fearing she might irritate him more.

But with Wen Yu, she could still make such a plea.

“Don’t talk anymore, your injuries are so severe, they need immediate treatment.”

She turned to look at the brother standing behind her, pleading: “Her injuries are severe, I need to take her out for treatment.”

The brother rejected firmly: “No, without Mr. Xiaojiu’s orders, no one can take her away!”

“If she stays here like this, she might end up disabled.”

Wen Yu was almost shouting as she spoke.

Such a thing happening to a fragile girl, even though she’s seen many brothers injured, is a bit beyond what she can handle.

Yet, the brother continued to stand behind her with an unyielding expression, his demeanor indicating his stance clearly.

Without Mr. Xiaojiu’s command, he wouldn’t let Ning Anran leave.

Even if she were to die here!

Wen Yu was at her wit’s end; she knew pleading further would be useless.

Mr. Xiaojiu’s men were utterly loyal to him; on this point, there was no doubt.

She looked at Ning Anran and asked, “What on earth happened? Tell me, so I can find someone to help.”
