Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 2012
Mu Xiaojiu exhaled heavily, releasing the coldness from his body completely.
He turned around, taking steps to walk out.
Baili Xia and Mu Xiaoyao followed Mu Xiaojiu’s steps, heading towards the backyard of Sihai Residence together.
Along the way, she held Mu Xiaoyao’s hand tightly, unwilling to let go for even a moment.
Mu Xiaojiu occasionally glanced at them, his eyes reflecting a more complex expression.
Upon arriving at the secret chamber, a brother immediately opened the stone door, leading them to the stone chamber where Ning Anran was held.
Without needing Mu Xiaojiu’s command, he promptly opened the chamber door and dragged Ning Anran out.
“An Ran.”
At the sight of Ning Anran, Baili Xia couldn’t help but exclaim, releasing Mu Xiaoyao’s hand, and walked towards her.
Ning Anran had long passed out due to the pain, unable to hold on.
Hearing Baili Xia’s voice, she regained some consciousness, her eyes fluttering open.
Seeing that it was Baili Xia, she struggled, trying to sit up.
But the pain in her arms and legs made it impossible to stand, and she collapsed again.
Baili Xia’s medical skills easily discerned that Ning Anran’s hand and leg bones were broken.
“Don’t move.” She walked over to Ning Anran and crouched down beside her.
Looking at Ning Anran, a hint of distress was evident in Baili Xia’s eyes.
“I’m sorry, An Ran, for getting you into this state.”
Ning Anran never expected Baili Xia to come see her, let alone say something like that.
How is this possible? It’s like hitting the jackpot.
If she were Baili Xia, wouldn’t she knock her straight to hell once and for all for such a thing?
Baili Xia’s current actions were completely incomprehensible to her.
But she knew that Baili Xia was her only hope, deciding her life or death.
“Xiaxia, save me. Tell Uncle that you fell down by yourself, not that I pushed you.”
Baili Xia nodded, compassionately saying, “It’s all my fault. If I had woken up earlier and explained to Uncle, you wouldn’t have been beaten like this.”
Mu Xiaojiu’s thick eyebrows lifted slightly, and the temperature in the chamber got even colder.
This girl, is she blaming him for being too harsh?
When did she become so soft-hearted? Is Ning Anran someone who deserves sympathy?
Does she not know that at any moment she might be devoured with no bones left?
“Uncle, can you release her immediately?”
“Her injuries are serious. She must be treated right away.”
Baili Xia’s voice rose a little, even when asking, there was a trace of discontent.
Mu Xiaojiu raised his eyebrows slightly, saying nothing.
The brother beside him understood and immediately went over to pick up Ning Anran.
“Where are you taking her?” Baili Xia immediately blocked him.
“This…” The brother hesitated, not daring to speak.
“Of course, she’s going back to the main house. Do I have to call someone to treat her?”
Mu Xiaojiu casually dropped a line, unwilling to stay longer, and strode out of the chamber.
Baili Xia sighed in relief and watched as the brother carried Ning Anran out of the chamber.
When Baili Xia and Mu Xiaoyao came out of the chamber, Mu Xiaojiu was still waiting in the backyard.
Seeing the two walk out, their hands once again intertwined, his heart tightened involuntarily.
His gaze, sharp as a blade, swept across their clasped hands.
Mu Xiaoyao knew that if looks could indeed do something, his hand might have already been chopped off by Uncle.
But the small hand of the girl holding his would tremble from time to time, clearly still unsettled.
How could he let go of her under such circumstances?
